When you make the mistake that directly leads to
the loss, you get the blame.

That's the way sports goes.

Didn't say it was fair, but let's not rewrite the
rules of sports credit/blame association just to
cop pleas for Peyton Manning

In response to Reply # 10

that was probably the best football game i have ever seen. so many key plays happened in the end of the 4th qtr.

my only angle here is, there was an EASY CHANCE to win this game and the Ravens turned on 'Rookie' mode in Madden and threw a deep bomb in double coverage and they catch and run it in for a TD.

but reality is OT happened, and Manning threw a terrible pass. i will say tho, he didn't get many chances to throw the ball down field. first game i have seen Denver did not attack deep with D.Thomas, who is the biggest threat on the offense.

im rambling and mad and in disbelief at the loss no blame to anyone on my part just a wild game.

It's not like Buckner made that play in Game 7, the long ass TD to Jones was MUCH more Buckner-like in that it was the undoing earlier on. The pick was more like Donnie Moore homer to Dave Henderson or whatever. anyway, whatever.

And you will know MY JACKET IS GOLD when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

The game was already tied when he let that ball go through his legs. Bob Stanley had just threw a wild pitch that let the tying run score. The Sox were already in full melt down mode when Buckner missed that grounder. If he makes the play, the only thing that is guaranteed is that there is another inning of baseball played that night. He did not cost them victory, he ensured defeat.

3rd and 7, under 2 minutes, Baltimore is out of timeouts & they don't let Peyton throw for the 1st down. If Denver makes that play, Baltimore never gets the ball back with a chance to tie the game...

Horrible decision by Fox...

Do recall that racist people was saying that

coaching the team, etc

Our first game without the Kraken, throwing Hairston against Leslie... well, you saw what happened. Ba and I were talking about it on Twitter, not much of a reason to need to dodge this one.

I didn't expect us to be that close, or to even stay relatively close once Curry starting limping (if he could've stayed in the game, it would've really come down to the wire).

I actually thought that game was more of a positive for us than anything, all things considered. Amile Jefferson got some great playing time, Sulaimon got his "worst game of the season" out of the way, and Plumlee showed he can bang with the best big men in the ACC. He's not scared of Len or Johnson or anyone.

But anyway. As long as tOSU can beat Michigan tomorrow, it's a wash. GO BUCKEYES! O-H!

Boldin has more catches.
Pitta has more catches.
Rice has more catches.

Yet...

6 targets, 2 TDs, 98 yards for Smith tonight.

Oh, and Champ also had a nice PI on 3rd down in overtime (it was a BS call tho).

versus Tebow & Company last year.

No clutch performaces to speak of since really Super Bowl versus the Eagles (won more off Eagle turnovers & before Brady had elevated into being a 'numbers guy' in full).

He's lost home games to Flacco & Sanchez. Eli owns his ass.

At least let him not choke against the Texans tomorrow, then not lose to the Ravens next week (which he prolly will) and then have Peyton never win another big game.

LOL @ this knee-jerk shit y'all are on like this is 'over forever'. You've been saying the same shit in the face of a playoff game L for Peyton since 2002 at least.

because Peyton will be superior in every other individual category plus will have played with a lesser cast overall.

It's that simple, which is why it's silly to pretend it's done.

If Brady wins 3 in his first 4 seasons as a starter but none once he started putting up Peyton numbers, you'll be able to make plenty of 'when it mattered' charges against him as well.

peyton played with two HOF receivers in their primes...freeney going HALL...bob sanders was a beast before injury...he has good teams.

them early brady teams won because he ain't fuck up and put his guys in position to win OFTEN...and AV made them kicks because tom dogg set them shots up.

peyton coulda done that...and he choked. a lot. could done it today. and he choked. again.

it shouldn't matter if he wins one more and tom don't win anymore. tom been to 5, peyton been to 1.

all these excuses wack. peyton a reg season nigga.

had more support over the course of his career than Tom Brady, who had (respectively) a Top 5, #1 & #2 ranked defense in the years he actually won?

Years their offense wasn't close to as good as their defense was?

Peyton, whose team went from 11 wins to not winning a single game until Week 15 last season which he missed while Brady's team won 11 games with Matt Casseell?

A team led by the same all-time great coach for his entire career?

LOL, damn, I don't know why you're so pressed.

They're both amongst the best to ever play, there's plenty of debate to be had on either side. And contrary to your wishes, it's not a debate that's in any way set in stone.

in football, multiple positions have to play well...on both sides.

however, there is one position in football that can really fuck up a game and peyton plays that position. and he fucks up a lot. 4 TOs. on him. again.

and again. i stay outta football threads because there's too many meatheads in them and i don't wanna be bothered. last time i was in a football draft thread, i said sidney rice was better than ginn and got partied on by meathead OSU fans.

i'm good. y'all carry on with all that.

eh, there's lots of positions that can fuck up a game but agreed QB is the most important position on the field, for the record I only put three of those on him.

The first pick was PI they let go and then the ball bounced directly off Decker's hands anyway.

Peyton to me played well overall but obviously made the mistake that ultimately lost the game in OT.

Shoulda never been in that position to begin with which I put on Fox's game mismanagement at the end of regulation.

But still, it's Peyton's L to eat because he's the QB.

I hear you, I told all those same OSU cats plus LB as a Dolphin fan that Ginn was a bust.

They spent two years trying to act like he was gonna be better than Desean Jackson before giving up.

>i'm good. y'all carry on with all that.

- Peyton losing games is one thing. HOW he loses them is another.

For a dude that is so mechanical and precise and on, and blah blah blah, he UNCHARACTERISTICALLY fucks up when it means the most. He has had some ABYSMAL playoff performances directly leading to the Colts losing, but motherfuckers Cuban B the living SHIT out of that.

People stay shitting on that Colts D like Peyton was so saddled by their inadequacies. Yet the second time they played the Pats in Foxboro, the score was 3-3 at the half. Second half Pats scored 18, Colts scored NOTHING.

Steelers game, that fucker refused to slow down the Steelers pass rush by using Edge with screens or just running. Colts Defense was DOING their damn job but Peyton was three and outting like shit. GO BACK AND REWATCH THAT GAME. Bettis-Nick Harper-Roethlisberger-Vanderjagt was dramatic but all unnecessary. That game was sitting there ALL day for the Colts if Peyton didn't fuck it up.

The year they WON the super bowl, they were basically a run first defensive team. The ONLY part of a game PEyton showed his ass was second half v. the Patriots. They had to take the damn ball out of his hands to win their SUPER BOWL.

Now I left him alone after he nutted up against the Patriots and finally won a bowl, but this bullshit like matching Brady's Super Bowl titles, or getting ONE LESS somehow makes him better forces me to pull out the files. When most of the money and attention and accolades and STATS are coming from one side of the ball, you cannot whitewash that shit when the main figure behind it plays so POORLY in those losses. The fuck you think Kurt Warner is going to the HOF? For being the greatest winner? NAH. For balling out in big games, even when losing.

I said Eli would win more Super Bowls than Peyton YEARS ago and I got the side-eye....how's that lookin now?

It ain't fair to call that dude "Dan Marino," cause Marino NEVER had teams stacked like Peyton did.

misrepresenting what I said at the end and acting like i wrote some long ass piece is waving the white flag, plain and simple.

you "cared" enough about Peyton to go into it above. Don't claim fatigue now that you got torched.

which is funny because I've never been a 'Peyton Manning Guy' I've just come to appreciate his greatness a bit over the course of his career particularly as he heads into the twilight of it & almost had it end altogether prematurely.

Then you start crowbarring Eli's goofy ass in. Nothing you said there while skimming it was anything that hasn't already been rehashed or worth arguing about to me.

If you wanna take that as a win or some indicator I couldn't contradict the undeniable truisms in your bulletproof diatribe, have at it.

Because Peyton looked goofy as shit throwing that
ball across his body....shit was an embarrassment

Lost the fucking game

Cam-Kaep-Russ-RG-Luck-etc make that throw with their
eyes closed

Or tuck it and run for 97 yards

(obviously they all have other deficiencies that Peyton
doesn't have, but still)

We got Locker in a throw-in during the Kevin Love trade

We fucked up letting Russell 3X go in the Love trade

Love hurt and Russell 3X now the spokesperson for Wrangler

But Manziel? He's our next target.

Not only does he act like a stereotypical black kid
from the hood who don't know what to do with success,
he has angry white men attacking him as if he was
black:

We gave y'all Russell Wilson pre-draft last year

Huge coup for y'all

White people been MASTERFUL with the handling of
Russell 3X

We got RG3 on Subway commercials

Y'all got 3X on WRANGLER commercials

WRANGLER

Can't possible get whiter or better than Wrangler

>we keep him. he's the heir to the larry bird throne of
>"succeeds because he clearly doesn't like black people"
>throne.

Bird's disdain for black people was far greater and more
awesome

Bird was out there looking like an officer for the confederacy

After Rodman made that comment about how Bird would be
considered ordinary if he was black, Bird got so mad he
shot about 40,000 jumpshots, led to his back problems later

That's why Bird was fabulous

Love and his cutesy comments on race, quoting Bill Russell?
Waaaay too self reflective

Nah

He threw for 330 and two tds and got sacked twice on fifty dropbacks this season. Defense fucked up a nine point lead in the fourth.

In response to Reply # 70

McCourty is such a better safety in coverage than Chung (who I always thought was better than he was), that the upgrade is doubled because McCourty was an average, at best, CB after that rookie season.

And Talib's big enough and physical enough to match up with Smith halfway decently.

You don't like sports, you like soap operas.

I couldn't give much less of a fuck about Manning (and yes he is average to subpar in playoffs) but cmon.

And you will know MY JACKET IS GOLD when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

You're being silly.

He threw the interception that led to the
winning kick.

I didn't make the rules, but that gets you
blamed.

To the tune of two rings.
But he is a passin'-ass Dilfer.
God was helpin', because he exposed him just in time for them to miss the playoffs.

Henceforth his name is Chips & Salsa. That's all he's got.

RE: His brother sucks.

-The Knicks’ coaching search still includes a lone frontrunner, Kurt Rambis, whose qualifications for the position include a strong relationship with Jackson and a willingness to take the job.
