"Big East Basketball 2013: Going through the motions"
We're heading into the last 3 months of the conference as we know it... and I'm somewhere between depression and acceptance. But, if you can strip away all of the conference realignment context, there is still a really fun basketball league to watch, albeit one without the depth we're used to seeing. Zones are a particularly tough nut for MU to crack. Part of that is that the outside shooting is pretty poor. Also, the past few seasons they've had Jae Crowder, Jimmy Butler, and Lazar Hayward to work around the free throw line and break zones from the inside out. No one on this team has demonstrated that ability so far--Jamil Wilson had some success there today, but he's typically not super strong or decisive with the ball.
