"did Lebron just complain about Kirk Henrichs fouling him hard??"

wow...

so for 27 straight games bron and them was clownin and buck dancing for the cameras after wins...shooting village people harlem shake videos..

but now when your streak is over....now Kirk Henrich flagrantly fouled you???

lolol..

this guy still ain't learned...

first of all he's completely exagerating on both the Henrich and the Gibson calls...neither were anything close to being flagrant....Henrich grabbed bron for a split second to foul him and bron's momentum carried both to the ground..

then the guy says "It's been happening all season....

This guy is such a fukkin cry baby....

he's actually lucky that he plays in an era where there is less goon-ball being played ..because his wig would have gotten split open in another era..

I mean honestly who the fukk does this nigga think he is....people are just supposed to let him fly to the hoop without any opposition??? come on man...you want to go to the hole like that...you're gonna get hit... that's part of the game...and crying about getting hit by guys you outweight by 50 pounds makes you look like a straight batch....

and van gundy is an idiot for co-signing the walking off the court without acknowledging your opponent... That shit doesn't deserve respect.....you act like a clown after you win, at least at like a man after you lose....

it's shit like this that makes your opponent super tool up when they play you....

a lot of players walk of the court after the game without shaking hands, especially in the regular season. now in the playoffs, it's a different story, once a team is eliminated, almost all the players should dap each other up while getting/giving the typical "good luck in the next round" messages

win...vs. how you lose...

I mean as a Laker fan.... I've seen the Lakers win 10 championships in my lifetime....had some of the greatest players....greatest athletes in any sport...

they won like men...they lost like men.

In response to Reply # 4

and Henrich went to grab him...ie hold him up or foul him without swinging at him... ...it was smart foul...it was a good foul.... I wouldn't even call it a hard foul though as henrich didn't hit the guy...he grabbed him for less than a second and because the guy he grabbed was much bigger and moving faster bron basiclly ran Henrich over with Henrich's head bouncing off the court....

shit if anything Henrich was at risk of actually getting hurt..people have been seriously hurt hitting their head on the court.... ie Maurice Stokes...

I'm just sayin..for Lebron to call it a flagrant and cry to the media after the game like that was about as UN-gangster as it gets.

in that case any intention foul in late game situations would be a flagrant.

It looks worse because of the way they fell and Hinrich is so much smaller, but that's your run of the mill no-layup foul.

This ^^^^ I lost a lot of respect for the heat and especially Lebron tonight. They accomplished something spectacular, but pressure either makes diamonds or busts pipes. I hope they run that first of all interview forever because it clearly lays out that he can't distinguish between lite skinned ninjas; taj Gibson and Carlos boozer do not look alike.

to the bobcats.

Bron crying about fouls is another story tho.

Chicago clearly frustrated him and the refs were allowing them to play that way. As long as they are allowing both teams to play that way, then you gotta roll with it. But that ain't Miami's style of play which is why Lebron was frustrated.

Its the same thing. Knicks are a fake tough team. Chicago plays tough but they do it the right way. Its annoying and frustrating and it leads opponents to retaliate in stupid 'tough' ways and it knocks you off your game.

Miami style isn't tough like chicago's either, but they are so good and they don't need to play like that to win. Chicago just got the best of them last night. But they basically did to Miami what chicago has done to us this year.

Lebron gets away with fouls on defense as well, imo.

There's a champion every year. They challenged a record from the Nixon administration.

Of course, it becomes comedy if they don't win it all, but that was the story with Miami anyway.

lost he said it was because he was playing for the wrong reasons to shut people and last year he was just playing for love of the game and having fun.

So yeah, I doubt that this will make Lebron more motivated and make him play better.

u right
but for the "rivalry" games you can tell it means a little bit more
ie: the stare down after the terry dunk, the elbow to boozer chest
two physical teams, only way to "bother" heat/lebron is with that physical play
too bad it's a L for those teams regardless in a 7 gamer

for 2 1/2 qtrs against the orlandos of the nba and then go on 30-3 runs or something stupid like that.

No way the league will allow chicago or any team to play that way against the heat for a whole playoff series. Stern probably had a memo sent to the refs last night lol

In response to Reply # 0

setting up a play for another game (if my lip reading was correct).

It was the play where Bosh hit a 3 from the top of the key,

Had Lebron bring the ball up and signal (actually yell at) Ray to the far right corner).
But once Bron came through instead of running through the baseline screens, Ray just kinda waits there and the whole defense freezes and is watching Bon and Ray, meanwhile Bosh spots up at the top of the key for a wide open three he swishes.

I know teams run plays like that all the time, but it was cool to see it run--especially initiated by the players. They knew they had lost but they were still focused on big picture

In response to Reply # 0
Thu Mar-28-13 10:43 AM by subjctmattr

Flagrant "2" (FFP2) - unnecessary and excessive contact committed by a player against an opponent. The opposing team is awarded two (2) free throws and possession and the player committing the foul is automatically ejected.

He bit his lip, wound up, lowered the shoulder and ran into Boozer.

That is intentional and deliberate, unnecessary and excessive.

I know damn well the refs weren't gonna eject Lebron, but the could've and should've Bron's fouls was WAY worse than anything that happened to him on that night.

to tell you the truth I was surprised that they called a flagrant on that ever so obvious foul in the first place.

now if Kirk had pulled some Bruce Bowen, Dahntay Jones type shit and LeBron was mad about it... there would be no post

we are the zone era. touching on any superstar ain't usually allowed.

i don't know what eyes you are looking through but Warren its a different game and called then it was 15-20 years back.

you can see the difference from what Rick Mahorn was allowed to do versus what carlos boozier is allowed to do.

or any other side busting bandwaggon fan can come into a basketball conversation and not get your card pulled..

don't waste your time player...

if Lebron thinks that people are supposed to just let him fly to the hoop and not foul him...he is a fool. Any other reasonable peson who plays that style would assume that getting fouled is part of the game.... and wouldn't be crying about it like a bitch..

the dude is a phoney who gets HGH mailed to his house...lol

and he ain't even close to Kobe's level.....

kobe got some jesus juice in his system as well and if you put d wade or bron with prime time shaq they each would be close to 5 rings as well, so that argument is weak.

don't act like michael jordan didn't have the league clean it up post bad boys era.

the knicks were the made for tv version of what the bad boys got to do.

we been in euro mode on the hardwood floor for over a decade.

ain't no bandwagon you just madd your team is the 2nd best team in your own building.

btw kobe and dwight both fouled ricky rubio at the end of that game and it was a no call i wonder why? we could start a thread of a bad 2 no calls within 3 seconds of one another hater.

its a high tech era now and they have made modern superstar players exempt from that same past type of fouls.

i mean kobe got hurt 2 weeks ago and was crying where he clearly did his reggie miller kick.

jordan told stern to clean it up and they did and jordan cried as well for being called out on traveling remember the 96 finals against the sonics? jordan bout near had a fred g sanford moment.

yes, the nba allowed more hard fouls in the 80s and 90s. and because of playoff wars and brawls, now we romanticize it as a much tougher era. but, in truth, the game is so much more physical now. the players are bigger, heavier, faster and stronger. have you ever sat in really good seats and watched a simple post-up?

all this BACK IN THE DAY IT WAS LIKE THIS, NOW EVERYTHING LAME AND SOFT is the basketball version of grampa's legend about walking to school three miles in the snow. also, 90% of the opinions expressed in the lesson.

i just didn't like the suggestion that bron can't complain about being whacked around, simply because rules are tighter now (as if modern players are supposed to contextualize the history of refereeing whenever they discuss getting fouled). it also sounded close to cenerio's idiocy about modern players being soft and coddled by officials.

and while i agree that heinrich's foul wasn't flagrant, i also wasn't tackled to the ground while running full speed. that was a dangerous, garbage play, even if it wasn't flagrant.

The first 1:20 makes the point. I wanna hear the definition of 'physicality' that makes this era >>> that one.

-The Knicks’ coaching search still includes a lone frontrunner, Kurt Rambis, whose qualifications for the position include a strong relationship with Jackson and a willingness to take the job.

got it.

and fyi...most defensive fouls are because the offensive player initiated contact. Its a smart offensive play and basketball 101.

but yes, act brand new and act like this type of chatter
isn't going on:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dc2wXZgeOb0

Interesting that nobody on the Bulls thought it was a charge lol.
The fans where cheering because it was a good, hard foul - they
liked the tackle.

And your point is irrelevant in the context of the actual play. It also didn't
factor in that the offensive player has the right to a direct path to
the basket in that situation, particularly on a fast-break. The only way
that could be called a charge is if Kirk was set and cemented
in place in anticipation of which angle/direction in which Lebron would
dive to the rim.

None of that happened. Kirk just grabbed his arms and dove to the ground,
it wasn't really a basketball play. Was it smart? Sure, particularly because
the refs were charmed by the Chi-town crowd. But it's the type of stuff
that can ignite dirty plays. I don't mind seeing it, i'd love to lebron tackle
somebody on a fast-break and see what kind of instincts he has a linebacker.

you Knick fans are the worst on these boards. Makes talking w/ Kobestans
an enjoyable experience. Be easy, y'all will win a game or two in the playoffs
this year.

I mean i don't know if that's what he thinks but he didn't say that at all..what he said was.

>Slash my ass. The dude lowered and tried to run through him.

which he did lol... he does it all the time. Usually people get out of his way or try to foul him with an arm and he'll get an and one. No one in here has said it should have been a charge called.

>interesting that nobody on the Bulls thought it was a charge lol.
The fans where cheering because it was a good, hard foul - they

that's exactly what people are saying here...minus that it was a tackle.

>And your point is irrelevant in the context of the actual play. It also didn't

lol what?

again, no is saying it was a charge.

no, what happened was kirk grabbed and lebron's momentum carried them both to the ground, at the point they fell you can clearly see lebron extend his arms and kirk isn't even holding him anymore.

make a cogent point about basketball unless it's knick-stanning, and I

lebron stans are saying that it wasn't a flagrant, and that they wound up on the floor because of lebron barreling into him. You are emotionally taking people's words and saying that they are saying it was a charge, but yet not one person has said that.

Even SPM has said that Lebron barreled into him and that it wasn't a flagrant.

lol do you even post about non-bron related bball subjects?? hopefully not.

Dude was frustrated by the loss, by the fouls, and that manifested itself into his interview. Does it mean anything more such as it deterring from his style of play going forward? Not really.

Been saying for years that the league doesn't apply the same flagrant rules to bigs and similarly Lebron, whose physical stature is so imposing. A flagrant 1 call is unneccessary contact that isn't going for the ball...it should be called as such, regardless of size. I see these fouls EVERY game on Dwight..dudes coming down on his shoulders, the bear hugs as he's off-balance and about to go up...but because he's big, the refs rationalize the foul. It's a skewed standard.

its a common misconception.

> A flagrant 1 call is unneccessary contact that isn't going for the ball

>I see these fouls EVERY game on Dwight..dudes coming down on his shoulders, the bear hugs as he's off-balance and about to go up...but because he's big, the refs rationalize the foul. It's a skewed standard.

and you are likely right about this, i don't see many laker games these days but all those aren't flagrant by nature..especially the bear hugs. The key words for flagrants are unnecessary and excessive. The problem with flagrants is that the refs react to players reaction more so than contact. So a big fouling a guard gets looked at differently then a guard fouling a big because likely the players that are fouled are affected differently. Not saying its fair at all....but its understandable.

Had boozer flopped on that play and it wasn't bron, that elbow woulda got the player tossed.

134. "Lemme give y'all an analogy...... Steve Spurrier"
In response to Reply # 0

back when the old ball coach was at Florida and had a rivarly with Bowden's Florida state squad....I remember a press conference before one of their games...

Steve Spurrier was complaining about Florida State hitting Florida QB Danny Weurfel....saying that he should not be used as a tackling dummy....

now the first thing that jumped in my head was that here you have a Florida Offense that is usually sending 4 or 5 Receivers out on patterns on every play.... no tight ends or RBs in blocking for the QB...it's just a bunch of dudes running patterns and your base 5 man O-line as the only blockers.

If I were a coach of that type of offense...one thing that I would assume....one thing that I would pretty much accept as being part of the game would be that my QB is going to be pressured and hit....particularly if I'm playing against a front 7 with size and speed. My QB is going to get hit. And if I don't want my QB hit...maybe I should keep some guys back to protect my QB.

seems like common sense to me.

So the fact that Spurrier was crying about his QB being hit showed really a level of dellusion. The dellusion being that he beleive that he should be able to do whatever he wants offensively...AND cry about what the other team does to combat it. He wanted to live in a world were his genius offense would be matched up against a deffense who was not there to stop it.

It was just plain crazy....

Now you have Lebron...with an attacking style of play going to the basket. One thing that anyone with common sense would know is that style is gonna mean you're gonna get hit...you're going to encounter physical contesting in the paint. That's just a part of life....that's just a part of basketball. Honestly what does Lebron expect?? Does he really think he's going to play a game against grown ass men and they are just going to let him drive to the hoop uncontested??? He'd be a fool to think that. Complaining about something that's is a more than reasonable response to something you do reeks of dellusion....entitlement ...and being softer than that kitten sweater in that commercial....

A real G would have the attitude that I'm going to the rack my nigga....bring it!!!! I'm coming to the paint and you muthafukkas can't stop me..... That would be a G's attitude...especially one that is BIGGGER than the guys who are guarding him..usually much bigger.

crying about kirk henrich...EXAGERATING what happened on that foul...is straight up soft...it's softer than KG purposely looking for 6 foot white guards to try and punk.....

I'd assume he doesn't expect to get tackled and clotheslined while playing bball

simple really

in that interview, he alluded to the fact that both he and Spo have been in contact with the league throughout the season

in regards to what they feel is excessive force being used

other than documenting it what other options are there:

fighting back, which he did with the elbow against Booz = Tech

go to the media to express his frustration

or as you suggest, do nothing and wait to get injured

"A real G would have the attitude that I'm going to the rack my nigga....bring it!!!! I'm coming to the paint and you muthafukkas can't stop me..... That would be a G's attitude...especially one that is BIGGGER than the guys who are guarding him..usually much bigger."

well, if you watched bball

that's how we got here

or did you not notice the players that go flying off when he goes to the rack

when defenders try to play him straight up

it's simple

his advantage, size and speed

make it nearly impossible to guard him

and players are now resorting to non-bball plays to try and stop him

irt your Spurrier analogy

the Heat just went on an incredible run

have an incredible record

and Bron is putting up an incredible season

your suggestion is the Heat/Bron should change their strategy

OkayPlayer

last I checked, tackling the QB in football is a good defensive play

tackling and clotheslining a bball player is NOT a good defensive play

see the difference

I'm sorry dude but if you can honestly look at that play and say that Henrich brought Lebron dude you are simply not being honest. they hit the ground because of Lebron's momentum...I'd ever argue that Lebron may have fell flat on his face even if Henrich wasn't there because the last cut he made before contact seemed to put him off balance

>
>in that interview, he alluded to the fact that both he and Spo
>have been in contact with the league throughout the season

and I'm sure the league has been laughing everytime they call because the fouls that Lebron gets aren't even close to crossing any line. They just aren't. Stern and them probably look forward to those communications because they get a good laugh out of them.

How in the world would a guy who plays that style expect not to be hit sometimes?? Then when he's not hit...like on the Henrich play..he's still crying.

wait to get injured??? Um.... well if he's been complaining...where are the injuries?? If the fouls are crossing the line, show me where he's been hurt.... I can show you where Kobe Bryant has been hurt by being fouled.....broken fingers...torn ligaments in his fingers....baseball sized swelling in his ankles.... we can document that..

but where is the documentation that proves that fouls on bron are crossing the line other than him bitching about fouls that he's exagerating??

Shaq used to complain about being fouled too...but he did so because HE was being called for offensive fouls....HE had guys flopping on him....So Shaq's complaining about fouls was about him getting fouled..it was about the fact that those fouls were not being called against his opponents yet HE was getting called for fouls and guys were flopping.

I can honestly say I cannot think of another star player who has ever expressed such an unreasonable sensativity to being fouled and being such an agressive driver to the hoop.

fouling is a part of defense. Stopping a guy from scoring with a "smart" foul is a very valuable defensive tool.... Nothing unsportsmanlike about it at all. It was impossible to guard Shaq 1 on 1 so a lot of times guys fouled him. That's part of the game...

it's not about hurting anyone..it's about fouling them in a way that makes sure they do not score.....and utilizing enough physical play that may be a future deterant to him going to the rack.

Nothing unsportsmanlike about that at all....

>
>and players are now resorting to non-bball plays to try and
>stop him

lolol... wow... Fouling a guy is a part of basketball. It's honestly a sissified attitude to believe that Lebron should not be touched or fouled.

you acting like Lebron is the first muthafukka to be a go to the rack scorer...players have been dealing with this shit for years.

You can't show me 1 play in Bron's career where he's beeing cracked in his head or thrown to the grown in a way that shows he's being treated different than any other player.

the only strategy I'm suggesting they change is the one where they exagerate about the fouls and then bitch and cry about it.

I could give a shit about the Miami Heat....

Fukk the Miami Heat and Lebron James..

Look....I'm a fan of the greatest professinal sports franchise in modern history.... I don't lose sleep over johnny come lately's......

slap him on his head

or take off his headband.

Bron was right that was not Basketball that was a bit much and D Wade got take out and that should have been more as well.

believe me next time they face each other them whistles are going off and if the Bulls have to play basketball talent to talent then they will get blown out.

this is the Zone era not the hands on era.

If he expects nobody to put a hand on him then he is just a damn fool.

the zone defense was legal in the 70's and it was the brutal and physical era of basketball ever.

anyone who believes that nobody should put a hand on an NBA player who makes his living (well at least his living now as previously he relied on mostly chunkin up 3s) but a guy who primarly drives hard to to the hoop...anyone who believes that guy shouldn't be touched is living in a fantasy world.

and 1983 foul ain't accepted the same in 2013.

i mean Warren we got career floppers in the league for years and last i checked there were no tanks around.

the rules are geared for more offense period.

i mean man bron should be at the free throw line at least 15-20 times a night.

dwight howard should get 25 attempts a night.

shaq easily 25-30.

the game is reffed differently.

and man when phil jackson and pat riley talked through the media and home cooking you knew the code words.

all i said brother is the game has changed and what you got away maybe even in 93 ain't going to fly now,

Superstars are protected.

Kobe cried after he made that contact in Atlanta and there was a no call which i felt was right, however last night him and Dwight both fouled Rickey Rubio however Kobe and crew headed straight the locker room and clowned after the fact. you get some and then they have make up calls.

you know the drill Warren.

SuperStars are treated like the cats on the bench or other cats on the starting five.

i know that Udonis Haslem ain't getting even half the calls that Bron and Wade get.

Lebron was whining about some relatively light fouls

Lebron initiated the contact on hinrich. Calling it a flagrant is fucking laughable.

Lebron is the best player in the league.

The Heat are winning the championship.

i mean i kno anger and hatred clouds most of yals vision on here

but kirk knew as soon as bron had the ball that he wasnt even goin to attempt to make a play on it

hell he said himself that he was tryin to pull lebron down

those are his words

he got the worst of it

but kirk obviously wasnt goin to let bron get any closer to the bucket by any means necessary

whether he continued to go right or cross over to his left

it was a tackle point blank

the reason he went flyin is because of the momentum + bron having to push him while goin down to free his arms so he could break his fall

i mean if lebrons arms had gotten caught under him and he ended up getting rondo'd then this post would be totally different

..well i take that back

it'll prolly still be the same

hell yal would fukers wouldve prolly been partying harder

but im entertained regardless

its entertaining to see espn/youtube comment dumbassery pop off on this board

especially when yal fukers stay tryin to act like this board is the pentacle of intelligent sports discussions

carry on

in NBA history whose entire facial expression spells complain, cringe,
and whine.

he's still made because Miami owns Boston in the post-season, and
will continue to this year should they meet up.

Every star player in the game has worked the refs and complained when
they've been fouled hard. This is nothing new, and it's certainly not
'embarrassing'

most of you defended the Decision fast fwd bron said it was a mistake
ya'll defended Lebron taking mental notes after decision backlash fast fwd bron said that was a mistake
ya'll defended bron's "people have to go back to they sorry lives" comment after finals loss fast fwd bron said that was a mistake

i wonder how long it will take for bron to say these comments were a mistake

you guys need to realize ya'll kang does dumb stuff just like everyone else. Doesnt mean he's not the best player in the league b.c he says something dumb or has a horrible hairline.

get over it.

like that wasn't a foregone conclusion already...

LeBronies protect their precious saint with fierce determination.

Bulls fans can't party over the streak ending by -their- team, no one can say anything about dude w/o being "bitter", lmmfao.

though it will never happen, I want LeBron to go to the Lakers. Just to see how this shit morphs.

this reminds me of Jay-Z fans after "Ether"

"Takeover was a better song"

but Jay certainly CRIED on air when people in New York thought otherwise

"o well, Nas picks worse beats, his flow is degrading, he's sold more records, and Jay married Beyonce while Nas is divorced"

i just saw someone in another thread saying "you've gotta be a miserable piece of shit to celebrate this streak ending, let lebron and them do their thing, be happy you're witnessing history"

and this was in reference to a picture of bulls fans, at the game, celebrating when it was over.

i honestly don't know what's wrong with some of these people.

Can't just wrap someone up like that, especially when both end up on the court. That's not a basketball play and it was unnecessary.

But at the same time, LeBron whining about calls? Right. I think Ainge said it best.

bron got mad after having his streak broke in a game where he was getting hacked like shit
that ain't "bitching". it's a physical rivalry and those are the type of quotes that stoke the fire and build anticipation for matchups that otherwise would have foregone conclusions
ain't a star in this league that would have been fouled all game like that and been graceful afterwards. not this new version of KD and certainly not Kobe....
bomb hit that shit on the head. shits kinda of pathetic, but take what you can get i guess
DRose told the bulls FOH, so this is likely the highlight of their season.
Bron got another MVP coming and probably another chip so this is probably the highlight of the season for bron haters too (lol)

next time post a link or a swipe, or some reference other than your interpretation

specifically referencing the Hinrich and Gibson fouls

"they're not basketball plays"

DAYUM, ya Bish!

next time take a woosaa moment before posting

but I guess Ainge suffers from your condition

because I didn't even hear him complain about the referees

In response to Reply # 229

because that's what the OP intimates at

when you watch the interview posted above

a couple of things stand out to me

complaining and answering a direct question are 2 totally different things

MFers caught a 10 second clip on sportscenter and spun the shit out of it

he said "they're not basketball plays"

I don't see the argument against what he said

a tackle and a clothesline (which has now been upgraded to a flagrant by the league)

are definitely not basketball plays

he's not ONLY speaking toward the Bulls game

he's expressing his frustration about a compilation of these types of fouls throughout the season

but I'll let you add on

you doin' alot in the post!

In response to Reply # 227

too hard..

in the interview he claimed that Henrich tackled him....

he's both directly and indirectly claiming that the foul was over the line and required a response from him..

he was not tackled..

nor was it a foul that was over the line and warranting a response..

oh..

and yes it is very much a basketball play...

it's only not a basketball play to the guy who is dellusional to think that grown men opponents are supposed to just let him drive hard and fly to the basket..

in the real world..

it's a basketball play ...

just last night against the kings on a similar play Isiah Thomas wrapped Kobe up and held him up stopping a dunk...

it's basketball.

wrapping somebody up and making sure they don't hit the court in the process

sure, seen it plenty of times, almost every game

but as far as a tackle

and yes, it was a tackle

can't say I've seen it (I'm sure you can do a google search and find an example or 2, but you get the point)

"now Kirk Henrich flagrantly fouled you???"<----your words

well, like I said, he never said that

you did

and if you watched the entire interview

his comments weren't directed solely at the Hinrich play

that's my point

you make it sound like he called a press conference and gave a dissertation on why Kirk Hinrich is a dirty player (I see you Kobe)

he was asked a direct question in a post game interview

and answered it

the fact that the question was asked

i.e., somebody that was at the game obviously thought some of plays went too far

is enough for me

but hey, do you

you ever see a db 'tackle' a player and wind up on his ass? No one says good tackle, they say they defender got trucked. When bron and heinrich go to the ground, heinrich's arms aren't around bron and bron's arms are clearly extended pushing heinrich away. Not sure in what world they call that a tackle.

-The Knicks’ coaching search still includes a lone frontrunner, Kurt Rambis, whose qualifications for the position include a strong relationship with Jackson and a willingness to take the job.

bron got hit in the head and headband

D Wade got shover out of bounds those are dirty plays in my eyes
and if the right calls were enforced then the heat win the game.

the bulls got two players(Rose&Noah) i respect the rest of them turkeys are just side hands.
