"Trouble at One Buccaneer Place"

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap1000000245928/article/darrelle-revis-reportedly-unhappy-with-greg-schiano

First it's Freeman and now it's Revis!!! Frankly I like his hard edge but it is obvious that it is not translating on the field. The penalties are totally ridiculous, the plays are questionable, the team has turned on Freeman, and Schiano appears to have no solution. This team was built to win and win NOW!!! From what I saw from them the first two games, they will be lucky to finish .500 and Schiano will get canned.

He recruited well in college, for being at Rutgers. But he didn't do much with it. Just scheduled his way to mediocrity, beat nobody good, won nothing in a very winnable league.

His one good skill means nothing in the NFL, and his bullshit act that played well with some college kids won't work. He's not a particularly good coach.

I remember when it happened and nobody saw it coming, he was basically just waiting for the Penn State job and being overhyped off of making Rutgers pretty good in a terrible conference.

All the sudden the Bucs hired him and he just left, had no real chance of working.

a defensive coordinator and and assistant DC, a coach for safeties and a coach for cornerbacks, Bryan Cox is the "Pash Rush Specialist" coach, Jimmy Raye is a "Senior Offensive Assistant, plus his Schiano's boss at Miami Butch Davis as "Special Assistant to the Head Coach", you know Butch is always up to some shenanigans...

Schiano is seriously giving Bobby Petrino a run for the WOAT college turned NFL coach.

http://deadspin.com/greg-schiano-tried-to-kick-a-buccaneers-hero-out-of-pra-1448815091

You might think a Schiano Man would see Super Bowl MVP Dexter Jackson taking in Bucs practice, not recognize him, and kick him out. You'd be wrong. A Schiano Man sends someone over to kick him out.

Jackson related the story during a radio interview with 98.7 The Fan this morning. Since retiring, he's attempted to stay close to the organization and has attended many practices over the years. That is, until Schiano noticed him.

“Schiano sent his guy over to run me out of practice one day,” Dexter Jackson said. “This guy said, ‘Who are you? What are you doing here? You can’t be here.’ I said, ‘go get the Glazers if you want me to leave.’ He (Schiano) tried to run me out.”

Schiano was more successful at banning children from the youth groups Jackson works with. Jackson used to take local grade schoolers to Bucs practices as a reward for doing well in school, but that practice ended under Schiano.

“I usually bring kids to One Buc Place, 4th and 5th graders in Hillsborough County and Pinellas County doing my case management work with a lot of youth in this area,” Jackson said on 98.7 The Fan. “They told me to stop bringing kids on Friday because I’m distracting professional players.”

“I’m distracting professional players by bringing kids who have succeeded in school, did well, stayed out of trouble, and they’re a distraction?” Jackson questioned the decision of the Buccaneers and Greg Schiano. “If they’re a distraction, I’m worried about fans during away games. How can that be a distraction?”

A Schiano Man takes no chances that 9-year-olds might be spying for that week's opponents, then goes 0-6 anyway.

shit, I don't think I even knew he was MVP of the Super Bowl & I watched that game.

He's not one of the first six or seven players I'd name off that D.

I mean I know Sciano's a total asshole & in a free fall but this I don't really care much about.

-The Knicksā€™ coaching search still includes a lone frontrunner, Kurt Rambis, whose qualifications for the position include a strong relationship with Jackson and a willingness to take the job.

33. "Falcons disinfected locker room after Bucs left (swipe)"
In response to Reply # 0

If anyone deserves to be dogpiled, it's Schiano. I'mma put all this squarely on his shoulders.

***

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1818678-falcons-reportedly-disinfected-locker-room-after-buccaneers-departed?utm_source=cnn.com&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=editorial&hpt=hp_t3

TThroughout the 2013 NFL season, opposing defenses have cleaned up against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' struggling offense. Now, it seems teams are literally cleaning up after the Bucs.

According to a report from Fox 13 in Tampa Bay, a cleaning crew entered the visiting locker room after the Falcons' 31-23 victory on Sunday in an attempt to scrub any possible traces of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) from the Georgia Dome.

The workers, clad in hazmat suits, were hired by the Falcons because they worried that Tampa Bay players could be carrying the very antibiotic-resistant infection. The city of Atlanta is famously the home of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Kevin O'Donnell of Fox 13 sent out a picture of the hazmat crew in action:

This comes on the heels of three Buccaneers players being diagnosed with MRSA this season. Guard Carl Nicks and kicker Lawrence Tynes were diagnosed in August. Tynes has been inactive throughout 2013, while Nicks missed the entire preseason and the first two games of the regular season.

Concern grew within NFL circles when Nicks' condition recurred and cornerback Johnthan Banks was diagnosed before last week's game against the Philadelphia Eagles. Banks, whose condition was contained, was cleared to play by independent doctors and has not missed any time.

Nicks underwent surgery this week to finally clear his body of the staph infection. It's unclear when the All-Pro guard will return to the lineup—if at all—this season. Nicks, who signed a five-year, $47.5 million contract before last season, also missed the final nine games of 2012 while dealing with a toe injury.

Tynes filed a grievance against the organization when it placed him on the non-football injury list, essentially claiming his MRSA diagnosis was unrelated to the team. Although the Bucs have kept Tynes under contract, he's unable to receive benefits, accrued service time or pension payments while on the NFI list.

According to the Mayo Clinic:

"Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) infection is caused by a strain of staph bacteria that's become resistant to the antibiotics commonly used to treat ordinary staph infections."

"Most MRSA infections occur in people who've been in hospitals or other health care settings, such as nursing homes and dialysis centers. When it occurs in these settings, it's known as health care-associated MRSA (HA-MRSA). HA-MRSA infections typically are associated with invasive procedures or devices, such as surgeries, intravenous tubing or artificial joints."

The Buccaneers have twice cleaned their facilities as a precautionary measure, and the league even briefly considered postponing or moving Tampa Bay's game against the Philadelphia Eagles last week before Raymond James Stadium was independently cleared.

36. "Schiano's list of wins at Rutgers"
In response to Reply # 0

Found this on another board:

Schiano's career record at Rutgers was 68-67. His Big East Conference record was 28-48. That means that FORTY of his wins or roughtly 60% came against non-conference opponents.

And here are his 40 OOC wins:

Buffalo (4)
Navy (6)
Army (7)
Mich. St.
Kent. St.
Vanderbilt
Villanova
North Carolina
Illinois
Ohio (2)
Howard (2)
Kansas St.
Norfolk St. (2)
Ball St.
Morgan St.
NC St.
Florida Intl. (2)
Maryland
Texas Southern
UCF
NC Central
Iowa St.

He's a guy with a .500 record with 43% of his wins coming against FCS, MAC, or service academy opponents.

..if they wanted to go the college route, it might have been smarter..you know, to go w/ a coach with national championships & an emphasis on special teams and defense..not to mention someone who knows what a first round NFL talent looks like.

if he had hired a good OC and I bet he would have done better than this bum (which isnt that hard ...given his record)

lol I'm thoroughly enjoying Schiano crashing and burning.

when you win more than one national championship, it becomes plural.

4 D2 championships + 1 D1 championship...

that makes 5.

if you can count AP titles (lol) then a championship won 4 times through an actual playoff system should count as well.

Tressel might or might not have been a good coach, but he definitely would have done better than Greg fucking Schiano. A JoePed lackey who's never won anything worthwhile.

Some teams get it right with college hires (49ers, Seahawks,) and some get it horribly wrong (Tampa Bay, Philadelphia)

*shrug*

Rutgers was the worst major-conference team in football the decade before.

I mean this dude is a dickhead but let's be real.

That's questionable enough.

When you throw in his personality being a terrible fit for the NFL....I can't see anything positive about the hire.

Bill Snyder had a similar challenge, but he actually did something significant at Kansas State, going to major bowls and such. Schiano never got there at Rutgers.
