-The Knicks’ coaching search still includes a lone frontrunner, Kurt Rambis, whose qualifications for the position include a strong relationship with Jackson and a willingness to take the job.

one is saying the star of one team outperformed the star of the other in the 4th quarter. the other is saying the star of one team did not match the production he had in the first 3 quarters when the numbers work out to be nearly identical.

but that's not the comparison ESPN was making. they were only addressing this game, and in this game his 4th quarter was on par with the first 3.

lost control of the game? The fact that he made only 2 of his 6 fg attempts isn't relevant?

your obsession has blinded you, i'm worried about you truth.

outside of FG% (which is a small sample size/is really just one more missed FG) his numbers were nearly identical to his production through 3 quarters. ESPN's graphic implied that his numbers were much worse than the previous 3 quarters when they weren't. I really don't see how you fail to grasp this concept. No one here is even defending Bron (I, for one, am cheering for the Thunder), we're shitting on ESPN for doing a bad stat comparison. Bron has caused you to go so far off the deep end that anytime someone even brings him up you don't even read it before responding "BRON??? WHY AREN'T YOU CRITICIZING BRON???!!!"

if he had made one more basket he would have been at 50% for the 4th but fact of the matter is he DIDN'T. Meanwhile the other stars in the game steped up their play in the 4th. No I'm not giving Lebron a pass for shit, I hear you bitches on here nitpick Kobe about every little negative statistical detail but mf's want to get all sensitive about Lebron, FOH

7 is close to 1/3rd of 23.

2 is close to 1/3rd of 7

His FTs were better.

Not to mention I'm rooting against Bron and I laughed when he scored only 7 in the 4th. This has nothing to do with him, ESPN is being made fun of and would be if this was about Kobe or anyone else.

just stop, you're embarrassing yourself.

and managed to present it in perhaps the only way that would cause them to lose it.

I disagree with the link that the LeBron isn't clutch argument is a dead issue (LeBron got outduled by the guy he's supposedly better than), I was more laughing at ESPN's incompetence.

They both aim to show LeBron's not clutch.

One compares LeBron and Durant, and Durant's numbers are much better than LeBron.

The other compares LeBron's 4th quarter stats to what he did earlier, and they are pretty much the exact same.

One makes a point, the other doesn't.

Not sure why this is so hard to understand.

The game, bc it is very nit picky and yes they won, so I would have never brought it up.

BUT since y'all are talking about, let's not pretend it was a great shot, esp since a 2pter makes it a 2 possession game anyway.

You calling that a great shot, tells me you don't understand basketball.

I keep telling you - the Knicks will be alright, relax.

What I'm saying is that Lebron 3 was him going for the jugular - and
he got a clean look and just missed it. It would've been a great shot had
it gone in. Shot clock was winding down and that was the cleanest look
he could've got in that situation.

I would want him to shoot it again. Love that he went for the dagger.

From what I remember, he let the shot clock wind down...he had plenty of time to get a better look..lol @ you insinuating that that was the best shot he could get up with the shot clock running down.

I tried looking for a video of that play but can't find it.

You have to understand the situation. Miami is up 2 with less than 30 seconds left. Both a 2 or 3 pointer make it a 2 possession game. Either way you get a stop or hit your free throws and you win the game. Being that Lebron is much better getting to the rim than shooting 3's, a drive and layup or short jumper is going for the jugular as much as 3. the difference is taking it to the rack is a much better shot then a contested 3.

>I would want him to shoot it again. Love that he went for the

If we are celebrating him wanting to take a shot, then yes go crazy. That doesn't mean it was a great shot, or his best option in that situation.

really was as big of a shot as one can hit. Ice from lebron tonight, and they needed
every bit of it.

def was a foul on lebron - but KD got away w/ a bogus 'block' call when
he clearly charged. These miscalls happen. KD got a good look
and the contact didn't seem to affect the shot, and he said so in the post-game
interview.

hit's one big shot and his free throws (which were both big do not get me wrong)

but the way it gets celebrated says a lot...

these are things that should be expected of Lebron, things I'm sure he expects of himself, and people have made it out to be like he's been SO BAD late that a performance last night is revered like Jordan with the flu... it's craziness to me the way we disect game by game

It was clutch. He came through in the clutch, as he should do. And the bank shot was admittedly difficult to make and at a key moment, so of course it's gonna get love from Bron fans.

If the language gets flowery, it's because people bend over backwards to discount the things he does. SO many people today talked about that 3 and the "foul" as examples of him being "your typical 4th quarter Bron," TOTALLY IGNORING everything he did in the 4th and the rest of the night, lol.

Like, even Basa and them on the podcast will talk the truth and admit it's agenda warz... but so many people are dead-ass serious about ignoring the good Bron does and accentuating the bad. Obviously it goes back to The Decision and a couple of his less advisable PR moves... but it also stems from so many people watching ESPN and the extreme one-sided shit they scream about there.

else right, so anyone that is talking about that today is nitpicking.

lol though at you saying if he passed it to a teammate like those were his only 2 options though.

-The Knicks’ coaching search still includes a lone frontrunner, Kurt Rambis, whose qualifications for the position include a strong relationship with Jackson and a willingness to take the job.

Because when you're down so much in the first half and you miss so many shots (including, what, 17 3s? somewhere in that ballpark), you put yourself in the position to lose. They had other 4th quarter shots that could've fallen, and important 4th quarter free throws missed. All on their home court at that!

Anyone bitching about how the foul cost OKC the game didn't watch the game or doesn't understand how basketball works-- no one cost OKC the game other than OKC. You make your shots, you make better decisions, you make your free throws, and you're not in the position you're in late in the game to let a potential call or no-call have any impact.

maybe if you didn't go down 18-2 to start the game, or have to come back from 8+ in the 4th, durant wouldn't have to put up 20 in the final 12 minutes to win the game.

also, for people bitching about the no call on bron, durant should have been fouled out anyway.

You can't hide from greatness. You gotta be willing to take a shot like that sometimes to be great. Of course he'd be better served to drive the lane but I'm happy he didn't shy away from the moment.
