when i felt a hodge podge of odd
sensations inside my
soul it was like hope died
in a dream i woke out of
i stood up abruptly and walked out
in search of the truth_

Leaving behind a bright future
inside of a tight cubicle
to pursue a new rubix cube
in the shadows
some called it foolish
i called it suicide intervention
by self invention
and venting the blues_

existence is too_
brief for pretending

i'd rather fail at being me
than succeed as a carbon copy
of somebody elses property

or thoughtful engineering

i received a call today letting me know a young man maybe 28 who I was close to at one point even mentoring this year has put a bullet in his head 2 days ago and has passed today...the themes the poems the writing never seems prepare us for life when something like this happens
