a lot of schools will throw a few cardio and circuit training type machines in for rehab use but it's not a significant amount like you'd find in a health club or even the student rec center (now building those takes some serious cash). if there are 50 other treadmills not pictured in that loft then I apologize but I doubt it...
the main area featured in the pic has a standard amount of stuff. Power Lift racks, ghr's and reverse hypers,(that brand is in most DI weight rooms - they subsidize heavily for universities.
20 racks which is a standard amount considering you have upwards of 100 kids/staff in there at the same time. There's no way Power Lift charges $4k a pop for each rack. Also, they'll be a bit cheaper because the 'platform' is built into the rubberized surface of the ground....so you don't have to pay for the wood, metal framing, etc.

now this is something i would pay top dollar for.
in NYC/NJ (I live in Hoboken) it is near impossible to find a good place to sprint that is convenient.

It's like others have said. If you have a competitive (getting BCS games) program in this day and age, you have this kind of facility.
Hell, Cal has one that's just as nice (granted it was just completed.)
Oregon has one with all of these features, but we're getting a new one next year because it's going to be in the new "football operations headquarters" instead of the old Athletic Dept office building.

You're talking about the space, not what amenities it has.
So the Bama one is roomier... *shrug*
edit - I guess my point is just that the truly competitive schools aren't sitting there thinking "gosh, if we had that extra 7,000 sq ft we'd be in so much better position."
You either have jaw-dropping facilities or you don't. To the extent that these places resemble what the pros have available to them, they're all the same, save for stylistic differences - which is in my mind where Oregon makes its mark thanks to the Nike relationship and the firms (architects) Phil brings in to work on stuff in Eugene.

One does not, so it's difficult to really compare, especially based off just one picture, but that is a massive room full of brand new Power Lift steel (each of those combo rigs alone, without bumpers, are ~$4k) and what's especially impressive is the sunken custom lifting platforms. We get it, you love Nike and the Ducks, but you have to tip your hat to Bama for building this thing as over-the-top as they did.

SC just opened a new facility as well...
I just think there's a certain point at which all of these buildings give their programs the same resources... the differences lie in little flourishes of a program's identity evident in the design of the space.
