and I caught flack over it. What did Elway see to make him pay a dude all that jack when he hadn't proved he could be viable in GAME situations? Dude was coming off neck surgery. If they needed someone to hurl it for a Hail Mary, they were gonna use the backup, cuz Peyton's passes can't go that far.
Of course, this post ignored that Peyton's value comes with his brain and his ability to make those shorter pass plays STILL kill you in his advanced age.
