have you ever seen him do press for The Boys? Once he loses the dyed blonde hair and the Homelander suit, he looks very pedestrian.
Also, I didn't watch too many episodes of the show because it was a bit too over the top and pulpy for me, but he looked quite different when he was on Banshee, at least from the three or so episodes that I watched.
I checked imdb and I noticed he worked on two other projects post-The Boys. That needs to grown a lot more; the dude is quite talented.

is having that 'problem' right now as result of Breaking Bad. It would be cool to see him play a somewhat comedic role to break out of the brooding villain mold he's been placed in over the last 5 years or so. Something similar to how Andre Braugher did on Brooklyn 99.

But they are at different points in their careers, so G may be fine playing the big brooding bad, while Braugher needed to get away from being Frank Pemberton and expand at the time.

but I was browsing imdb.com to look up Braugher's career and while I was looking at the cast for Homicide, I completely forgot Giancarlo was actually on the show as a regular.
I'm more than certain I brushed it off because his time on the show occurred when the quality of the show started to suffer greatly.
I really should break out my DVDs for those early season. Andre Braugher was an act of nature on some of those early episodes in that interrogation box.

Every time I see him in a movie or comedy clip I think of Don Draper.
The only time I noticed the character was when he was in Bridesmaids.
It hasn't helped that he also hasn't played many good parts since Mad Men. I'm not sure what he'd have to do in order to cause me to see Hamm as an actor and not as Don Draper on a police force (The Town).

I just wanna see him be a cool ass cat in every role. Like I want a Joh Hamm George Clooney buddy joint where they just drive around, smoke cigarette, drink, talk and pick up chicks.
That's gotta be some kind of running joke at this point. I get they change the name of a character to Hector once he gets the part. Unless he's on some John Munch shit and lowkey the same guy in every flick.
That'd be a great project for someone. You could name the flick Hector.
He's played a version of his Swingers character in the majority of his movies in one way or another, with few exceptions. He did tone it down quite a bit for True Detective, but nobody liked that season and nobody cared
