NYC subway system.

I always wondered why some of those posters stuck in my mind and some didn't.

Escape from New York (definitely)

Prison (I think Reny Harlin who directed "Die Hard 2" directed that one)

eh....

so few really stuck/stick in my mind

Can't wait!!! These are the kind of movies that sneak through and get made and were all better for it.

Funny, good action, good actors, good story.

Yes it's weird, but not any weirder than fucking Rushmore, or Lost in Translation.

...maybe it was just a bit ahead of its time. i dont know, but you're right...it really SHOULD have been a MONSTER hit. As it stands, its become a 'cult classic' so i kinda feel like that my give it a longer life, and generation after generation will likely continue to 'discover' it for years to come.

But yeah...still...it SHOULD have ben a straight-up SMASH/BANG/POW Blockbuster HIT when it came out TOO.

A: The fact it kinda reminded me of the No More Heroes games
B: Jason Schwartzman as the main villain

I didn't read the comic it was based on, apparently Scott's character was more of a jerk in in the book than he came across as in the movie
