>This , to me, remains on the short list of all time great >concert flicks
This, and Laurie Anderson's Home of the Brave remain two of my favorite concert films of that period. I'd love to see "Home of The Brave" as a lead-in. It's on Youtube at least: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mua8Pr6uRso
And Spalding Gray's "Swimming to Cambodia" , also directed by Demme, was in heavy rotation too.

Stop Making Sense builds and finishes strongly, maybe the only mistake in the original cut is the Tom Tom Club song (so David Bryne can change into that suit.)
The updated order that's been present on the new releases adds Cities, which I liked, but also adds Big Business and I Zimbra and actually makes the film drag a little.
Also: Woodstock had Martin Scorsese as a film editor, hard to compete with that.

🌟Jerry's Manager🌟 I can't reveal the dates just yet. However, I just found out it'll be 100 IMAX screens across the US first, and then over 200 screens at regular theaters after that.

There's an IMAX special event on Sept 11th where they will show the Movie, then they'll be a livestream of a Q/A session with all 4 memebers that takes place at the TIFF.
No others showtimes are there yet but the word is that it'll be playing in IMAX and normal theaters after that for some amount of time - it's not just a 1 day event.

It looked great - even though you can tell some of it was always out of focus.
Some slight changes to the music too - especially during the Tom Tom Club's song. Maybe some slight vocal differences and definitely moving some of the instruments UP in the mix during certain segments.
It's moving to non-Imax screens this week - not sure how long it'll be around.
