"Kobe blaming the roster now (twitter swipe)"

http://i48.tinypic.com/149c9xt.jpg

"Unless they're going to do something roster-wise, I got to continue push through it"

How about looking in the fucking mirror and doing something about your shot selection, off ball defense, and effort on the defensive glass. How about instead of continuing to slam the ball into the ground to give the notion that you care after yet again letting another player get behind you or hell, all the way on the other side of the court, for a wide open bucket....you actually trail your fucking man? There isn't a free safety position in basketball dummy. Fucking hell, I'm sick of this dude being one of the main offenders that creates our weaknesses, continuing to do the same shit, and then talking about other people. FOH

You're a fucking captain on this team and all you do is point fingers...and when dude does try to own up to mistakes? All he fucking owns up to is missin shots and that they will start falling and needs to get his legs. Bitch, start sharing the damn ball if you're tired and how about actually for once mentioning that you need to work on your defensive team D and effort?

If this dude wasn't a Laker, I would hate prob hate this dude eternally.

This mfer Kobe is tweeting after the game about how he's his biggest critic...but then this dude only mentions his shooting as the problem. This our captain? The dude who is supposed to set the mentality for the rest of the team? Talking about his own jumpers when we just allowed 55% shooting to the Toronto fucking Raptors and couldn't defend screen-roll to save our collective playoff lives? Are you fuckin joking me

Earl, after the game, pretty much said we have to play some fucking D and change this mentality that we can outscore people. The only dude who can hold his head high right now is this dude Earl Clark.

I get annoyed just playing one pickup games with dudes like this...imagine being around it for 6-8 months.

Kobe's lack of anything close to a championship without Phil is arguably the greatest testament to his skill as a coach.

if not directly lobbied for.

the biggest problem with their roster is a 30 million dollar gunner. and his shooting/assists/rebounds are gonna keep dropping month by month as the ageless wonder gets tired.

this wack butt overrated team ain't seeing no post season except on X Box 3)

and trying to one up the rest of the league has come back to bite them in the behind 4)

if you trade Pau i bet he got 2-3 good years left and once he leaves Kobe he will be all star level again 5)

lakers bench is horror and bull 6)

Mike Brown was doing the right thing, however he was boring for them 7)

the Lakers are Like Hugh Hefner now, with the right pills and lights things are cool, however once the dentures come out its Sleepy time 8)

I'm Loving this Season in LA LA land, Props to David Stern because the Lake show Died when Chris Paul went across the hall and they ain't never recovered. 9)

and while Kobe has had a great career, i won't miss that lima bean head turkey when he retires because he never knew just how good he truly had it. 10)

and it isn't his shot selection, or his defense or lack of.

it's his leadership skills...he doesn't have any.

you can't be the captain of the team and hold everyone accountable except for yourself, and expect your teammates to believe in you. d-12's already tuning kobe out, and he's the guy l.a. brought in to put the lakers over the top.

this is probably gonna get worse before it gets any better.

The only dude who I see as leader on his team is Nash but he just got to the team so he takes a backseat to Kobe.

When he was younger, there were all the vocal vets like Ron Harper, B Shaw, Ho Grant, AC Green, etc. On the recent teams, we always had fish who was such a dominant and resonating leader. Of course we always had Phil at the top to circumvent and navigate Kobe's bs, and contain/minimize his methods.

Now that all the covers are stripped away and Nash isn't entrenched, all the responsibity is on Kobe to lead and he's finger pointing with zero self-awareness, all talk but no action.

The level of respect and quality of leadership becomes apparent in how others rally or don't rally around you in terms of crisis. We're seeing an obvious answer in reference to Kobe this season.

He is getting lazy about his passive aggressiveness lately. He has no patience for it anymore.

Like I said, this team would never work with him playing the same way he has always played. With the condition their main guys have been it, it wouldn't have worked any other way either.

And you will know MY JACKET IS GOLD when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

oh, it's never him, didn't you know?
he always makes sure to tell the media that his will power and ability is above the one of his tammates.
he just lets us know that this fail is not on him.

He's not going to be able to play defense. His pride's not going to allow him to continue lose not doing what he does best. If the teams going to lose he's not going to focus more on D than he does on his scoring. Not an excuse. Just reality. He's in get his mode at this point. sucks. I'm just hoping for an 8th seed to avoid giving up the lottery pick.

I don't see them bringing him back if he can't dial it back, and I don't see him retiring until he gets 40k points.

40K points? That is your favorite number (5!) more seasons at roughly this level. No way in fuck does he make it.

After next season at least. I would be beyond shocked to see him keep playing on another team.

here's why I would almost guarantee that Kobe will retire a Laker..

the table Kobe sits at has only a few people..the Laker table I mean..... Kareem...Magic...West...Baylor...Wilt...Shaq...

Now only 1 person on that list left the Lakers to pursue titles after he was on the Lakers...

and that person left because the Lakers decided to move on from him and not pay him like he was still a star.

If Kobe were to leave..he would join that person in that distinction.

My impression of Kobe Bean Bryant is that he prefers to not follow that person's lead..and wants to remained distinguishable from that person as much as possible.

you have to remember...it's very rare that a great player's seat at his own team's historic table....is just as or more prestigous than his place at the overall table of his sport...

not even the player who Kobe strives to out do in terms of NBA history...michael jordan ...stayed with his team of greatness....

IMO..Kobe Bryant would rather be Magic Johnson or Kareem Abdul Jabbar than Shaquille O'Neil.

and by doing so...he can approach and possible surpass Michael Jordan while doing something Mike did not do....play only for his great team.

Kobe has been a known narcissist, bad teammate, gunner, etc. for quite some time. The only difference now (like a few other posters have mentioned) is that there isn't anyone to cover Kobe's ass (so to speak), and he's really showing it now that they are losing.

No way I'd want to play with this dude, but I knew that from playing against dude in leagues around Philly since he was 15 or so. Spoiled, sheltered, entitled rich kid from the suburbs with an ex-NBA pop.

To be clear, I think he's an excellent basketball player, but just has a horrible on-court personality, and a lack of one off the court.
