Liked it, but it's not as good as X. It meanders a tad too much, plus the build-up and payoff were done SO much better in X.

With that said, Ti West perfectly captured the look and feel of the technicolor melodramas of old (with a horror twist of course). And Mia Goth is doing fantastic work.

Excited to see what MaXXXine is gonna be when that drops next year.

X scratches that 70’s horror itch nicely, but I was fully invested in the Pearl character and origin story here. Mia Goth was incredible. I don’t know if this will be a big enough movie to get her some nominations, but she deserves them.

i had mid expectations because spinoffs tend to not be good. especially origins/prequels.

but yeah...i think this was technically a better movie than x. definitely more performance driven and they nailed that.

Caught this at the single showing in my nearby theater. Great movie. This one will age into a classic. Mia Goth did a hell of a job and It’s a shame this is considered a “genre” picture. Bring on that Maxxine.
