The show has a good cast at least but this trailer is already putting the show behind in points before the show even premiered.
Why the hell did they even bother calling this "Good Times" I'm an old head and I've only seen GT in reruns. I can't imagine too many fans of the original show would be into this.

Why couldn't they just put it out to stand on it's own? I don't see anything in the trailer (other than them throwing out the Evans' family name) that would suggest that this is some kind of sequel or spinoff.

There'll be a lot of Good Times references in the show, I'd imagine. But they'll also be able to get a hell of a lot more eyeballs on it initially with the Good Times IP stamp on it.
And, not to derail the point here, but the other problem is that while everyone says they want new stuff - there's far too much of it out there, so nobody really watches new stuff. And thus...we get this abomination of a trailer that has Good Times/Norman Lear slapped on it.
