Words: The most powerful tool in existence known to man/
With the capability to cause more damage than any weapon can
Words have the power to make you, the power to break you/
When you’re in a deep psychological sleep, words have the power to wake you
Words can create joy, words can create tears/
Words can spark bravery, words can spark fear
Words have the power to inflict the deepest pain/
More painful than any push, shove, or beating could slain
Words can make you who you are, and can make you who you are not/
The tools necessary to help mold your deepest thoughts
The power to crush dreams or the power to create self-esteem/
The power to give you strength, no matter how weak you may seem
The simplest words can cause the greatest complication/
Using the wrong ones will result in miss-informed information
Words can be spoken, words can be mimed/
Words can be late, yet precisely on time/
Words can encourage justice, words can encourage crime/
No need for your 2 cents, cause 5 thoughts are worth more than a dime
Words are the trigger of confrontation’s gun/
Squeeze it and the bang will make the whole block throw their hands up and run
Words have the power to give you a new breath/
Yet those same words may possess the power to cause another man’s death
The power to take life and the power to help create life/
The power to cut deeper than even the sharpest knife
The words of a Christian may have the power to convince you that God live through yours and myself/
Whereas the words of an atheist could convince you that God never even lived through his self/
Words have the power to unite an entire race of people/
The power to fight back when staring into the face of evil
Words are UNIVERSAL, no matter what your race/
See, words are color blind, see past the tone of your face
The power to destroy an entire culture and all its beliefs/
And replace it with new ones, to wrongfully turn a new leaf
The one thing that everyone has the ability to use/
The one thing that no one could survive without the ability to use
But most importantly, words have the power to change/
Replace your existing thoughts of defeat, and in exchange/
Give you thoughts of hope, thoughts of free range/
When before hearing these words, those thoughts seemed strange
Words shape the lives of every single individual on this planet/
The power of words: the one thing that can never be obliterated…can it?
