UCONN is in the process of finishing an upset of #6 Syracuse. The Huskies currently sit at 16-6 in the Big East. This is the last Big East game between two of the giants, Cuse and CONN...but more importantly, this game serves as a tribute to the commitment of the young men wearing the UCONN uniform- they are playing without the starting center, Enoch Wolf, who most likely will be out for the rest of the season because of an incident with a female on campus.

This team did not fold, despite the fact there are only three legitimate front court players on the roster, only two of which had been playing any real minutes. They are regularly outrebounded- yet the Huskies are finding ways to win- a reflection of the no nonsense, all hands on deck approach of their coach.

He entered this season with no contract, basically having to coach his way into something long term. What he has given us a glimpse of this season is magnificent- he knows his X's and O's, he knows how to motivate, and he has created a culture of accountability in the classroom and the gym. Players are meeting their academic requirements, no one is grousing for more playing time...and the results are incredible for a team that has nothing to play for except pride.


I am excited for next year, when we will welcome in some big men to go with our electric backcourt; but this season, watching a man instill in these young men a sense of pride about their work, a sense of brotherhood on and off the court, has made me very proud. I just hope the rest of the country is paying attention, because soon enough you will know what we do in UCONN country- Kevin Ollie came here to build Men and Win.

key is gonna be getting both Boat and Bazz to stay. Ollie gonna dominate in recruiting, mothers gonna love him.

And ACC going to be mad, because in a depleted Big East, UCONN is going to have those cushy regular season records that Duke and UNC enjoyed for years and end up with #1-#2 seeds in the big dance.

I like Terrence Samuel and I feel Ollie got a steal in him but he's gonna need some seasoning, he needs a good year learning under both Bazz and Boat before he can really rock like that. Plus I like Omar out on the wing because his ballhandling is shaky. Bazz has matured alot, dude was a dickhead last year and the main reason for all of the discontent within the team but he's become a true leader and if he stays next year is gonna go down with Kemba as our best PG.

So I'm kind've glad UConn-Cuse is over because I don't need to be liking a rival's coach. I may actually root for them a bit now.

Calhoun was easy to hate.

But on the real, Ollie has been a good hire. To be this tough in the Big East with not the best recruits (although you do still have some talent on that squad) is very good.

I think Ollie's biggest test will be the BE tournament. He'll have to make more adjustments faster going from team to team...he'll definitely get tested

But it looks like the program has been left in good hands.
