Dude is as talented as 99% of the guards in the association but cats want to act like he's Brandon Jennings or some shyt. Having watched Top5 play in every possible situation, I can honestly say anything Tony does, Monta can do better. He just happened to have been part of mediocre teams for the good chunk of his career thus was forced to be the #1 guy which affected his efficiency. He had nothing to play for thus he kept gunning, put up numbers & called it a day. It wasn't that long ago cats were saying Paul Pierce was nothing but gunner b/c he played for mediocre teams that lost a bunch of games year in & year out.

Dirk said just as much after Gm 7 so there is no tapping dancing over that fact.

Again, the reason for that "What's Dirk Excuse" post steamed from cats claiming Dirk > KG by glorifying his 2011 post-season performance while at the same time shitting on his SUPPORTING CAST (both 2011 & 2014). I claimed the he had a top 5 coach, a decent supporting cast & Monta was a good enough wingman thus he has NO EXCUSE to miss the post-season & not win a single game since 2011. ***This is where the Dirk Stans Lost***Folks instead started immediately plea copping saying but...but...but he doesn't have enough help to even beat out Dragic's Suns when Monta had actually surpassed him. Then in the postseason Dirk wet the bed while Monta was the best player in the series but I'm supposed to be the one that took the L. Why? B/c Dirk's so called shitty supporting cast carried the team to 3 wins while Dirk was getting neutralized by Tiago & actually getting outplayed in a couple of games.

For me to have lost the agenda these things would have had to happen:
#1. His wingman & supporting cast would have had to wet the bed along w/ Carlisle proving not to be a top 5 coach......that was it! Did that happen? NOPE! Did they win 3 games while Dirk was neutralized by Tiago? Yes! So, basically the series proved that he had a great coach, a capable wingman & a good enough supporting cast thus my claim that Dirk has no excuse was VALIDATED & Dirk stan's plea cops was proven to be unfounded. The team could have won the chip while Dirk was being neutralized by the opposing power-forward & I would have still won b/c AGAIN y'all shitted on his supporting cast just like 2011.

I was actually laughing my ass off when Cuban took his L & brought back Chandler who I had claimed was the MVP of the 2011 Mavs. They also brought back Barea.....lol! Folks need to quit shitting on the 2011 Mavs supporting cast just so they can glorify Dirk. He has an many Finals MVPs as Billups/Top5/Kawhi/Pierce/Maxwell/Dumars...it doesn't mean as much as you think esp. when Wade was actually the best player in the Finals. So, please quit glorifying it & putting so much weight on it in the Dirk vs. KG debate.

BTW...the Spurs scrub were able to stay in the game b/c Dirk was fuckin' horrible on defense. As far as coach Rick Carlisle is concerned, the wrong player is representing the Dallas Mavericks in the All-Star Game.

Dallas power forward Dirk Nowitzki was the final All-Star selection, getting picked by commissioner Adam Silver as an injury replacement for Anthony Davis late Wednesday night. The Mavs had lobbied for shooting guard Monta Ellis.

"Let's be honest: should be at the All-Star Game and Dirk should be home," Carlisle said Friday on ESPN's "The Afternoon Show with Cowlishaw and Mosley" on 103.3 FM. "That's the way this should be going. I'm assuming they go by the vote count. Dirk may have had one more vote than Monta or something like that, but Monta Ellis should be in the All-Star Game."

Nowitzki, a 17-year veteran who is making his 13th All-Star Game appearance, is averaging 18.3 points and 6.0 rebounds per game. Nowitzki, 36, was eagerly anticipating having a full week to rest and relax with his family during the All-Star break, acknowledging in a team news release that the selection "threw a little bit of a wrench into my plans, but I am very excited."

Ellis, a 10-year veteran, has never been an All-Star despite a career average of 19.4 points per game. He leads the Mavs with 19.8 points per game this season and is averaging 4.5 assists.

Ellis also leads the league in clutch points with 104, using NBA.com's definition of "clutch," which is the final five minutes of a game with the score within five points.

"If it continues like this, he may be known as the best player that never made an All-Star Game," Carlisle said. "He is that good. But I really do believe down the road, he's got a lot more chances to get in there. He's that good and he's getting better. At age 29, his skill level continues to rise, his recognition of situations is better, and so on and so forth.

"But I'm really disappointed that he's not there because this was his year to be there after all the things that he's done. He's leading the team in minutes played and points, and he's made more big shots down the stretch of games than anybody on the team.

"Dirk's made a lot, too. Dirk is certainly deserving, don't get me wrong. But Monta, this was his time to be there."
