If Nnamdi was that good in the Raiders system that he was basically in the convo with Revis was it worth it for the eagles to explore switching to mor of a man to man scheme?
If it worked you still lock down that whole side of the field

and the reality is he was overvalued while with the Raiders because he only had to guard his chosen side of the field & wouldn't even move over when team's responded to that by putting their top receiver on the other.
He's never created many turnovers, he's never been a team guy & has never even been on a squad that's finished over .500 in his entire career.

apparently acquiring him was like getting randy moss in the 2nd half of his career u weigh the positives of what he does well vs the negatives of what he can't do at all before signing and then emphasize his strengths in your scheme if you do sign him the first year castillo pretty much looked clueless and damn near none of the players looked like they knew what they were doing 2nd yr nnamdi looked better as the D improved but he was still being misused imo what's most confusing to me is the fact nnamdi is a dude who is very intelligent but not THAT physically talented u would think he'd struggle playing strict man to man where u need strength and agility to jam at the line and pure foot speed to stick like glue down the field while excelling in zone coverage where u can diagnosis a play and get in position to make the correct reads shit turned out to be the complete opposite and his physical limitations compounded the issue when he would misread a play and couldn't recover as he got toasted

the past 2 seasons - especially this past year. Say what you want about the porous coaching, but he still played at an embarassing level for about 80-90% of the season. He has clearly lost a step. That's okay - most 30 year olds do. However, that's when other skills come in to play such as on-the-ball awareness/skills and being physical in the run game. Eagles bias aside, I really don't see much upside with him at this point.
Nnamdi has arguably the worst on the ball awareness/skills I have ever seen from a former all-pro corner. Plenty of times he was actually in position to make a play, but completely whiffed on the ball. Just horrible ball recognition skills. And his tougness? He had maybe a couple of games each year where he made a committment to being physical and helping with the run defense. But it was too few and far between. For someone his size, it's inexcusable.
I do wish the guy well. I hope his career doesn't continue to deteriorate in a depressing fashion as it has here in Philly. He seems like a great guy....off the field. On the field, I won't miss his quick to point the finger and blame at whoever is closest attitude. Truly one of the most bizzare big time free agent signings I can recall. The TO situation was no real surprise. Kearse flaming out wasn't that much of a shocker to me. I didn't expect Nnamdi to be a perennial all-pro, but I did expect him to play like a pro-bowl caliber CB. He was just flat-out horrible here in Philly.
