Mahershala Ali Fights For Single Fatherhood In ‘Your Mother Your Mother Your Mother’ Trailer


This film marks his return to the big screen since 2023's 'Leave the World Behind'

The official trailer for Your Mother Your Mother Your Mother has arrived.

In partnership with Orion Films and Amazon MGM Studios, the latest feature written and directed by Bassam Tariq follows Latif (Mahershala Ali), a devoutly religious hitman who struggles to balance work, faith, and fatherhood.

The trailer spotlights Latif as he fights to support his children after the death of their mother, battling grueling obstacles across Houston to survive and provide for his family. As he searches for breast milk for his infant daughter alongside his teenage daughter (Adia) and his young son, Latif is unexpectedly pulled into a hit job that places him in direct contact with faith leader Hwan Yoon (John Cho).

The cast also includes Abubakr Ali, Laith Nakli, Tramell Tillman, Tiffany Boone, Giancarlo Esposito, and Jahleel Kamara.


The film arrives after Ali was set to portray Blade in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He spent more than a year training for the role before the project was reportedly scrapped, but that preparation helped him step into this latest film.


“I was able to use those skills that I had been working on for over a year training for Blade,” Ali shared with GQ.

“In that way, I feel creatively redeemed on some level, just in my own journey between me, myself, and I. But I feel ready to move on from the Blade questions. Those questions are for them. They didn’t want to do it, so they should answer that question.”

Your Mother Your Mother Your Mother will debut in select theaters on Sept. 25, 2026, before expanding to theaters nationwide in October.
