"LMAO!!!! OTTO HERE WE COME!!! Cavs shuttin Kyrie down?"

man, this is the most balant BS tank attempt i've ever seen. i ain't seen kyrie so much as LIMP this entire time. this injury is a flat out lie.

byron and chris grant went to kyrie after that game last night, like...

http://www.rotoworld.com/headlines/nba/202883/kyrie-irving-%28knee%29-could-be-shut-down-again

Kyrie Irving (knee) could be shut down again

The Cavs could shut down Kyrie Irving (knee) after he complained of soreness following Wednesday's game.
Irving played 38 minutes and had a massive stat line with 20 points, 10 dimes seven rebounds, two steals, a block and two 3-pointers on Wednesday, but his knee is still an issue. The fact that the Cavs are considering shutting him down is not exactly the most promising sign, and we shouldn't have to wait long for more info. If Irving is sidelined for an extended period, Shaun Livingston would likely step into a starter's role with Dion Waiters seeing increased ballhandling duties as

They realistically can't pick lower than 4 to get Otto... maybe even 3. They better get to losing.

Although I bet Shabazz will go in that 4-5 area, and he'd be a great consolation prize if the ping pong balls don't fall the right way.

If they somehow slipped to 6 (or maybe, honestly, with that 5th pick), I don't know what they'd do. Maybe go Len and look for a SF in free agency?

You've got Orlando, Charlotte, and then 6 teams with 40-42 losses, plus Philly threatening hard to never win again. Cavs actually played well without Kyrie though, so not sure everyone's on board with the tank.

Chad Ford has it (in order):

Ben McLemore
Nerlens Noel
Marcus Smart
Otto Porter
Anthony Bennett
Victor Oladipo
Alex Len
Shabazz Muhammad
Cody Zeller

Looking at the standings they'll likely land anywhere between 3rd and 8th. Then you gotta look at the needs of the teams ahead of them:

Cha - They gonna ride with Kemba. Not sure how they feel about Hendo but Basa's convinced he gone (to the spurs), MKG is a lock, then there's mullens and Bismak. So most obviously, they need a 2 or a more consistent 4. So Ben is likely the pick.

Orl - They could use a SF or a big. That is if they decide to ride with Jameer and Afflalo. Big baby at the 4 is decent and they got some decent bigs in the middle they can bring along. They prolly taking Otto though Nerlens should be their pick, the ACL will scare them off.

Then the teams close to them:

kings - really need a pg so they prolly going with Smart if they are 3rd, unless they lose Tyreke then it'll be Victor

wiz - SG and PG locked up, prolly want a SF or C since they got Nene. They prolly take Nerlens or Shabazz. If they are 3rd.

pelicans - SF, C are likely their targets too so they'll go with Shabazz, Nerlens or Len if their 3rd

suns - Gortat, Dragic/Marshall, so they are prolly looking for a SG or PF. I'd guess they want Victor first then prolly Nerlens or Otto/Shabazz if one is on the board.

If the Cavs end up 5th or worse, they might miss both SF's

He is a ball handling scoring guard in the vein of Dwyane Wade.

Anyone drafting him to be a PG is going to be grossly mishandling his talents.

Unless something drastically changes in the tourney:

McLemore
Smart
Porter
Noel
Muhammad

I'd personally go that order, right now. If I could guarantee Noel was healthy, I'd probably put him above Porter and MAYBE Smart.

Oladipo and/or Zeller could sneak in there if they beast tourney time. I'm low on Bennett, so I'm not the best objective voice. If Len somehow helps the Terps make the tourney, maybe he sneaks in at 5 over Muhammad.

Let's hope so...last thing Kyrie needs is a knee injury.

But if they do shut him down...that guarantees you'll be wrong about at least 3 things in my sig my nig.

http://www.basketball-reference.com/play-index/pcm_finder.cgi?request=1&sum=0&p1=irvinky01&y1=2013&p2=walljo01&y2=2013

Go 'head and cop to them 3L's so I can take it down.

I'll give you the W on Rose, though it's an easy win given the ACL tear but we both know Rose woulda put up more than 5.7 apg had he played this yr (and still might if he plays).

Then go 'head and predict next yrs numbers. And while you at it...next yr's win total for the Cavs and playoff seeding.

Cuz I think I'm going in if they don't win 38-45 games next yr. It'll be about that time.

*Edit: 3 things...ain't nobody considering his ass for MVP either lol

no lie.

the only other time i've made someone that mad was in 1995. i was in a compuserve music chatroom and some hipsters were cysed off the smashing pumpkins (mellon collie was droppin) and i barged in that joint, after lurking for a bit, and started giving play-by-play of the yankees/mariners game 5. when griff dogg slide into home....man, i partied so hard and cleared out that room, save one REALLY ANGRY chick. them gen x ultra-hipsters did not wanna be bothered with my sports talk. man, that girl cursed me out so bad and she started crying. i could tell by the way she was typing. just fast and mad.

have to deal with your boy not being able to play more than half a season on any level...He may turn out to be the Greg Oden of point guards..... again...and as long as he stays away from the motor bikes he could avoid going the route of the last Duke point guard to get drafted high...

because I don't think the Cavs owner would be a generous as the Bulls Owners were....and I'm not sure if Kyrie has the verbal articulation to make it as a commentator...

man..u super mad...now with Ky-ky sitting out the rest of the season..that's more room for people to talk about Austin Rivers problems adjusting to the league...and Greg Zoubek's latest business plan..lolol..

In response to Reply # 13

but he signed a contract stating that he wasn't to ride a motorcycle...

so his career being ruined was his fault.... and because of the beneficence of the Chicago Bulls...and opportunities from ESPN..... the guy is doing more than fine...(and God's grace of course not having his injuries be more sever)

completely within the boundries of good taste considering the outcome..

and really it wasn't meant to be a joke..

nothing more dissapointing that lost potential...

if Kyrie Irving's career is marred with injuries...as has been the case with his career to date....that would be sad because the kid has talent...

but that's far different than blowing your chance because you thought you were above the rules and lacked self accountability like the last highly touted Duke point guard who was a high NBA draft pick.

Hopefully he will make better choices....

-The Knicks’ coaching search still includes a lone frontrunner, Kurt Rambis, whose qualifications for the position include a strong relationship with Jackson and a willingness to take the job.

Maybe I'm just sensitive about it due to Hurley/J-Will being the first immediate targets for Duke haters. But I haven't partied on an injury that I can recall (maybe I did as a drunken asshole senior in college... doubtful since then).

at least on this board???

I think those 2 guys have gotten bigger passes for being screw ups than most athletes I've seen who have screwed up.

J-Will in particular doesn't get talked about in the same breath as other young more "street/hood" type Black players who have screwed their lives up with legal situations or other things....

I never see his name brought up in those discusions ever...

and I think I'm the only person on this board who has brought it up...

I'm sure there are plenty of anti-Duke factions out there on message boards that bring up this an all sorts of stuff..

but to act like the subject of J-Will and Hurley being brought up is some mainstream Duke-hating norm is some super-Tresvanty-sensativity laced exageration....

and again....their erros in judgment didn't result in death... both of them dudes are doing just thank God.....

but gold teeth wearing less than literate young players do not have a patent on being the examples of screw ups.... J-Will deserves to be at the top of that list and the fact that he isn't often brought up at all is on some of that stuff Jalen was speaking on.....

Marcin Gortat has a Lisfranc sprain in his right foot and could miss the remainder of the regular season.
Gortat, who said he heard a "pop" in the foot Wednesday night, will be in a cast for the next three weeks, after which he'll need to begin rehab. The Suns big man admitted Thursday that it's doubtful he'll play again this season and with Phoenix playing only for pride, it makes no sense to rush him back this season. Marcus and Markieff Morris figure to see the biggest boosts in minutes and fantasy value. Luis Scola and Jermaine O'Neal could also see their time upgraded.

After seeing what the pelicans did last night. The bottom feeders pulling out all stops. Even collins ran a pargo, jenkins, and wilkins 3 guard lineup out there for long stretches last night.

We knew that Rivers was questionable to return this season, and now that he'll undergo surgery, it's all but certain his rookie season is finished.

in China (which isnt huge). Lots of Chinese fans still love him.

He will end up gaining more fans in other Asian countries that dont like China. He also picks up points for being Asian American and being a native English speaker.

I mean he was one of the most tweeted/popular athletes of last year. He may be more popular than Yao overall now.

he has almost a million followers on twitter but tweets nothing interesting and has only tweeted about 400 times.

In response to Reply # 57

since yi jianli exists
dude was a top 10 pick and a chinese national
nobody gave a rats ass cause he was garbage
ppl forget that yao was an established star in china before he even came here from his involvement in the sports programs
not like they were voting for him just cause he was chinese, dude had a record of performing on a high level
no one on earth gave two shits about lin before the 2nd half of last yr , chinese or otherwise
i think he came in 3rd for western guard mostly off of residual linsanity hype
will be interesting if he places that high next yr if he doesn't improved markedly
the national discussion on him is basically a fraction of a fraction of what it was at this point, can't let the constant rockets talk on here skew perspective. that's just agenda shit

Not really sure. Yao was a product of a number of things including the decline of C's in the WEST during his reign. Yea he beat out Shaq, but I remember one year he didnt lead in the Chinese vote. Looking for the article now.

Either way for some Chinese fans from what Ive gathered are homers, but theres also a group that has this spirit of working hard and earning things the right way. Those fans would be embarrassed if Jeremy was voted in without being close to earning it.

Jeremy has a lot of international appeal but not quite as big as Yao--though I believe that since he's American he also gets people from other Asian countries and more Asian American votes. Its just really hard to justify voting for him as an all star given his numbers and inconsistent play and I think most people realize that.

I think if he were playing better---say 15 and 6.5 thered be a good chance of him getting in. So there is a point where he could get voted in unfairly--The minimal threshold will be lower than it is for most players but hes just gotta play better to get there.

PS KOBE is still wildly popular in Asia in China so he may never beat Kobe as a guard. But yea--Chris Paul is in the crosshairs. i wouldnt be surprised if it happened next year if Lin gets better as I expect him to. That would suck though cause it would probably piss Chris Paul off.

-The Knicks’ coaching search still includes a lone frontrunner, Kurt Rambis, whose qualifications for the position include a strong relationship with Jackson and a willingness to take the job.

2nd year in the league

and the most I've seen him play has been in the rookie/sophmore game

they can tank

get a top 5 pick

and still be here next year

what's the point

oh, and aren't you the same dude that was partying when he got injured earlier in the season

because his stats would still look good

party on Wayne!

all it took was watching jrue "lock him up" for me not to be wanna be bothered with that storyline. he could barely dribble and his shot was terrible. it woulda crippled his stats and ruined his all-star chances.
