Raised in the U-dot, S-dot Father was a Vietnam vet whose stress got the better of his head I was 3 when he had the aneurysm- mannerisms changed But I'm glad my daddy wasn't dead -Skip ahead- And my mother did 20 years of service as well See... and here's thing, me and dad were nervous as hell Cuz after 17-Korea so we didn't get to see her After 19-Baghdad and I was like "Dag dad..." ...And you could find me glarin' at the flag staff Feelin' really sorry for myself was somethin' I could hardly help That's until my father fell to the floor His heart stopped. I wasn't sweatin' myself anymore And there was anger at first I'd get frustrated and curse at that triangular flag They gave my mom at the church And the hurt Was sensational in '05 but four years later its inspirational And THAT'S no jive Raised in the U-dot, S-dot, A military brat Been through alotta rest stops But I killed the test So I'm proudly gonna follow in your steps, Pops.
Both my parents were in the military. My father did about 21 years and my mom 18. When I was about 5 they had to go to Kuwait during Desert Storm/Shield. Though I can't relate with losing my father or any medical conditions happening afterward, I am a military brat and I understand where you're coming from. Good stuff mayne!!!
My lil' bro's in the Marines ... been in since he was 17 -- (he's 26 now)
From what I've seen, the military kinda sharpens up the rough edges and polishes areas that parents might've missed, nahmean?
Not that you need any sharpening or polishing ... but I'm just saying ...
*Nice Flow Fa' Sho'* -- and thanx 4 sharing.
