Cs had various injuries, still went to the ECF. They will be about as good of a regular season team this year.

No one in that division will have a great record, I think the head to head is going to be full of splits, four pretty competitive clubs with those two, NJ and Philly

And you will know MY JACKET IS GOLD when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

he can't shoot, he's not athletic enough to finish around the rim and he doesn't get to the line. evan was the worst player on the sixers last year who got tick, and he's been even worse in the pre-season.

But I'm sure there is a metric out there that might say turner.

We'll see though. Nothing about his game fits this team right now.
They'll need more than ball handling and defensive rebounding from him. If he can't guard wing players he's a waste of spaced. Next year is a team option. I think they would cut bait with him and let him walk. They'd get slammed for a wasted pick, but whatever.

KNICKS.

DWIGHT is a bust this year, has back problems second half of the season, Lakers can't get out of the West

Rondo and Doc feud, Celts implode

DaMarcus Cousins becomes the "Bubba Chuck" of Centers- Undeniably talented, but does it help his squad...and he will destroy D12 each and every time Sac plays LA

Shaq becomes increasingly annoying on TV, splits with Hoops after she is seen out on the town with Fish Nugget Terry

Kobe buries Mike Brown at the end of the season, and does at least one ridiculous fashion shoot

Rudy Gay makes the all star team

Perry Jones shows signs by end of season of being a Baby Durantula

-The Knicks’ coaching search still includes a lone frontrunner, Kurt Rambis, whose qualifications for the position include a strong relationship with Jackson and a willingness to take the job.

>MVP

Bron Bron

>ROY

I'm liking Lillard, Davis or the big dude for toronto

>MIP

Enes Kanter

>DPOY

I get the feeling Bron is going to get rewarded for the last few years and win.

>COY

Don't care.

>MIT (most improved team)

Milwakee or Golden State. Curry/Bogut/Lee is a nice combo and Illy/Ellis/Jennings/Dalembert/MM will do ok as well. Toronto could go o.k. With Lowry running the point the Lithuanian at C, Barg hitting more 3's, DeRozan and Fields combining.

>MRT (most regressed team)

other then the obvious ones like Houston/Magic I think that Detroit will be getting the lottery tickets behind the Cats.

>Sleeper team(s)

Spurs will get another 60 wins, no-one will care.

>Seeding: EC

Seemingly weak east this year. Cleveland/Washington/Bobcats/Orlando all no chance.

1. Miami
2. Boston
3. 76ers
4. Pacers
5. Knicks
6. Brooklyn
7. Milwaukee
8. Toronto (only due to incredibly weak East)

>Seeding: WC

1. OKC
2. SA
3. LAL (I see the Lakers being a better playoff team then anyone other then OKC though, just will struggle early w/o Howard and learning the new team / getting the bench respectable)
4. LAC
5. DEN
6. MEM
7. UTAH
8. GS

>
>Agendas (list below)

Enes Kanter to put up ridiculous numbers in small inutes. Like 12points , 10 rebounds in 24 mins a game

Kyrie to go backwards due to team getting worse

the other top guys all have great teammates that might split votes with them. Probably not, but it's possible. As impressed as I am with KG and Pierce, they probably won't get any MVP votes

MVP - Durant (he gets it...But he will get it mainly because voters will have Bron fatigue)

ROY - Anthony Davis (He's going to be a beast defensively and better than what people think offensively)

MIP - ????

DPOY - D. Howard

COY - Utah's coach....

MIT (most improved team) - Hornets/Brooklyn (toss up)

MRT (most regressed team) - Dallas

Sleeper team(s) - Milwaukee

Finals-- OKC vs. Miami (again!!!!)

Winner: OKC finally does it....That is if Russy doesn't go nuts....

'''''GENDAS

Rose sits out for the year....(please make this happen....)

The Bulls flame out and go for that top 3 pick...(ditto)

Lakers implode...Kobe goes Kobe...Hooray...

Just watch....

I still don't think Melo and Stat can play together...I think you guys still get in the 'off's though 7th or 8th seed...And I think Felton is going to shut a lot of people up...

As for Brooklyn, their bench is going to be crazy....Not to mention that Williams and JJ are going to be a dangerous combo....

What was their record during that period when Rose was injured?
If it wasn't best in the league during that span it was top 3 at least
plus they had a huge win over the Heat in a game that MATTERED (playoff positioning)
them getting ran by the sixers in the playoffs was more about them breaking down emotionally after losing rose AGAIN
niggas just gave up i think
but going forward i expect the coach to get them niggas ready and riled up

i'm not seeing ANYBODY talk about the bulls in the media
even bulls fans on here are acting like the team doesn't exist lol

Bulls got kicked out of the first round by Philly last year without Rose...At best they should be a 40 win team (as AB said, they should go for even less wins--i.e. tank--considering winning "just enough" games won't help them out in the long run...)

But basically this Bulls team has a different bench and they no longer have Asik, who was the defensive anchor on that second unit that played a big role in surprising teams last season...

This year, however, there will be no surprises this season for the Bulls...Unless Rose comes back....

yea i'm saying this is being overplayed
firstly the playoffs are a different animal
2ndly it's a comparison between 5 games where they lost a series to a good team (not like they lost a series to the bobcats) vs. 20+ games without Rose where they looked like the best team in the league

>
>But basically this Bulls team has a different bench and they

cmon Omer Asik...... a poor mans samuel dalembert swung the balance of power?
he's a nice lil hustle/garbage man but cmon
that bench does look like ass minus taj but i don't see where it was THAT big of a drop off. u just need cats that are willing to try on defense
45-48 games might be right i think
good enough for a 5-6 seed

Teams know what to expect this season...There will be no surprises as stated...The Bulls surprised teams last years...And a big part of that was their/Thibs' defense...But there's an issue with that...read below...

>>
>>But basically this Bulls team has a different bench and they

>
>cmon Omer Asik...... a poor mans samuel dalembert swung the

With all due respect, U know nothing about the Bulls...That's evident, homie...Did Asik deserve the money he is getting in Houston? Fuck no...NO...

But was he a defensive game changer that KILLED teams' second units...Yep...

His rebounding and defense was 1st team quality...Yep...He was one of the main reasons the Bulls had one of the best benches in the league...Just Google his per stats...Coming off the bench he was a BEAST on D...

>he's a nice lil hustle/garbage man but cmon

Again, I feel like I'm talking to someone that has no clue...lol...

>that bench does look like ass minus taj but i don't see where
>it was THAT big of a drop off. u just need cats that are

Listen man...It's this simple...Most of the Bulls' bench players from last year are gone...Asik, Brewer, Watson, Korver...

For God sake, Nate Robinson was brought in as a replacement among other underwhelming players...This is not about supers...It's about chemistry...In fact, Thibs is already going nuts about our bench...And not in a good way...

Bottom line: Eastern Conf. teams that sucked last year will be better...That includes the "Nets"...Milwaukee, ect...Hell even the Knicks will be better and I see them as a lower seed....

And those good teams that were our rivals? They will be MUCH BETTER...Philly, Indy, ect...

IF the Bulls are smart, we tank it out....Because getting 43 to 46 wins won't help us out...

GOAT of his era......long live Prince.....God is alive....

Their position? The homie is saying they willbe a 4-6 seed...I'm saying they won't...In fact, I'm saying that would be the wrong move....They need to tank...

I'm saying that they will not be as good this year without Rose (assuming he won't come back...)

Bottom line...

My differences with SPM has nothing to do with the Bulls' record however...

It's his lack of knowledge about Asik and our bench from last season...

Sammy was a serviceable starting center...But what does that have to do with the guy that anchored our second unit's defense and usually finished games for us because our starting center was either in foul trouble or hurt on the bench?

For the BULLS, Asik (and the rest of the bench that is no longer there, beyond our soon to be starting PF) was important; not important enough for 15 mil a year, but important for Thibs' defensive sets..Unless Sammy is on our team, your whole point is moot...

As usual, you are going after the wrong bait here...

Our ENTIRE BENCH has been changed...Not just Asik...And he covered a lot of mistakes for that bench...

That's the problem with your 4-6 preview, which btw, is your opinion and I'm cool with that...

My thing, I don't even want a 43-46 team...That doesn't help the Bulls one but in the long run...

I hope your prediction doesn't come true....

i just threw him out there because he's a similar type of player both style wise and ability. basically a player that's nice to have but damn sure isn't going cause a 20 game W/L swing
poor mans dalembert might be harsh cause Asik should at least be comparable 1-1 with him given the minutes but the overall point stands

>As usual, you are going after the wrong bait here...
>
>Our ENTIRE BENCH has been changed...Not just Asik...And he

i focused on asik because that's who u brought up specifically
we can talk about the ENTIRE BENCH if u want, lol
i said the bench yall have is wack
but so was the bench you had last yr (outside of taj)
it's the same bench u hated on every chance u had
how many times did you argue with allstah when he tried to big up cj watson?
and he was probably the 2nd best player on that bench (when he wasn't starting)
u never hated on korver? brewer?
now u missed them? lol
look that 2nd unit was just a "bunch of guys" playing in a system for a good defensive coach. all i'm saying is Thibs will get something out of this years unit. at least enough to not be a lottery team. and if the starting 5 plays the way they did LAST YR they should be able to grab a playoff seed

Fuck tanking...

as far as team depth...the Bulls are still in the running for the East.

Difference is, with Thibs style, we don't need a bunch of stars, we were the best record in the league with ONE real scorer and two relcutant scorers in Deng and Boozer.

we STILL have Deng and Boozer AND Rip...

Kirk is a solid player that will manage the game and Nate is a streaky scorer that can penetrate and put up numbers in THIS offense.

Taj is solid, Jimmy Butler can add depth

We replaced Korver and Brewer with Radmonovic Belinelli Marko Jaric

Nazr Mohammad and Asik are a wash

we still have NOAH as the best Defensive center not named Dwight

we are not that bad off.

and we don't know if Teague can play but if he can, that is only a plus.

We need these guys to come out hard and show what they can give to the team and get some notches on the belt and chemistry working so that when injuries do hit, we can see who can step up.

FUCK tanking, that is for pussies

Bobcats have HOW MANY top draft picks?

Nets did too before getting these FREE AGENTS that might make a difference for them.

If Nate can make us not miss CJ and Kirk can play solid combo guard and D up...
If Butler can play as well as Brewer off the bench
If Vlad and Belinelli hit the 3

We good

pending Deng and Boozer can step it up and Taj comes in and gets aggressive, we pick up where we left off and gain confidence

CONFIDENCE is what lost that Philly series, not overall talent. We got all woe is me and shit when Rose went down, and only a few players played with a pair of nuts so we need to make sure these young guys get reps in and confidence that they can beat or at least hang with the Miami's and Boston's and have no fear...then when Rose comes back, he can get more out of his team when they know their roles and adapt to his adjusting back to his game.

only teams got us faded are Miami, maybe Philly, New York, maybe Boston, Indiana....

I can't see how a bulls fan with a straight face can say Charlotte, Milwaukee, Toronto, Washington, Orlando, Cleveland, and Detroit are better than us when we were beating everyone without Rose last year reg season...

exactly
it's a defensive oriented team. play tough grind it out games and they can contend

yea i wasn't going say anything about this cause i don't know how old Nazr is at this point
but i'ma go out on a limb and assume he can give you that tall body in the paint value Asik gave

even without rose the bulls were better than the sixers talent wise last yr

it happens

I downplay our talent because over the years it's either been close but no cigar or getting kicked out the first round....And the main reason is we have no playmakers/pure scorers beyond Rose...

Thibs is a defensive genius...But that great defense will only get you so far if you have issues scoring...And that has been the trouble with my Bulls during the Rose era..

We need Rose to be Superman EVERY NIGHT...And to me, that was the main reason he got injured...Doing WAAAAY too much....

What other true contending team do you know depends as much on a player as we do with Rose?

Bron can look over his shoulder and see Wade and Bosh...Durant can count on Russy and Harden....Kobe? The same...And teams like Indy have a lot of "good" options on offense, which is why they don't have to count on one superstar...

With the Bulls, it's Rose/Deng or bust...And as much as Deng has proven himself over the years (he has become a much better 3 point shooter) he is not enough to get us over the hump to beat say Miami or OKC...And it's not about getting a superstar player...A James Harden, Rudy Gay type is all we really need....

So that's why I say tank...Because you have to protect yourself for a future in which Rose may not be the explosive Rose that embarrassed opponents...

If we get above 48 wins then that will be a HUGE surprise....And I would gladly be a cheese smiling Bulls fan...

But I'm not interested in getting in as a 7th or 8th seed...It doesn't help us in the long run...

IMO they didn't really replace the guys they lost. Nazr is NOT a wash with Asik, Vlad Rad is crappier than Korver. I never got why Brewer couldn't get more minutes there really.

I still think they could be a 7 or 8 though I guess. You got four teams in the Atlantic, Indy, Miami, after that the last two spots are way up for grabs.

And you will know MY JACKET IS GOLD when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

Mike was out playing beisbol.
Phil Jackson had Pippen, BJ, Cartwright, Kukoc & Horace Grant.
Won 55 games.

55.

Pippen was an MVP candidate.
Hue Hollins was the only thing keeping this team from facing the Rockets in the Finals.
That team playing without Mike grew, especially Pippen. He needed that.
Mike came back at they rattled off 3 more rings.

I'm hoping Deng/Noah grow this year.
Not saying they're gonna have MVP type numbers, but knowing Rose isn't coming back
is going to force them to step up like Pippen did.
Sounds like some pie in the sky type talk, but Rose coming back (NEXT fall) to a stronger
team could be better than any draft pick coming out.

So no, I don't want them to tank.

Rose getting injured obviously killed their long-term chances last year but do you know what I think lost them them the series against Philly? The absence of Noah.

He was just bending the Sixers over, absolute mismatch for them. Had he played with Rose out, they'd have won the series in six or seven games.

They have depth, they have size, they play good team defense and they will find a way to score. I don't think looking at the time he was out is always the best way to do things though. I mean like Lucas balled out for a stretch, barely played later in the year. Hard to expect them to duplicate it exactly. But they do have a nice, deep rotation with a bunch of strong defenders. That is good enough to at least get a low seed.

And you will know MY JACKET IS GOLD when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

Definitely pro-Lin, but I think that team is garbage so this year is gonna be tough.

I think I'm hopping on the pro-Melo bandwagon.

Nets will be a lot better, but I think they've handicapped themselves for the next few years with those contracts.

This isn't really an agenda, and I've said this before, but I like Old Kobe. He always used to be an asshole AND he wanted to be liked. You can't have both, so now he's just an asshole and he looks a lot more comfortable. His legacy is sealed, and he doesn't care what anyone says about him.

Kawhi Leonard: Possible MIP, but all his #s are going up.

Jeremy Lin: all his #s are gonna go up (cuz of minutes), including turnovers.

LeBron James: his numbers are gonna go down. Heat's gonna coast until Feb.

Knicks and Nets won't make the playoffs.

Klay Thompson and Steph Curry are gonna be fighting for "Prettiest light-skinned" award on the Warriors...who won't be making it to the playoffs but will still have a better record than the Kings.

baby spice got Monta traded like Melo got the Knicks to not match Lin offer. Maybe it's just me cuz (even tho he got a jumper early in his career) i'm not sold on Curry. His rise to the face of franchise passing up mumbling Monta (before the trade) was sickening. He wasn't there during the playoff run!

now klay here comes klay...

we'll see when they're actually coaching not to tank next season

but he was better than expected. not the slam dunk a J Lamb might have been, but I blame that on typical "no plan B" planning. they wanted MKG, Jordan must have kept his cigars out of the draft room that day

he's sort of a Tristan drafting. "better with time"

from http://www.cavstheblog.com/

"In the 33 games from January 1st until his injury on March 18th, Dion Waiters averaged twenty-points per thirty-six minutes. His PER climbed to 16.3, his Offensive Rating hit 104, with usage of 26.6 (those numbers thanks to the esteemed Randall Cooper of laughingcavs.com). Once Dion quit routinely hoisting off-balance jumpers and instead persistently attacked, his age-21 performance compares reasonably with several other recent guards**.

A list includes: James Harden 16.4 PER, 119 orating, 19.5 usage; Eric Gordon 14.1 PER, 107 ORtg, 21.5 usage; Russell Westbrook 17.8 PER, 105 ORtg, 25.7 usage; Dwyane Wade (age 22) 17.6 PER, 101 ORtg, 25 usage; Jamal Crawford, 15.3 PER, 102 ORtg, 21.5 usage; J.R. Smith 15.6 PER, 112 ORtg, 22.8 usage. Not saying he will match all of those guys, but the Dion we saw in 2013 performed admirably."

long run, instead being on a lottery team where he'd be expected to be "the man" he can ease in as a role player on winning team full of vets, Boston is the perfect situation for him.

A whole new roster, bunch of young players.

This team isn't really built to compete as a top tier this season.

This is about being a playoff team, getting Bynum acclimated, and seeing what else you have worth keeping.

Nothing to be disappointed about with that. They changed the personality of the team and also the perception this summer.

Miami is the cream of the crop.

Everybody else is runner up material. It's not like any other team is seeing them in the east.

So it's really miami and then a bunch of teams fighting for the right to go 5-6 games in the ECF. No upper echelon, just miami. LOL

i think the sixers will be a bit above .500 and compete for the 6/7/8 slot.

they lost their best all-around player, best scorer and second-best defensive player. on the upside, they got a young all-star center and a bunch of shooters. seems lateral, in terms of competing this season.

but this year is about resigning bynum (providing his knees are decent) and seeing if jrue is worth resigning as the PG of the future. i don't expect anything out of turner, but thad could be great. bynum is the perfect complement for an undersized, slashing PF and young has been fantastic in the preseason (15/7 on nearly 60% shooting).

i think the knicks have a chance to be very good (not in a way that threatens miami, but to compete with boston for the atlantic), but neither they nor the nets are clearly head and shoulders above the sixers right now. there's a good chance those three teams are intertwined in the standings all season.

Sacramento gonna just miss out on the playoffs.
Minnesota will make it in just barely, but on a hot streak. They going to be top 4 in the West next year.

Chicago will be dumb for not tanking completely.
G State will regret trading Monta and not Steph.
Carmelo will have his best season since his WCF run. Maybe better.

Lin will look good in Houston. Rondo-lite. Still gonna be overrated, mostly due to hype, partly due to inconsistent j and lots and lots of TO's. I hope China doesn't vote his ass in to the ASG.

Kyrie will be the 5th best point in the L this year and make his 1st ASG.

CP3
Deron
Rondo
Russy
Kyrie

TP
Lawson

John Wall will make a big improvement.

People are going to sleep on Kyle Lowry. He might fuck around and make the ASG.

The most underrated player in the league is Brandan Wright. Real shit.

3-6 in the East could be in any order, it's going to be dumb close. But no way Indy don't finish second in that weak ass division, not when the entire Atlantic will make the playoffs.

The West is still absurdly better than the East.

LeBron will have one of the all-time greatest seasons in history.

Yeesh. I don't even like Brown, I just thought they'd run through the West for the most part.

edit: also, I apologize to the Bobcats. The Wizards appear to have taken your place.

ther than Chicago who hopefully winds up 4/5 seed, no one else should stand in knicks way of ECF.

Boston maybe goes 6 games, but shouldn't even go that far.

-The Knicks’ coaching search still includes a lone frontrunner, Kurt Rambis, whose qualifications for the position include a strong relationship with Jackson and a willingness to take the job.

the team plays much smarter than they did with d'antoni...taking smart 3's off of melo isos, ball movement and penetration and cutting down on silly and sloppy turnovers.

As for the defense, they run much smaller teams than d'antoni did..clearly this is woody's preference but now with the injuries they have no choice. As a whole anyone with a brain has more confidence in woody's knicks getting crucial 4th qtr stops than d'antoni teams. Healthy bodies allowing it, we'll need a more conventional lineup in the playoffs against teams like Chicago and Indiana.

woodson didn't change anything except slow down the tempo. the difference is that kidd/prig/felton came in as perimeter players, amare's injury allowed melo to play the four, and anthony stopped fucking up the spacing by creeping towards the ball. do you think d'antoni didn't want melo to stay put behind the arc and take more threes last season? lulz

but anyway, i'm not sure why you're even bringing up d'antoni, who was coaching the knicks LAST SEASON.

all i do is try to explain what's factually happening and you guys construe it as "opinion" or "agenda." i don't even have agendas anymore

Melo iso's gave D'antoni a headache and Woodson specifically said there'd be many more melo iso's in the offense...because no one can guard him one and one. Immediately the knicks improved..18-6 last season.. 51-26 this season.

Seriously, what are you even arguing?

Not to mention D'Antoni had your team MVP Chandler all season, and according to you a better PG in Jeremy Lin, along with STAT longer than Woodson

the problem was that there wasn't a PG (or shooters, really) for most of the season and carmelo was sabotaging the offense. this isn't debatable, it's history.

woodson has done a fine job. i like him. it just boggles my mind that knicks fans are vehemently anti-d'antoni but ride for someone who basically kept the same system in place. the knicks defense is substantially worse this year, yet not a PEEP about how wooden can't coach defense or their "system" is only built for the regular season.

He took dantoni shit and made it better. That's what a good coach does.

lol D'antoni sabotaged the offense by burying lin on the bench while having melo run point. Melo resurrected the offense by telling toni to play Lin and then by getting d'antoni fired.

are you talking about some of the throwaway predictions above, like NOLA being a sleeper team? yeah, there were some minor ones that got derailed because of injuries (minny being good, etc).

but, as you likely know, i've been pretty vocal about my main ones:

denver top five team
harden best offensive SG in the NBA
asik/lin good signings
houston making the playoffs (which NO ONE else said)
knicks second in the east
philly being no better than last year (wash due to bynum)
austin rivers and evan turner sucking
