Franklin's first dumb decision was not listening to her. TBH i was also on team obvious. I thought it was a pretty easy decision to go with Man Boy until she laid it all out and made me feel dumb. Stacey just wants to run Inglewood and be crazy. Man Boy wants it all. He's ultimately a bigger problem.

Not sure why Rob from the valley was was part of a violent ambush. He pops up at the most random places with no real reason. Is he the producers's kid or something?

Mel did the crackhead eyes so good last season, now she has that exact same look as a holy roller

My sole complaint last season was that he wasn't featured enough (aside from the monstrous G move of tossing dude out the window), but I like that he's been featured pretty prominently so far. And still doing gangsta shit like tossing people off of roofs and carving shit in their forward. Plus, gatting up the TJ cops with Teddy.

I honestly figured that subplot would last longer this season, but I guess not. Only thing that I'm a little surprised is that Oso doesn't have a deeper crew. Maybe it comes from watching all that Narcos: Mexico, but it feels like he should have been able to have some shooters.

Otherwise, they made sure to have Franklin do some unambiguously foul shit for the sake of a power grab. I also expected the shit with the shit was Nix to go on longer, but I'm glad he's seemingly out of the way. I figured ee was in for it as soon as he fucked with Cissy.

Seems like they're setting Wanda up for the rock bottom. I also still think that they're setting it up for Leon and Man-Boy to team up, out of mutual disdain for Franklin and to help go after Skully.

And yeah, it very much looks like the reporter is going to discover that Franklin is being enabled by the CIA. Chronologically, it seems kind of early. And probably won't end well for her.

Franklin and Alton were uncomfortable with it, but after the thing happened with Cissy they needed a more white collar approach to burying Nix, and that developer guy had the hook up with Mayor Bradley

He was still going to do those folks dirty cause he wants to have more legit business. It just happens that now he's starting to make connections with power-players in L.A. and was able to kill to birds with one stone.

Wanda about to go to rehab, she's starting to see how messed up she is and with Leon saying "What happened to you." you could see that hit when she looked in the mirror. Not sure what her arch is going to be, but I doubt she goes the Melody holy roller route.

Manboy is obviously trying to get Franklin out the paint, he's trying to bring Louie and Jerome into that shit now that he thinks Jerome's a killer like him. I think Leon stays out of it until he has to help Franklin out cause he needs that product to keep his territory away from Manboy.

this gave him more of a rationale. that and knowing they were gonna lose the shop either way. his whole presence when he first walked in the store was snake oily as fuck. They seemed to kinda sense it but they didn't really have other options.

I assume Wanda is headed for a future as a drug counselor. Unless they go the Wire/GoT route and pull the rug out by killing her off. But this show drops pretty clear hints on where a character is headed. Like when last year opened with Mel saying she's headed off to college, you know she was fucked.

For one, since last season he's been talking about how he's tired of doing this. And now he's killed someone, so he'll have to "pay."

Plus, no way can the show go four seasons without Saint losing someone in his immediate circle to the game. Not with all the talk of how the violence is getting out of control. And it's only really started.

Jerome ain't no punk but it's not like he's a born killer. If he doesn't die, he might just get an insanely wrong prison sentence. We're still a few years from the crack sentencing laws. Either way, it won't end well for Jammin Jerome

I figure it's gotta be one of the three, I doubt anything happens to Franklin's mom and dad. But Louie and Jerome might get it. Timelines seem mixed on the show, I can't catch if we are in 86 or 87 at this point, so I'm trying to follow where we get to the Regan era crack down (no pun) and harsh sentences.

I have a thought that we do get a Manboy/Leon team up, there's an episode in this season named betrayal so I'm figuring it's when Leon makes his move.

Season opener is new years 85 so not much time has passed seeing that it opened right before the 84 olympics. I want them to get at least to 88 which was pretty much the peak of the LA crack era violence wise.

not sure if she becomes a counselor, I could see that happening way down the line if the series were to continue. I think she gets clean and maybe helps Franklin's pops. The alternative is she gets clean join Leon's crew and gets gangsta.

But when are we going to watch Teddy/Reed fall. He's already doing coke on the side and more than willing to kill Mexican nationals for the sake of the program. I mean when do we get an Ollie North type character visit? He's obviously got issues with arms getting down South, something has to happen, we can't just leave it as the Reed and OSO show.

See I don't think the show makes it past season 5, COVID stalled a lot of shows and so they missed a full season and it was right when the show was picking up steam and getting good pub. Couple that with Singleton passing away, I'm not sure if it will stick unless they just let Walter Mosely keep doing his thing.

He's still the same regular dude even though he's developed a new way to move the dope. You would think that his operation would've grown by now, but it's still just him and Teddy/Reed. But now that he knows Teddy/Reed is CIA, how does that change his ambitions.

We also haven't seen what the other crews in TJ are doing, so when do they come into play.

I will say by end of season if OSO ain't big time, it's a disappointment to that characters development.

Now he's got both Skully and Manboy on his ass. I appreciate the stuff with Wanda, he still cares about her, but what is he going to do now he got two sides at him.

It looks like they are speeding up some of the stuff with the reporter.I guess she's going to uncover it all and possibly end up dead.

Franklin's pops is the only one that knows this all has to end, Cissy wants it to end but she's doing the "one last deal" logic trying to go legit. Which isn't going to work.

at that point, the smart thing for him to do would have been to shoot her too, but it's obv easy to feel why he was so shook.

Yeah Alton knows there's no happy ending her. Just like he told Franklin what the govt would do once he outlived his usefulness. Alton and Louie are really the only smart people on the show.

Jerome clearly wants out.

This is the second time they mentioned the reporter's daughter. she's probably in some danger down the line.

I was a little surprised that he was in and out so quickly. Part of me wondered if he was undercover, but as they established, law enforcement can't do shit to Franklin. But I guess the point that the drug game was so brutal that it shook an Army Ranger.

Franklin thinking that going national is going to end the War in Nicaragua is kinda naive. Even for him.

I sorta feel like the girl Franklin is fucking is working some angle.

And yeah, Wanda is probably going to end up getting clean after this. At least for a little while.

Both of these above are cases of Franklin being stupid. That girl he's messing with is def up to something. She has too many connections to the streets that Franklin obviously doesn't

>And yeah, Wanda is probably going to end up getting clean

I wouldn't be surprised if Wanda gets clean and ends up dead because of Leon's actions.

Man what an episode. Cissy is that mom. The scene with her and Leon after how his own mother treated him was great tv.

Intense stuff happened this episode..

So Franklin has to back Leon now and that means he was a war on two fronts with Skully and Manboy.

also that reporter is going to die right? I mean they are telegraphing that whole thing.

i wanted to yell at the screen for Leon to do something about that hair.

Either way, Teddy can't make this go away, I'm wondering if Leon is just gonna head out to Little Rock or some satellite location, or how long he'll last. He's likely just prison bound at best. There's no turning back from killing a kid.

I think something might happen to the reporter's daughter. Like a threat that she stubbornly defies that ends badly.

Teddy can't do nothing to stop a Gang War. The move would be Leon banging in Little Rock and possibly getting caught up there. I mean I looked at the kid getting killed an example of what was happening back then with drive-by shootings and kids and civilians becoming casualties.

I get it, Saint doesn't want to have to kill both of his best friends and recognizes that it's his fault that Leon become a target of Skully. But fuck that, Louie is right: they gave Leon a chance to come under the fold and he told them to fuck off. And nothing good is going to come from protecting a someone who killed a child. Obviously Saint's going to keep making money via Little Rock, but this shit puts him in serious at home. Does he think a hot shit developer is going to have his back through this?

Fatback got bail?? Considering Skullys girl would have to come up with the entire thing we're looking at what? A million? For not-Leon?
And the cops just forget about Leon like that?

I liked the interactions between Louie and Jerome but damn they barely even tried to make that look like Arkansas. Looks like they just stuck a bunch of trailers out in San Bernardino.

Even Teddy showing up and mouthing off like that felt pretty forced.

Reporter overplaying her hand too quick

Franklin's girl clearly shady

Well, she did ask Skully for "a lot of money" while she was mixing up the shit to knock out Fat-Back. And it would technically "only" have to be $100,000.

>And the cops just forget about Leon like that?

That part bugged me. And like, Leon being in the car across the street from the police station when they drop off Fatback. Like, the cops are still looking for you, dude.

>I liked the interactions between Louie and Jerome but damn

Ha. Yeah, I notice that. BTW, that whole family is going to end up addicted to rock. Especially the idiot teenager.

>Even Teddy showing up and mouthing off like that felt pretty

That was kind of dumb. At first I thought it was foreshadowing Teddy dumping eventually dumping and possibly selling to Man Boy instead. But Man Boy's a loose cannon that you'd think Teddy wouldn't want to deal with.

>Reporter overplaying her hand too quick

Yeah, she's going to end up by the end of the season at this rate.

>Franklin's girl clearly shady

I'm thinking she's working for Man Boy, trying to find the plug (see abovee).

What hood said, she just only had to out up the $100K and did ask skully for the cash. Poor Fatback we hardly knew ye.

>And the cops just forget about Leon like that?
That part was odd, he still has to be a suspect in the shooting. But this show has moments like this were logic is defied.

>I liked the interactions between Louie and Jerome but damn
>they barely even tried to make that look like Arkansas. Looks

Budget and Pandemic is probably why it looks that way. Also its FX and I'm pretty sure they shoot most of their stuff in the same locations around So Cal. i.e. main street charming was shot in Montrose and Santo Padre just looks like somewhere in the Valley or I.E.

>Even Teddy showing up and mouthing off like that felt pretty

I'm going to say it's Teddy coming apart and we'll get more especially now that his brother's dead. Teddy about to go deep cover mode.

>Reporter overplaying her hand too quick
It's a wrap for her and I'm sad it is because I love that character. The actress has been great in everything I've ever seen her in hopefully she makes it to season 5.

>Franklin's girl clearly shady
She gotta be with ManBoy or an unknown party that we haven't seen yet. It's a honeypot play and Franklin once again is too dumb to know it.

-The dope game on the show got way more messy when Skully and Manboy got involved. Any time they drop in a new character, shit falls apart.
-The person in the trunk that Oaktown 3-5-7 killed BARELY resembled Leon. Y’all got babysitters to go kill some rando?
-The Jerome/Louie tension is so thick and uncomfortable. He would’ve some off better punching her in the mouth instead of that snide comment about his mom not liking her. That probably hurt a lil more.
-It would be too much of a TV trope for Mel to step in and save Franklin from that new chick, so it seems like she’s gonna be a hard lesson learned.
-I’m so glad Leon didn’t get folded by Big Deon.
-Teddy/Reed has to be reeled in. He’s off the deep end.

In response to Reply # 40

Leon eventually gonna pay, they got a $50K bounty on him and the Saint crew. If anything happens to Big Deon's folks then we're going to get an all out war. So I'm figuring it's going that route.

Jerome, has a right to be mad at Louie and Franklin. Basically they were saying him and Leon were either too dumb or too emotional to deal with the Teddy/Reed situation. He had already been through enough with Louie and that club owner and getting his ass whopped by Andre's folks. The need to show Unc some respect.

Tonashe (sp) is obviously working for Manboy, she's that plan he has in motion and I'm sure it's to do two things: 1. find Franklin's plug 2. keep tabs on the Saint crew's movements so he can strike. Getting the money and dope out of the club was the smartest move he made.

Teddy is on another level now. He's brother's dead, his ex is out the paint, so he's got nothing else but the mission so he's going all the way in until it's over. Hopefully Oso can help keep him in line and Javi can reel him in. That convo on the plane on why Javi is out of the Mossad was supposed to be a lesson to Teddy.

My biggest issue is Franklin going at his pops the way he did. It may have been a betrayal but his dad is telling him from experience and he's not lying about the impact that Franklin's business is having. There's no light at the end of that tunnel and Pops's was trying to get them free before its waaay too late. .

This episode brought a lot of stuff to head. I'm finally glad they finally revealed the whole Man boy Tonashe thing, that was getting to be more than transparent.

That reporter is dead or disgraced after this, she opened up everything. Speaking of Reed doesn't have much time left himself. Oso was smart enough to move everything including that safe, which I forgot about. Reed having everything only keeps him in play for so long, gonna be interesting to see what happens after this.

Jerome about to be a real killer after this.

at least for the Saint/black storyline of the show, they could've handled all this shit in 3-5 episodes IMO. we know where these storylines are going anyway dont make it tedious

Jerome and Saint got shot, they back up. Although Saint been on this cane too long. He got too much ego to have not even tried to really get around w/o it yet in the show. I would've had him off it around ep 3 or 4 timeline/logic be damned.

Leon basically dead to rights from all sides and they wriggle out of it

Louie shot, she gonna be aight most likely.

Skully girl done tried like 3 or 4 times to get Saint. That means we've heard probably 12 times Manboy told her to sit her ass down while he figures shit out.

we really gotta wait until 8 eps in for Franklin to find out his girl is the mole? thats wack

FWIW though the stalling feel of this season is probably because of how production was impacted by Covid

i was legit surprised that the season is almost over. it feels like we're at the halfway point at best.

the Leon police situation just going away probably bugs me the most. dude was on the 6 o'clock news for killing a little girl, and all he really had to do was braid his hair for a couple days.

i assumed since we just did this "she's in surgery" thing with Wanda, that they wouldn't just repeat it with Louie. So now Wanda, Franklin, Louie all cheated death, not that plenty of people don't get shot and make it, but pretty much everyone franklin and them shoot is dead.

>Skully girl done tried like 3 or 4 times to get Saint. That >means we've heard probably 12 times Manboy told her to sit >her ass down while he figures shit out.

^^i love every ManBoy scene but this is pretty funny

But yeah, I think you're dead on. it feels like they stretched what should have been a few episodes. I don't know the timeine of what was written pre-covid, but i'm sure it comes into pay one way or another

When he stops trying to be the Nicest Dope Boy Ever (tm). Naive Franklin lets people come into his life out of nowhere and get too close. I wonder if she’s dead or if they try to use her for their good.

Women are his Achilles heel, happened with Mel and now he's dealing with Tanosee. I mean he's gotta use her to get Manboy and Skully and I'm sure she's a gonner afterwards or he tells her to leave L.A. and never comeback.

Manboy ass ain't that smart and Louie still calling plays from the sidelines. Skully about to go full tilt after this episode, dude ain't got nothing to lose.

We need the Teddy and Oso show now, he might as well gone rouge. I knew Irene was gone the minute she appears with Alton. Speaking of, Alton gotta leave, either Teddy kills him or sends him off to Cuba.

This was always going to be the logical end for Man-Boy, Taneisha, and Irene.

Jerome has gone full stone-cold killer. I really thought he might end up dead or in prison this season. That'll come eventually, but it looks like he's fully the crew's muscle (with Peaches), whereas Leon is kinda fading to the back.

On the other hand, I kinda feel like Skully might be out of it. He really hasn't recovered from his daughter getting killed, and he could take losing Taniesha as a further "sign from God" that he needs to turn over a new leaf.

As for Teddy, I really hope that they don't have him talking the CIA into letting him go back AGAIN. They've been to that well at least three other times. He might have killed Irene afterwards, but what he told her was right: he gave up everything in the pursuit of this, and they dumped him when it was clear that he might make them look bad. I think he's going the route that Avi suggested: Just going into business for himself, selling to Oso and Franklin.

I figure that it's going to be his father. Franklin sacrifices his father to Reed is completely loses his moral compass.

I really don't like how Skully went from crucifying niggas in Crenshaw, surrounded by a whole crew of niggas to being out crazied by Khadijah, surrounded by kitchen utensils.

If anything he should of been out in these streets wiling after the daughter got shot. He was introduced as this loose cannon early in this season.

He gonna give his life to the lord or be on the rock.

He was even telling Khadijah before she got it, that it was enough. Losing his daughter was too much for him. Even being shermed out he was saying that it how we was living is what got his daughter killed and he needed to change.

I think we don't get much Skully unless he becomes the wild card that ends the season. By wrapping up the loose ends of Manboy and Khadijah, I think that story is over.

1. I never trusted Louie's friend's lil brother or cousin or whoever...asking too many questions and just seemed like a snitch.

2. Soon as the cops find out where they're getting the rock from...

3. Mel is there. I'm thinking it won't be long before she knows the rock made it from LA to Ark. and relapses.

4. If Mel doesn't relapse, don't forget Irene went down there to interview her. That could come back to haunt them too.

Franklin a cold dude. next season he's going to be out of control

Reed my MVP for the season. For once I looked forward to his scenes as much as the main story scenes. Style team keep him and Franklin looking clean too. I've been taking notes and earmarking a few things to cop

Franklin going to be a monster next season, I hope we get a time jump though.I don’t see this lasting past 5-6 seasons. But Manboy called it, when shit got rough folks turned on Franklin. He’s going to beast after this but Joe the streets are going to be that much more dangerous.

Reed came through and I’m glad they decided to develop the character more. My man went all the way to close that loop and keep the operation going.

I don't think she is. Why would she want Alton dead? based on the episode before she was all about leaving, albeit without Alton. I doubt she would change her mind after everything especially after that stand off.

Assuming she's not, either someone would have to nab Cissy and they depend of Franklin to reign her in, OR Alton just 'disappears' because I don't think her coming back and finding Alton shot is gonna work for anyone. Or does Franklin not know either? Seeing that Teddy is on hiatus.

I assume the next season opens with these answers.

>I wanna know how Teddy got a Glock into 1985 Cuba though?

i'm guessing there's some form of anti-castro underground that he can go through for stuff like that. like they're not gonna overthrow the government but they can get Teddy a glock.

I'm wondering if Mel is going to pop her head back up or not. Will the Saint family get back or is that broken and now we got a war with them.

Folks are saying Cissy knew what was about to go down in Havana, I'm not quite sure and does that force her to come back home and deal with Franklin.

I'm think Oso is about to go full Narcos route and get back with his woman. No way he's going to keep working with those other CIA jerks while reed is out the paint.

If Saint didn't have the courage to kill Alton but wind up going to war with Unc and Louie, then I'm off this shit.

I don't think this show has the courage to off-screen Alton. I'd bet he'll show up somewhere in S5.
