"The Sleepers"

Hello my babe,

For some reason if ever we're apart...
I'll send a messenger to tell you all of the secrets of my heart
Not only have you been special during at our end, you've been solid from the start
Under the horizon is where our souls met
And shall remain connected until the last light of infinity's sunset
I suspect you've moved along while remaining strong in morals and values which strengthened our bond

Antonia Kitto, AK, better known as Doy
Shout for joy, this poem is about a boy you once knew who grew into what you see today
I'm glad yet a little sad you went away
Memories in my collection call upon my recollection of you wanted to give me warmth and affection
I only wish now that I did stay to watch your eyes dance in my pupil’s reflection as we play

The sleepers never slept
Their bodies met when her bare back greeted his chest
Under stars and moonlight in the nights sky is where their secrets are kept
Laid to rest in that bed
On that block
In that city
Looks only go so far, but you're more than pretty
To me you're beautiful full of life and never have a dull moment
Lull me to sleep if you can
My mind retraces my enormous heart paces that took hold in both strange and obvious places
Many disapproved of our groove
"He's black, she’s white"
"Yea, and he looks like the type..."
But do I look like the type to write similes so deep you fall asleep only to awake before connecting verbal leaps I bungee with pens and blank sheets?

Don't sleep on The Sleepers.
Cuz they never really sleep.
