I don't think the 6 assists is an unreasonable number to expect from a starting PG, I think the points will be a lot tougher because he's not a very efficient scorer, plus if he's having defensive and turnover issues his time on the court maybe be limited.

dude has played a handful of games since a knee injury. also, houston is 4-2 in the preseason with the highest scoring offense. i'm not even a lin booster, but the idea that his numbers from pre-season are more telling than what he did last year is very weird.
