Some "old, fat White" (c) Pat McAfee, thinks there has to be an in-depth look into why the characters we love are the way they are.

That said, this shit looks hilarious. It's weird that Timmy C. just looks like Timmy C., but I guess that's an affect of Depp's version being so suuuuuuuuuuuper weird that an actor just being themselves seems off.

WONKA is delightful. It's cool to see a movie with a sense of whimsy and everyone locked into what it's going for. It doesn't entirely work, but I was smiling the entire runtime. After PADDINGTON 1 & 2, and now this prequel, I'm locked in for Paul King.
