Wondering if Mars appeared out of nowhere in 2013 instead of the mid-80s, whether he'd be pulling harder for Brooklyn or the Knicks. Easy to see him being a big Melo fan. But I'm guessing the pull of a hometeam in Brooklyn would be too much to resist.

But let's assume he was born before the move.... and maybe had time to establish himself as a die-hard NYK fan.... and only then heard news of the Nets moving across the river. Does his allegiance switch at that point?
