as far as I can see.... We have 3 choices...

monday is autodraft for me.

guys want to familiarize themselves with the ESPN league if you've never done one before..

a few differences...

we got bigger rosters.... 5 outfield spots.... 1b/3b and 2b/ss..and utility.... along with the other traditional positions.

9 Pitching spot... NONE are designated only for starters or relievers so you aren't limited in that way...

plus we have 4 bench slots and a DL spot

as far as the aquisitions per week...

you are limited to 9 pick ups in a 7 day week. once you get to 9 you can't pick up anyone else.

you are also limited to 14 starts by starting pitchers per week...

now there is a slight loophole in that... the 14 starts actually only applies to Monday through Saturday. If you have less than 14 starts going into Sunday....you can go over 14 starts for the week if you have multiple guys on Sunday that take your starts over 14. For example if you have 13 starts through Saturday....and 3 starters scheduled for Sunday...then you are going to have 16 starts for the week and all will count. if you get to 14 starts BEFORE Sunday.... NONE of your pitching stats for any day AFTER you got 14 starts are going to count.... Now obviously the trick is going to be to plan for 13 starts through saturday and then have some guys ready to go on Sunday to give you some extra innings....but be careful that although ESPNs probable starter feature is more accurate and up to date than Yahoo....things happen...and you may end up getting to 14 starts because a guy was moved up in his turn.

the scoring is head to head ....5 categories for hitting....5 for pitching....you get 1 point for winning a category so your weekly sore will end up like 5-5...6-4.... or 5-3-1 etc.

remember...this is a 12 team league and you got a lot more roster spots.... so pick ups are crucial..

it's going to rank the closers.....with a grade as to how stable they are as the closer...but even more importantly...it gives you who the understudies are for the closer job...

if you're pro active about monitoring that...you can start to pick up those under study guys who are behind closers who have weak holds on their job..

I missed an espn draft last year and ended up with 1 closer .... 1 had my standard 4 closers by a month into the season...

it's a very fluid position, but fortunately espn gives you the data to monitor it.

only way to ensure dat stability is a PC...

plus I got my own personal player rankings laid out that I use....

can't fit all that in the bathroom....

it wasn't a big deal though...I ended up having chris davis in the que so that was my pick.... which isn't a bad pick at all only I just try to avoid having more than 1 offensive player from the same team...but it's cool because Davis has multiple position eligibility.

that was in the big giant red box on the front of the league page..

but no worries....as a commish I try to keep things basic and never assume anyone knows how to do anything....

I swear I was logged in before that on the league page, and there wasn't anything. It's all good though, I liked the draft room and I didn't have any disconnect problems.

ESPN's baseball is for real players..who analyze data for players they may pick up.... Yahoo is more for guys who want to just draft a team and sit around and watch the team all year without making moves..
