"I’m just about to enter a screening, but news just broke that Denzel Washington is set to star in Ridley Scott’s upcoming “Gladiator” sequel.
This is a huge get for the movie, nabbing one of the best and most-renowned actors in the world. Washington had previously worked with Scott on 2007’s “American Gangster.”
Washington is set to join a cast that includes Barry Keoghan and Paul Mescal. Production is scheduled to commence in Morocco this coming May."

This is pretty wild. Russel Crowe in 2023 looks like he could have played his character's father from Gladiator back then. Father time is truly undefeated.

And the sequel really has nothing to do with Maximus, i believe it will follow Lucious. I don't see four Oscar nominated director/actors signing up for this movie unless the script is fire.
