5. "I Really Don't Want A Black Widow Movie" In response to Reply # 0 Wed Aug-14-19 02:26 AM by Dj Joey Joe
I've never been impressed by the character in comics or on screen, I know it's easier to do movies about a superhero that has no powers but c'mon they've stretched her abilities to the max with so-called believable feats; she's a spy, she knows a lot of hand to hand combat, I get it but c'mon, both Avengers movies & "Winter Solider" have had more stories about her than needed.
Black Widow isn't the only super-heroine in the Marvel Universe, they really need to branch out and introduce others, I'm still waiting on a fucking She-Hulk movie.

In the comics Hank Pym (who was Ant Man, Giant Man, & Yellowjacket) is one of the leading characters in the Avengers and Black Widow doesn't even come into the fold until a year or so later; not sure why you're angry about the whole Ant-Man/Wasp issue though.
In the movie world they made her an original Avenger member, but just like another poster said I'm kind of tired of Scarlet Johansson; but I'm just saying I want more representation of some great characters that Marvel has to offer; I'm still mad they killed off Tony Stark though cause he was their financial backer for so many of what they do, not S.H.I.E.L.D. who has been living off of Tony's, Hank's, & Tony's father's inventions.

9. "I'm fine with a BW movie, but the idea of doing prequels in the MCU" In response to Reply # 5
seems a bit strange. I get that the timeline isn't always linear - obviously the first Captain America movie happened earlier in the timeline than Ironman or other movies that preceded it, and Captain Marvel was set in the 90's. But that's different, since those characters hadn't already been introduced.
In BW's case she's not only been introduced, but already undergone a ton of character development ending with her sacrificing her life for the world/universe. So this feels like a step backwards. Also the MCU has so many characters and stories to develop as they tie into the next major threat, it just feels like a waste to do a film back in time.
All of that being said, maybe this is a good opportunity for Marvel to do something different and unexpected, and I'm sure there's an interesting story to be told.

I think Guardians, in particular Guardians 2, was the test run to see if they can successfully expand the MCU on some galactic Star Wars shit.
They probably realized early on that they were fucking up with the Inhumans. If they had put that on the big screen instead of putting it on the small screen and immediately pulling the plug, it could have been the MCU's first major failure and had people thinking that the tide was turning for the worse.
Hopefully they know to keep it close to Guardians and Ragnarok. Thy have everyone thinking they can do no wrong (even when they give us Iron Man 3 and the Dark World) but they can easily take an L with The Eternals.
