but i think it's the kind of high point that people remember instead of looking at the big picture.

you can look at that and the stats and say "well he's a solid 2nd/3rd team all nba and sometimes he steps it up."

but melo-moments seem to get people transfixed.

even if they can't possibly make him top 5 when (doing more or less what he does) bron and dirk have won titles and durant has gotten to the finals during his time in the league. even pierce and ray managed to claw their way up there.

the knicks are just the heat without lebron after all.

amare - starting pf
billups - starting pg

last season

amare - starting pf
lin - starting pg
shumpert - starting sg
davis - backup pg

Please tell me what superstar in the nba is winning a playoff series with those type of injuries?

the team he 'picked' has had severe injuries. You've failed to acknowledge that. Sure, if he came to the knicks as is and they've lost with the main components of that team, then using the teammates as a reason would be unfair, but when you are missing your starting pf and pg or your starting pf,sg, pg and backup pg, for parts or all of a series and you want to ignore it, its kinda disingenuous on your part.

He dropped 42pts, 17rebs and 6asts
He passed to Jeffries that blew a layup at the buzzer (and KG scored on him after Melo gave them the lead)

Saying he's swept just looking at that is a little disingenious

You said Melo sucks in games that matter, that's why I posted his playoff stats from the last few years.

For the record, I'd put Melo top 10 right now, not top 5.

And Rondo is nowhere near the top 5, as good as he is.

as far as the nba..if bron or durant had the sample size of "games that matter" that melo does they would be considered busts.

No one can say Melo is better than anyone of the above, not one of these players

all have accomplished more than him individually and team wise

Melo is only a scorer and not a very efficient one at that (42% last season)...he has yet to get beyond the 1st round but once (even though he's been on some pretty good teams) and he's now going into his 10th season. There has been no marked improvement in any facet of his game that doesn't include scoring...its true.

There are other players that are on the rise and will be moving him further down on that 2nd tier of players but for now he's barely better than these players (K-Love/Kyrie/Westbrook/Gasol/Aldridge/Harden)

than Melo...Dirk knows how to play and won't disrupt a team's offense w/his game as Melo did all last season. Dirk is still one of the purest shooters in the game and presents a mismatch whenever he's on the court. And to show you that Dirk is still a top 10 player, he averaged nearly 27ppg and shoulda WON BOTH THOSE GAMES IN OKC...

Dirk on last season's Knicks wouldn't have disrupted the offense and wouldn't need to take as many shots as Melo...and lastly, the Knicks woulda had a better season w/Dirk on their squad than they did w/Melo.

Even in that 18-6 run they went on late in the season?

Dirk averaged 27 a game and "SHOULD'VE WON"....LOL. Melo scored a lot of points and "almost" led his severely undermanned team(much worse than Dallas) to a few wins too.

Gotta love when sports fans give certain players some slack for "almosts" and "should'ves" and "weak teammates", but then go out of their way to shit on other players and give them no such slack.

bottom line...Dirk is a better basketball player than Melo and the ONLY reason why you all are saying he isn't NOW is because Dirk is in the twilight of his career but he's always been regarded as a better player than Melo and I'd rather have him on my squad than Carmelo.

Well, he shot .500 from the field and averaged 30 ppg in April, while the Knicks went 9-4....so I guess it was a good idea for him to shoot a lot at the time. The Knicks went 3-1 when Amare came back at the end of the year, and thenlost in 5 to Miami with Amare missing a game.....he wasn't healthy even when playing. Jeremy Lin never came back.....I'm starting to think you don't really know what you're talking about and are just throwing shit at the wall and seeing what sticks.

>>Dirk averaged 27 a game and "SHOULD'VE WON"....LOL. Melo

So Dirk is still better? Or Dirk's better because he used to be better and has better career accomplishments? It's not really clear what stance you are taking.

Dirk was better. But for this coming season and beyond? I'd rather have Melo.

MVP or any significant accolade but somehow he's a top ten player....

maybe he's a top 10 talent but he is definitely NOT in the top 10 best players in the league.

Melo, on the other hand, has size and strength over Iverson as he does over most of the ppl guarding him and he's nowhere near the scorer that Iverson was.

so try again...I'm batting a 1000% right now

criticizing iverson for low fg% is silly. those years when he was shooting 40% were when the sixers' strategy was to have him fling up shots while surrounding him with defensive players and rebounders. when GOAT played on teams when he wasn't forced to carry the whole load--both in philly and denver--his FG% normalized to a perfectly solid 45%.

1997 .461 on 18 fg (with stackhouse and coleman)
2005 .447 on 25 fg
2006 .442 on 20 fg
2007 .458 on 19 fg

of course a guy who led the league in minutes while being burdened with providing offense for a starting lineup of ratliff, snow, lynch and hill saw his inefficiency damaged.

iverson was surrounded with defensive players and rebounders in philly because he wanted to fling up shots instead of share the ball with other scorers. glad carmelo was able to make iverson more efficient and elevated AI's season FG% to melo's career average though.

He's 46% from the field in his career, don't cherry pick stats. He wasn't healthy most of last year.

I remember when Garnett used to get criticized by a segment of fans for not being able to get out of the first round(but once...they overlooked his conf. finals run just like Melo's), and he was a better player in Minnesota than he was/is in Boston.

team would take a point guard who w/championship meddle over a ball hog...

If they were both free agents, Parker would be the 1st option just as D-Will was when he and Melo were both free agents two seasons ago.

dude said I'm cherry picking lmao...ok, his career average is actually 45.6% so I assume you're rounding it out

But KG was always a terrific ALL AROUND player and everyone knew he wasn't surrounded by any real championship contending teams but he was always a 20/10/5 player and SHOT OVER 50% from the floor...

I look at Melo and I see how his game is a hindrance to his team...why do you think ppl keep saying he and Amare don't fit? because all both do is shoot the ball and nothing more. If Melo was really as good as some of you all think he is he'd figure out to adjust his game as good/great players do to accomodate his teammates but he can't because he's just a scorer, bottom line.

Parker finished 5th last year.....and didn't really have any chance in hell at getting it. Melo finished 6th in MVP voting in 2010, yet you said he's never been a serious candidate. So, 5th = serious candidate, but 6th = not serious candidate. FOH. Melo has been in the top 15 of MVP voting more times than Parker, and has made more All NBA teams than Parker too.

Yeah......when you're taking .456 down to two digits, it rounds to 46%, not 45%. That's how rounding works. That's his %, if you're going two digits. But I bet you know that, you just rounded the way you wanted, in order to support your "argument" just a little more.

Yeah, KG was always a terrific player.....just like Melo has been. And KG also got criticized just like Melo sometimes gets. The only difference when Minn. made the conference finals was in his teammates.....they got him Sprewell and Cassell and they both played well in 2004. Same thing with Melo and Chauncey in 2009. Put Melo on the Celtics over the last 5 years, and he'd have an NBA title too.

based on what he did for that Spurs team, that how I defined it...

I think he got overlooked because his numbers on paper didn't look as impressive as the other candidates (18ppg 8dimes 48%fg) but using the eye test, he was just as worthy of being in the discussion as any other player

you said Melo finished 6th? I'm not so sure abt that...but even if he did, I don't remember anyone making a case that he was deserving of the award (Bron probably won it that year unanimously if Melo finished 6th lol)

ok, good for him but in case you didnt realize, that's a HORRIBLE PCT. to shoot from the floor when you take as many shots as Melo does. There's a reason why he leads the league in "ball stoppage" when it comes to him...

No, he wouldn't...because that would mean he would have to replace Pierce and there's no way he would fit w/Garnett and Allen as well as Paul Pierce did because the latter three adjusted their games to make the team better as a unit but Melo hasn'ty proven to be able to do that...so no, I don't believe for one second if you replaced him w/Paul Pierce the Celtics would've won a title.

I didn't make that up, that's a fact. I ain't even responding to that other BS you typed about that. You were wrong.

46% is not "horrible" for a small forward. It would be horrible for a PF or C who takes most of their shots in the paint, but it's not horrible for a go to SF. For the record, Paul Pierce's(who you just gave props to) career % is .448, and yes that rounds to 45%.

I absolutely believe Boston would've won if they had Melo instead of Pierce....because Melo is better than Pierce and your point that he can't play with others is pure BS. He can't win with scrubs, but he can play with others if you give him someone to play with. See 2009. See how well he fits in the Olympics and International play. You're trying to paint him with that malcontent gunner loser brush, and that's just flat out incorrect.

in terms of how much he brings to a team. and tony did actually carry his team through the past two. with injuries and old and nobodies even.

bringing up garnett ain't saving melo either. garnett wasn't the best and he won when he got on a great team. melo prob could win a title with a legit top 5 teammate or a smattering of all stars too.

Of course he's top 5 in terms of scoring ability but lawdy b when his shot isn't falling or he's struggling offensively on a whole, he becomes a bit useless at times. He's average to below average on defense, he doesn't pass or facilitate on a whole well (you can count how many double digit assist games he's had in the last few years on one hand and without some fingers), and often drifts through games only looking for his shot.

Basically, he's a tremendous scorer. Top 3 or 4 even. But he's missing IT imo.

laugh.

>he doesn't pass or facilitate on a whole well (you can count how many double digit assist games he's had in the last few years on one hand and without some fingers)

What #1 scoring forwards in the league besides LBJ are racking up double digit assist numbers?
I just thought of Paul pierce, not sure who else though. Point being, Paul and bron are more like the exceptions as opposed to the rule.

ie durant has never had a double digit assist game

-The Knicks’ coaching search still includes a lone frontrunner, Kurt Rambis, whose qualifications for the position include a strong relationship with Jackson and a willingness to take the job.

I laf at all you who are writing Wade off...

He had a legitimate excuse as to why he was up and down last season...nagging injuries/shortened season and Bron was doing his thing but this season w/rest and a full training camp I'm already on record saying Wade will have a great season and no matter where you or I rank Wade in the top, the bottom line is....HE'S STILL HEAD AND SHOULDERS BETTER THAN MELO LOL which is what we're debating

better than Wade...so go figure.

Wade will BALL OUT THIS SEASON...WATCH AND SEE

That dude is a competitor and I'm sure he didn't like ppl writing him off last season and saying he's lost a step as well as the criticism in the postseason he got and ppl saying the Heat were a better team w/o him. I think this will quietly motivate him to come back w/a strong season and shut up all the naysayers. Now that we know after the fact that he was hurt most of the season, he deserves a past imo

A healthy Wade is easily top 5 as far as I'm concerned.

First off the 43% he shot last season, was the worst he had since his rookie year. He is a career 45% shooter from the field.

He has had better rebounding numbers and blocked shots since leaving Denver which would lead the average person to believe he has played more defense.

Melo is easily top 10.

The only player who are better than him clearly are Bron, Durant, Howard, Paul, Love and Rose

You can argue right today that he is better than Kobe all around and Deron as well as Rondo

Bynum would round out my top 10

ok, tell me what they were last season and lets see how significant the differences are compared to what he did in Denver? his numbers are relatively the same

rookie of the year
several first team all nba
multiple defensive team awards
led league in steals and assists
better playoff win percentage and all around stats
the same shitty franchise and injury excuses, but he'd probably get irate if you mentioned excuses to him.

i'm pretty sure team melo includes a lot of the better! crowd so we could prob have em argue themselves, but i'm fine with both being nebulous top 10ish guys.

Helped Knicks achieve their 1st winning season in 10 years & 1st playoff birth after missing 6 str8 years.

I'm not for or against anyone per say but Melo has a few accomplishments.

CP3 SHOULD ALREADY HAVE ONE MVP ON HIS RESUME

Yes, he deserved the one Kobe got in 2008 and finished in the top 5 last season voting...

he's been out of the 1st round more than one time and hasn't been in the league as long as Melo. He immediately turned the CLIPPERS AROUND FROM BEING THE LAUGHING STOCK OF THE LEAGUE TO A SERIOUS CONTENDER IN THE WEST...

think about it: bron, howard, durant, cp3.

after that, i have a group that includes melo, kobe, deron, and rondo. and i think that goes in that order, so i do have melo in the top five.

if rose wasn't hurt he'd be fourth or fifth, but he's hurt.

EDIT: fuck, i forgot dirk, who's fourth. melo 6.

they swept the awards that year for a reason, they had a helluva season. those nuggets were nothing special, you want to talk about easy roads through the west. they beat utah, whooptydamndoo. turned back into pumpkins against the lake show. somehow iverson made it out of the first round pretty routinely, how about ya boy? he couldnt get to the ECF with a two seed and homecourt. iverson's teams never lost a series with homecourt advantage, ever.

And you will know MY JACKET IS GOLD when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

this board that when he's ON he's as good as anyone when it comes to scoring

but

unfortunately, he's OFF more than he is on and to the detriment to his team oftentimes.

He is NOT a leader....he hasn't made any real improvements in any part of his game since he's been in the league which is the mark of a player who works on their game in the offseason...he doesn't make anyone better...

I gotta agree with vee lover on this. Melo is trash, and one of the most overrated players to ever play the game.

1. like his fellow hoopster from the same "I can't shoot" womb, kobe byrant, he has never shot 50 percent in a season. He is a career 43-45 percent shooter, just like kobe. also, he has terrible shot selection, just like kobe.

2. He is a ball hog, and is a greater ball hog than iverson ever was. AI got philly to the chip, not so much with anthony, and he played on some championship worthy teams.

3. He is lazy, and lacks the fundamentals to really be a complete player. He does not play defense, and even though his everyday persona is very reticent, his basketball game is egotistical.

KD came along and took his mantle, and showed him how a pure talent is supposed to play.

he's a very sloppy player, and he even married a sloppy woman in lala vasquez.....they're perfect for each other.

His star player label is nominal.

-The Knicks’ coaching search still includes a lone frontrunner, Kurt Rambis, whose qualifications for the position include a strong relationship with Jackson and a willingness to take the job.

So you criticize Carmelo's FG% by never shooting 50% but at the same time praise AI even though he never came close to 50%, and shot below 40% TWICE in his career...wow

You realize that the only things that KD does better than Melo statistically speaking is PPG & FG%. Melo actually passes the ball more, and their rebounding & steals are about equal. So Melo shoots slightly worse and passes the ball more and KD is showing people how a "pure talent" is supposed to play?

>he's a very sloppy player, and he even married a sloppy woman

You're bringing up shit that doesn't even have to do with basketball. Now I know that you're truly lost. You don't even know if it's true. You're probably mad that they didn't have Melo's in your size

You cut on his wife, you brought up shit that has nothing to do with basketball, you rounded DOWN his FG% to prove a point that got smashed, "and yet you hate" (c) Bartek

In response to Reply # 174

I really gotta explain how rounding works to grown ass men, twice now in this thread? Maybe there's a correlation between not correctly using capital letters in your user name to not knowing how rounding works.

And these are Melo's shooting %'s by season in his career: 43, 43, 48, 48, 49, 44, 46, 46, 43.

So he's been above your "43-45" range in 5 seasons. He's only actually been in that 43-45 range in 4 seasons.....so no, his FG% usually "hovers" above 43-45%. Nice try though.

I'd stick to saying off topic things(like going at his wife - nice touch - real classy) that can't factually be proven wrong in your little bullshit agenda. When you try to go with numbers, you better be right because some of us pay attention, and it's easy enough to look it up.

.456 does not equal 46 percent ...it equals 45.6 percent, which is 456 thousandsth of 1

sorry, pal.

yeah, like you said people who know numbers pay attention ...

but argue that extra percent if you want ....he still sucks. and 46 percent is a sorry ass shooting percentage for a supposedly mega star player.

all the great shooters have shot 50 percent once or twice in their career, if not for their total career......

carmelo hasn't done that, because he is not great, or close to it.

good day. soccer is on

When you take it down to two digits, .456% goes to .46%, not .45%.

I mean, if 46% sucks anyway(supposedly), then why not just type it in the first place? Either you don't know how to round correctly, or you're being a little dishonest. One or the other.

Also, way to edit both of your responses, and way to completely ignore that you were WRONG on his FG% usually hovering around 43-45%. In reality, he's been in the 46%-49% range in 5 out of 9 seasons.

Stick to soccer. It's probably a lot easier to wrap your mind around simple numbers like the typical 2-1 final scores in that boring ass sport.

Trying to pass him off as a poor 43-45% shooter, when 46-49% shooter is more statistically accurate(if you're really hung up on using a range).

It was dishonest, and really a poor point to try to make in the first place, because he's one of the best offensive players in the league and everybody knows that.

Don't get all sarcastic and salty now, just take the L on that part and then stick to the "lazy, reticent, egotistical, sloppy wife, shoes don't sell" BS that nobody will waste their time with.

there are far better players in the league than Melo, so not top 10(unless you go off of scoring and don't consider leadership and other parts of the game), but he cracks top 15 fairly easily. Reality is, Melo is just not that good, and definitely not as good as he was supposed to be.

For instance:

Lebron
D12
Rose
Deron
Rondo
Durant
Westbrook
Bean
Wade
Dirk
Tony Parker
Andrew Bynum (yeah, he is)

in leading their team to at least the NBA Finals or a chip? Plus, all of these guys are better individual and team players than Melo. So it really isn't arguable at all. And even with Deron Williams, I'd find it hard to believe that in this day and age, any sane person would take Melo over him. Melo has already reached his peak. He's not going to get any better. He's not going to lead a team anywhere. He needs to be the #2 guy on a team with a real star. He's in the same league as Joe Johnson and Rudy Gay. Guys that are good, but not THAT GUY

>in leading their team to at least the NBA Finals or a chip?
>Plus, all of these guys are better individual and team players

So? This isn't a lifetime achievement list, is it? Kobe, Wade, and Dirk were all better than Melo before. I'm not sure they are now. It's arguable.

So it really isn't arguable at all. And even with
>Deron Williams, I'd find it hard to believe that in this day
>and age, any sane person would take Melo over him. Melo has
>already reached his peak. He's not going to get any better.

You can argue that Williams has already peaked too. We'll see. They are the same age. What has Williams done that Melo hasn't though? I'd argue that Melo has had a better career to this point.

>He's not going to lead a team anywhere. He needs to be the #2
>guy on a team with a real star. He's in the same league as Joe
>Johnson and Rudy Gay. Guys that are good, but not THAT GUY

The problem with that "he'll never lead a team to a title" shit is that's been said about A LOT of players.....who went on to lead their teams to titles. It takes the right situation, which for a lot of great players doesn't happen.

The Joe Johnson/Rudy Gay thing is just laughable. Not even close.

Your words from earlier..."what have you done for me lately?.....is not 49 percent..." Yeah, Williams shot 50% in 2008. But you dismissed Melo's 49% because it wasn't recent enough. By the way, Williams shot 41% last year which is worse than Melo has ever shot, so I guess you can add that to the list of things he's done that Melo hasn't. Williams' career FG % is .455, by the way. Melo is .456.

"Make teammates better"....yeah, come with more opinion, subjective bullshit that is completely meaningless, especially when it comes from your biased ass.

>you don't want me to continue

Actually, out of purely morbid curiousity, I do. What you got?

And since you're obsessed with FG%, Boozer had his ONLY sub .500% season playing with Deron.

Going into the year, have those guys for this season, yes, clearly. If we are opening up age disparities, nah, because then you'd just see the thread flooded with every promising player with a decent contract.

Williams had a down year, too, now is not the time to be talking him up. I didn't see him enough in jersey but I would have taken Utah Deron over Melo in either of his stops.

How far would a team led by bynum, westbrook, parker, rondo go?

An already one-dimensional player--don't tell me about his rebounding, it went down and he is a rebounder like Dirk is a rebounder--has his numbers and efficiency drop on a team that accomplished absolutely nothing and he gets moved up?

I could see him argued at No. 7, seems more like top 15 than top 10 though.

I think one can argue that Melo is Top 10. It's much easier to argue otherwise. I still don't think Durant is really any better than Melo.

Dirk is easily top 10.

But I think their games are pretty comparable. I don't find KD's defense or rebounding to be particularly noteworthy. Durant is a great great scorer, but so is Melo.

I've stated before on this board, but Durant's media darling status has benefited him tremendously. He's clearly an elite player just entering his prime, but I don't consider him to be moving towards some sort of GOAT levels like the machine would lead you to believe.

We are talking about a five-year gap in age/experience and Durant is already at least noticeably better. Durant's D and rebounding are getting better. We saw what he could do on the glass in college, I always thought that part of his game would take time to mature. Melo mostly sags off and grabs defensive boards, Dirk Nowitzki-esque. I could see Durant becoming a very good defender but like all offensive stars he'll have to manage his exertion at that end to stay fresh.

Durant's numbers at this stage of his career are very very similar to where Melo's were at the same stage.

To be fair, though... Durant was not very good for his first two years, whereas Melo entered the league a bit more ready.

If the Knicks fizzle he's going to hear it loud from the NY fans. But honestly, I don't see the Knicks as being any better than 4th in the conference this year.

there is no reason that either of those two should be sniffing a top 10 list?

there's some quality New York Knickerbockers hate going on up in this post. i'm loving it. it's been a long time since we got this much hate. feels good, feels right.

Rose is def. a top 10 talent but he's either gon have to change his game or he's gonna get injured every year. I'm waiting to see what his altered game is like.

melo's a very good scorer, but not in the same category as durant, bron or harden in terms of doing it efficiently. this year, he's in a group with guys like kobe, curry, wade and kyrie (although he scores more a game than them).

but otherwise, he's average or below average at most things for a SF/PF: lousy assist/turnover ratio, few blocks/steals, mediocre defense. there's nothing any different about his game this season than in the past, outside of smartly taking a lot more threes.

I can't put Harden and Wessy over Melo. Harden needs to do it more, and Wessy is just too combustible. This time next year, I think both Rie and Dwight are ahead of Melo, but they're not right now. When Dwyane Wade is intereted he's probably still better than Melo, but he's rarely interested.

look at this shit, b

he's a significantly more efficient scorer and notches twice as many assists and steals. per game, melo only averages one more rebound than harden, even though he's been playing PF (6 to 5).

and creeped closer to 5.

I just hope we can get him to a postseason with some dudes that'll go to war with him. till then.......siiiiigh.

-The Knicks’ coaching search still includes a lone frontrunner, Kurt Rambis, whose qualifications for the position include a strong relationship with Jackson and a willingness to take the job.

he carried a team to the 2nd seed primarily off iso ball

there's only a handful of elite players in the league who can do that

his FGA and shooting pct has dropped since the trade, but in Oakland he was quietly one of the league's best scorers

he just wasn't making anyone around him better or playing defense (typical scorer shit).. so he had to go

not saying Melo does any of those either, but the fact that he could carry the knicks that far says a lot about the caliber of player we're looking at here.

he had one great year before the moped accident and has been shitty since. last year he had a FG of 41% and 3PT of 28% -- and it's not like he even gets to the line that much. he's only "elite" in the sense that he takes a lot of shots.

melo doesn't do shit but score, but he's way better than monta at getting buckets efficiently.

We were SO CLOSE Melo my man....

He's still by far my favorite player to watch in the league, but these six weeks have mostly felt like those bullshit games you get online in 2K where the Shot Meter is saying you hit an A+ shot and it's still rimming out, then your drives aren't workin' and you aren't getting foul calls, suddenly you gotta bring Steve Novak in at the 4 just IN CASE they run the 1-3-1...

Just head shaking and not on some Waka Flocka, week after week.

let's take out the guys who's teams didn't even make it out of the first round:

>Lebron
>Durant
>Wade
>Rose
>Westbrook

Chicago and OKC could only muster 1 win in the second round (not Rose or Westbrook fault, but hey, i didn't make this stupid list). Melo won two games:

>Lebron
>Wade

Wade doesn't belong on this list. he had the team all to himself before his buddies showed up. couldn't even get out of the first round:

>Lebron = the only legit dude on this list.

and anyone who says they'd build a team with 34 yr old Kobe instead of 28 yr old Melo is clearly a comedian.

Since your basis for Parker being better up above was him being a "serious" MVP candidate last year when he finished 5th, I guess Melo's passed him by now since he was 3rd(more serious than Parker has ever been!) and Parker 6th?

MeLLo being the losingest 'superstar' in the playoffs the past 30 years & has exactly zero iconic postseason moments are things we can actually quantify or have actually witnessed without having to speculate on how he spends his free time (although we can speculate that working hard on his frame & his game probably don't come into play).

Saturday bet Oxbow to win & to place in the Preakness, got a good bike ride in along the beach, came home to grill some food then watch the Knicks lose, Sunday did some humping, Monday had a productive stress-free day with the boss out all day at a conference.

Today looks like the end of that good day streak: dentist appointment, then DMV, then work meeting all before lunch.

Glad you're heeding my meditation advice though and eating well, better way of coping than that shame-eating MeLLo's doing at his crib eating his Little Ceasar's Supreme while drinking a quart of Chocolate Milk watching 'Real Housewives'.

carmelo got the perfect squad for stat padding. toronto got landry fields as their second biggest long term investment and they still the 3 seed.

interesting

-The Knicks’ coaching search still includes a lone frontrunner, Kurt Rambis, whose qualifications for the position include a strong relationship with Jackson and a willingness to take the job.

he has some good moves, but he's more prone to turnovers than most 3s of his stature

and holds onto the ball when he gets it as a result.

And that is saying nothing bad about PG.

Because Carmelo Anthony is a spectacular basketball
player whose prime was wasted on awful teams. It happens.

People are just so, so, so mad.

not a weak spot on that team. But on the flip side, the Knicks are actually worse than Cleveland? That's like wtf.

They should be much better

Kyrie, Dion and Luol are all light years better than
any Knick not named Carmelo

The Knicks have the worst team in the league outside
of their best player

But the thing is that Carmelo is virtually blameless in this. He upped his rebounding, he's still scoring at the same rate, he's defending better, he's blocking more shots, there is no way that he can be blamed for what's happening

The Knicks should be better than Cleveland...the problem is that damn near every Knick outside of Carmelo is playing like dogshit (except Hardaway Jr). The expectations were high on everyone and only Melo lived up to them. Everyone else mailed in the season

I can't see how the NYK can clear their roster and improve enough to matter by next year

I think he goes to the LAL and teams with Kobe and Nash

and whoever else they can get after they clear their roster

IDK, the NYK aren't turning it around anytime soon

and I think Melo might realize he's wasting his time and talent

the longer it takes him to win a chip

just my $.02
