West Side
Get in
Let's Ride

<Words I speak seep through and seek where you hide>

Style sleek
Rhyme complete

<Heavy hold it steady and shoot / Execute the plan nice and neat>

Fuck Niggers
White Sheets

<Mississippi's BURNING as I'm learning about my daddy being a sharecropper>

Get Back
Fuck That

<Lower comes the chopper here to rescue troops with shot off legs, missing their boots>

Get Black
Show Roots

<Pain and anger is no stranger / Poverty isn't just you and me/ Who had to watch TV with Foil and a Clothes Hanger??>

Church Revival
Holy Bible
Choir Rehearsal

<We're all the same, the cycle is universal/ My niggas put weed in lungs/ While our grandmothers speak in tongues/ Praying their little money will help pay for our college funds>

To be Continued...

cool piece.
i had fun reading it just cause there is so much to play around with. reading the piece through… ignoring the sectioned off (<…>) lines and reading just the 2 word lines … reading the sectioned off (<…>) lines without the 2 word lines…
and after all three approaches, i was left with the same feel which i really like.
circular piece… makes me think you don’t even need to mention cycles in the poem, b/c the poem itself is the cycle
thanks for sharing
