Budinger AK47 Roy Cunningham Shved Stiemsma
none of these guys were on the team last year, instead it was guys like Wesley "Career Year" Johnson, Anthony Randolph, Anthony Tolliver (Creighton guy, love him, but blech), old Brad Miller, crippled Martell Webster, injured and eratic Michael Beasley...
Three of their six players currently playing with a PER above 15 are new guys (AK47 and Stiemsma lead the pack, with Shved sixth) and, you know, their two best players are out.
Despite Rubio being at the bottom of a few of advanced metric categories you'd expect him to be higher on for that team (PER, offensive rating) he's 4th in win shares. And again, his starting shooting guard who's job it was to space the floor was Wesley Johnson, and 4th overall pick who couldn't crack 40% shooting or 50% eFG without or with Rubio. And so far in Phoenix, he's picking up right where he left off.
But more than the metrics, I know what I saw last year during that free 30 day league pass trial, and that was a Minnesota team that I actually tried to make sure to watch because they were fun.
