"Cavs offer two 2nd round picks for Pierce"

Can you say lowball…

The Boston Celtics in the next few days are going to make a decision on whether to bring back Paul Pierce next year at $15 million or buy him out for $5 million (and if he stays or goes will be tied to the decisions of Doc Rivers and Kevin Garnett).

The Cavaliers want to help out the Celtics. And by help out I mean steal from. They made a trade offer to the Celtics, reports the News Herald.

The Cavs have likely spoken to the Celtics about small forward Paul Pierce’s availability. The latest rumor is the Cavs offering their two second-round picks for the 35-year-old Pierce. Pierce’s $15.3 million contract for next year would become guaranteed if he’s dealt.

Two second round picks isn’t equal value, but for Boston if you’re going to buy him out, isn’t a couple picks better than spending $5 million?

Cavaliers’ owner Dan Gilbert has said he is tired of the lottery and wants to make the playoffs next year. This would be a step in that direction without shortcutting the rebuilding process much, so it makes sense to at least throw it out there.

It's a potential steal if another team with the cap space doesnt step in, or it's a jumping off point for negotiations if one does.

-The Knicks’ coaching search still includes a lone frontrunner, Kurt Rambis, whose qualifications for the position include a strong relationship with Jackson and a willingness to take the job.

or even #16. The talent from about 9 to 35 is kind of even or just as big of a crap shoot. This draft has zero elite talent but a lot of guys who could be good rotation players.

seems like they really think they can get lebron in 2014
otherwise might as well use the cap space on iggy or trade the #1 move back a couple picks and get porter
but paying PP $15 mil for one yr , a 8th seed , and fucking up ur '14 draft position seems kinda short sighted to me

from peirces perspective it's probably better to get bought out by boston then go to a contender on a 2-3 yr deal

they are not going to get iggy, why would he go to a shit show of a franchise in "rebuilding mode" in the prime of his career?

they know that no FAs will sign there this year or next, so they want to invest the money in a veteran that will make them better and teach their young guys a lot of crafty moves.

Lebron James is better than any player in Sixers history. Actually, dude claimed chips y'all so really that's another win. Now back to the point I made you cannot refute.

No titles won as the Syracuse Nations count bruh. No titles won prior to moving to Philadephia count either. Jordan wasn't around to hoe you niggas so that don't count either. Don't cyse hall of famers Pre Jordan or integration, thanks. You really gazed off a chip another team won when there were 8 teams. YOU LOST FUCKBOY.

Iggas played for the Sixers. An organization going nowhere. I'm shocked you had the audacity to type that after Andrew Bynum saga. Then again, you PSU supporters have screwed up moral compasses anyway.

The Lakers, Celtics, Spurs, and Bulls fans can pop historic shit. Fuckboy Sixers fans hating on the Cavs like they've done anything in 20 years can kill themselves. Any other Sixers fans are cool but you niggas can kill yourselves. Once again, take our dicks out your mouth and swallow sperm fuckboy.

in exchange of him teaching ur team how to lose in the 1st round?
no thanks
and has pierce commented on this trade? if iggy doesn't want to go there then wtf would pierce be happy about going?
only way this makes sense is if it's a stop gap at the position until bron gets there
and even then they'd probably be better off tanking as a hedge in case bron says foh

Just a playoff run will go a long way to making that happen. A run into the 2nd rd would be even better.

move back and scoop porter and use $12 mil on either jefferson or pekovic
and STILL have room for another FA in 2014
no matter what the objective is there seems to be better ways to achieve vs. renting PP for a year

Celtics get two picks and a huge trade exception that they could use to nab Josh Smith or Paul Millsap in a sign-and-trade.

to go somewhere and contend for something as to just taking up space and playing with a team who is a lottery bound team again. Kyrie is tight, however the cavs aren't that good. that man needs to go to the rocokets or nuggets IMO.

glad to see Dan Gilbert crying that is what that turkey gets.

And while this draft isn't especially top heavy, there's some production-ready value early in the second.
