Saw Barry Jenkins hype this on twitter so I thought I’d make it my Halloween viewing and while it wasn’t that scary as far as creepy house movies go, the premise (Sudanese refugee couple moves to a house in a run-down suburb in England) is interestingly handled and shot. Using trauma as the basis of a horror movie isn’t exactly a new idea but Weekes does a lot with the couple’s story that keeps the viewer involved throughout thanks in part to great wide-eyed acting from the leads
