White painted wood
Rotted brown from the tears
that fell from a gaping hole
of the city's collective fears
Eroding the tales
Exposing the nails

When I awoke from my state of solace
and proceeded on into the world
I left with a chipped shoulder
a ripped knee
a poster of a kidney
and
an image of the sea

And a head of questions
Starting with
Why?
These chords replace the thunder in the sky
Ending with
die?

Because this time
the storm couldn't weather the guy
Where does one take refuge
When the natural disaster
occurs inside?
