There are big screens and then there’s this.

A Missouri-based movie chain will open its first tri-state area location at American Dream where movie goers can watch films on a 270-degree screen.

It will have an 80-foot wide center screen and two 82-foot wide side walls. They call it ScreenX and it was developed by CJ 4DPLEX.

“ScreenX is the world’s first multi-projection platform, meaning the movie won’t just play on the screen in front, but on the two sidewalls,” B&B Theatres CEO Bob Bagby said. “It’s a remarkable presentation and we’re thrilled to announce that the American Dream ScreenX will be the largest in the world.”

B&B Theatres expects to opens at American Dream in 2025, American Dream and the company announced this week.

“We are ecstatic that B&B Theatres will bring this one-of-a-kind movie experience to American Dream, offering our guests yet another exceptional immersive entertainment experience,” said Bryan Gaus, senior vice president and general manager of American Dream.

B & B Theatres is a 100-year-old family-owned and operated movie theater chain. It’s the fifth largest theater chain in the country with 550 screens in 57 cinemas across 15 states, including three under construction. It also has 64 bowling lanes, 231 arcade games and three different restaurant brands.

The B&B Theatres at American Dream will have eight screens, multiple bowling alleys, an arcade, a full-service restaurant and a bar.

It will be located on the fourth floor near the Coca-Cola Eats food court.

I've heard that the image looks stretched to fit the side screens and that the side screens are darker than the main one.

I've also heard the sound sucks in ScreenX cause the priority is making sure all three screens are synced up.
