I'm not a fan of Dylan's music, but this trailer/teaser compels me to watch the final movie.

Look, this movie stands on the shoulders of Bob Dylan's music and the performances. Monica Barbaro and Edward Norton really surprised me with their performances. Everyone does their own singing and playing. It's very impressive.

With that said, I don't think this adds anything to Bob or his music. It's just a standard biopic following his rise to fame and his struggle with his transition from acoustic folk music to electric blues rock. In addition to that, it follows his relationships with both Joan Baez and "Slyvie". It bugged me that Mangold did Walk the Line and didn't get Pheonix to play him again.

It's also two and a half hours.

Opens Christmas Day. Go see Nosferatu.
