...is used as inspiration and to shape its sensibilities, rather than doing a 12-episode re-telling the story in the comic.

With the animated story and what not?

I didn't. I was curious. I wondered if it made it more layered and complex...or if it was just extra shit that only the diehard fans would really care about.

But I guess I'm not curious enough to sit down and set aside the 3 hours for it, though.

I guess I'm up for the show, though. Why not? I think the original source material and adaptation said more than enough, but meh, we'll see where else they can take it.

didn't see there was one already here...

well, I was pleasantly surprised by that first ep...

I wasn't sure what I expected really....but, if I'm honest , I kinda went in giving it a little 'side eye' due to the Lindelof connection (my wife is STILL salty about Lost)....but then again, I ALSO KNEW Regina King was gonna do her thing, and she did NOT disappoint, so I was gonna watch just for her....

but yeah, that first episode has me intrigued....so I'm in, for now**

(**as I recall, LOST also had me intrigued at the start too, but then had to tap out of THAT after season 2 or 3 because I felt they were just winging it at that point....

so, we'll see how this Watchmen progresses...but, yeah, ep 1 has me interested in seeing whats coming next....

have you listened to
her stuff?

then watched in confusion as the show proceeded to not show any of it. Props for going with something different I guess (esp considering where fan culture is at right now), and the preview for the coming weeks looked good, but this ep didn't feel as satisfying as I hoped (though the Black Wall St opening was shattering). Regina King is the best as always tho

a) There was already a movie about the graphic novel, and so
OBVIOUSLY that isn't what they were going to do Lol. Did you
think they were going to make the movie that they already
made, but in the form of a TV show?

b) Ironically, episode 1 was MUCH more in the spirit of the
graphic novel than the movie was. Tone & essence.

I just made my wife watch the movie with me. The movie is enough, replace bomb with squid monster and that’ll about takes care of it. Not about to get into Black Freighter and comic book page symmetry.

Like OE said this is more like the graphic novel than the film was. And it feels like a natural progression from where that left off.

I have been going through the shows IMDB page to figure out who planted the seed and helped write this white supremacy storyline.

There trying to suggest that Jermey Irons is Ozymondias/Veidt, but he's really Dr. Manhattan, right? And the castle is Mars? And the butler and maid are being that he created? He says at the end of the comic (and maybe in the movie) that he's going to try to create life. And they're clearly a little off (mistaking a horseshoe for a knife).

Just my thoughts.

...when they show "Dr. Manhattan from Mars" on the TV, they show him standing in front of building that looks A LOT like Jeremy Irons' castle, which then collapses. So it could well be that he's been trying lots of time to create life, and this is just his latest attempt.

Towards the beginning of the pilot, Dr Manhattan is seen on Mars building what looks like a castle, not dissimilar to the estate Jeremy Irons (presumably Ozymandias) resides in. With Irons' butler mistaking a horseshoe for a knife (perhaps a clue that the butler is a newly-created person) and his obvious reference to Dr Manhattan with the play title "Watchmaker's Son", could Jeremy Irons be on Mars, or perhaps even Manhattan's new universe?

Actress Regina King has been onscreen for more than three decades, working in films and TV shows such as 227 and American Crime. But winning several high-profile awards has rocketed her career to new heights.

King won an Oscar and a Golden Globe for her performance in Barry Jenkins' If Beale Street Could Talk and has won three Emmys in recent years.

King has also stepped into the role of director on multiple occasions and vowed to produce projects with 50 percent women.

She stars in the new HBO series 'Watchmen,' which is inspired by the graphic novel of the same name. The show deals heavily with issues of race and policing.

King and Sam Sanders discuss what it's like to see those topical issues in American culture reflected in art — and what it means to have difficult conversations about race.

This episode was produced by Anjuli Sastry and edited by Alexander McCall.
America has imported more warlord theocracy from Afghanistan than it has exported democracy.

>Had a hard time explaining the Ozymandias/Dr. Manhattan
>scenes to my wife and dude will only get more prominent.

The movie fucks it up and blames the attack on Dr. Manhattan.

This series is following the giant alien squid timeline.

And the plot was discovered - it didn't work as a long term solution.

So you can tell her this:
1)Dr. Manhattan was/is the only known being with actual super powers, which were caused by being exposed to an "intrinsic" field. He turns blue, bald, bald, and has a huge blue cock.

2)There were masked heroes in the past with no super powers - ala Batman - some were good, some were bad, but all were outlawed by the Keane act.

3)Nixon won Vietnam and was reflected as president for more than 20 years - thanks to Dr Manhattan as our super-weapon.

4)The world is very very close to nuclear war.

5)Dr Manhattan is losing interest in humanity and maybe/probably isn't going to stop the war.

6)Dr. Oz is a masked hero and the world's smartest man. He has a plot to stop the nuclear war, but it involves getting rid/killing all the masked heroes AND he has to get rid of Dr. Manhattan or the plot will not work since the US. This is around 1986/1987.

7)Two masked heroes -- Nite Owl and Rorshack are investigating the death of masked heros.

8)They end up having Silk Spector help. Silk Spector is Laurie in episode 3, which is in 2019. Laurie dated Dr. Manhattan but he's going cold on her. She ends up dating Nite Owl in the 1986/1987 timeline. (Dr. Manhattan's human part is still in love with her - but being a god it seems trivial to him now.)

9)Oz's plot is discovered by Nite Owl/Rorsahck/Laurie/Dr Manhattan - but they discovered it and confront Dr. Oz too late - it had already happened 20 minutes before.

10)Oz's plan to stop nuclear war actually happens and kills millions of people in New York. It involves simulating a giant alien squid teleporting into New York - which causes a giant explosion killing millions.

11)Rorschach (who wears the mask the 7th cavalry people wear) has written all he discovered into a diary and sent it to a right wing/fascist magazine/newspaper.

12)Rorschach is killed by Dr. Manhattan to stop him from telling the world about the plot - because he thinks the plot would work. He did not know of the diary.

13)Nuclear war is averted, but Rosahck is dead, and Dr Manhatatn leaves earth because nothing is holding him there. Nite Owl and Laurie appear to be together.

14)It appears now that the plan worked. The US flag seems to have a TON more stars. Robert Redfor has been president for 30 years.

Probably all caught up.

And if she says it sounds like hot garbage, link her to this:

In response to Reply # 0

I'm not sure if that's just what toys/models do in this timeline, or if they're trying to indicate that he has some sort of special powers. I will note that the castle/building that he was making looks an awful lot like the place where Jeremy Irons is hanging out and the place that they showed Dr. Manhattan making on Mars.

Reiterating that there's almost 0% chance that Irons is Ozymondias. And he isn't someplace "real"/natural, if for no other reason than tomatoes don't grow on trees. Still guessing that he's on Mars, but it might not even be really happening. Like it's all inside someone's head.

Lot of other weird shit going on, like lots of talk about Dr. Manhattan being able to be different places at once.

Very good second episode. Well-acted and constructed and keeping me on my toes.

Yeah they are implying that he isn’t on earth or is in some kind of constructed reality with the tomatoes growing on trees and clones that are a little off.

And he is attempting to break/get out of prison. It seems like his prison isn’t on earth but it may not necessarily be on Mars or even in space, he could be in another dimension. Also, perhaps he was put there by Dr. Manhattan as punishment for his attack on New York.

I believe Louis Gossetts character grows up to be Hooded Justice. The colors of his coat match that of HJs costume and notice both the dead guy in the bay (on the TV show within Watchmen) and Don Johnson’s character were both missing the same shoes.

And not only that, all these scenes are happening in the past. And a year is passing each year between each scenes; the cake that they give him is up to three candles. I think it ends with Dr. Manhattan destroying the castle just like they show him doing on the first episode of the show in the Mars feed. So Ozy would be declared dead at the same point that he is dead.

Yeah, I think this too. HJ also always has a noose around his neck and the "hood" is vaguely KKK-ish. They also show his fascination with masked superheroes from a young age in the first scene of the show.

Questlove's Finding Your Roots Appearance Directly Influenced a Storyline on Watchmen
Showrunner Damon Lindelof explained on HBO's official Watchmen podcast.

https://www.menshealth.com/entertainment/a29741106/questlove-watchmen-finding-your-roots/

Here's a decent bet: you probably wouldn't expect one of the most popular musicians in America to directly influence a high-concept HBO comic book show. But on the official Watchmen podcast, Damon Lindelof recounted how Questlove—drummer for The Roots and star of The Tonight Show—influenced key concepts that made it directly into the new series.

Lindelof says he's "obsessed" with the show Finding Your Roots, where Henry Louis Gates (who appears in a cameo on Watchmen as a fictionalized version of himself serving as the U.S. Secretary of Treasury) helps celebrities learn more about their heritage.

Lindelof recalls the episode vividly, particularly the moment Gates reveals to Questlove that his distant ancestors came to America on the last ship carrying slaves. He tells Questlove where they landed, where they settled, and more.

"As he's telling the story, Questlove starts to have this incredibly emotional reaction," Lindelof say. "He says 'I feel like I know who I am.'" (His quote verbatim, as you can see in the video below, is "Until an hour ago, I didn't know who I was.")

Lindelof, who is part-Ashkenazi Jewish, had ancestors who survived World War II, which profoundly impacted how he viewed himself growing up. He told Variety his grandparents' survival “resulted in me."

He continues on the podcast:

"That's not something that I could really relate to, as a white person, as it pertains to the last 400 years of history in America that was visited upon people who were brought here to this country and enslaved, and all the treasure of this country was basically born upon their backs.
That said, I understand the idea of knowing who I am based on understanding the trials and tribulations and trauma visited upon my grandparents. So, hearing that my grandparents just got out of Russia right before they would've been shipped off to concentration camps actually creates an emotional reaction in me, and suddenly I feel like that's a piece of the puzzle of who I am, even though this person died 20 years before I was born. Suddenly, I was like that feels very Watchmen to me."
This observation translates directly to the second episode of Watchmen, when the mysterious, wheelchair-bound Will Reeves tells Regina King's Angela Abar his intent: "I came to tell you who you are."

We haven't gotten a ton of answers yet as to what Will meant by who Angela is, but just the mere fact that she now knows that they're related is a start, and represents a path toward the sort of enlightenment that Lindelof describes, and that he witnessed Questlove experience.

"This is something that I feel like all of us as humans are striving to do—we want to understand who we are, and why we do the things we do, and why we feel anxious and scared, and it's hard for us to separate what was inherited—what came from our parents, and their parents before them, and what was unique to us," he said. "And you need to know who you are before you can separate those things out."

To hear the full conversation between Lindelof and Chernobyl creator Craig Mazin, you can listen to the Watchmen podcast below. The Finding Your Roots conversation begins at 23:45.

It's honestly amazing that something this rich, this challenging, and this good got made at all.

When we used to posit that the only way for Watchmen to be done is as an HBO Series, I don't think we imagined it would be this excellent (and honestly, it wouldn't have been).

Special shout out to Regina King, Jovan Adepo, and Danielle Deadwyler for each giving such powerful performances. I'll watch each of them in anything

How this show started great and keeps getting better is absolutely beyond me.

I'm hoping of course you're familiar with The Leftovers. Regina King knocks it out the park in the second season. To be honest, I should follow my own advice and track down a Blu-Ray for all three seasons as watching this again will be somewhat new for me since I've forgotten a great deal about this show.

To be fair, if memory serves me correct, I think Watchmen deals with racial matters a lot more than The Leftovers did since subject matters on The Leftovers were far more supernatural and out there than The Watchmen.

You know what, it's funny I never fucked w/ the Leftovers because I saw the writing on the wall early w/ Lost and was like 'not these niggas again'

After this and the strong word of mouth for the Leftovers I'm gonna check for it

Season 1 is decent, but kind of required viewing to enjoy the later seasons.

I say that as someone who loved the first few seasons of Lost, but was not happy with the last half of the show or so.

After the Lost finale and people telling me Season 1 is just okay, I stayed away from it.

I really think dude learned some leasons from Lost. Primarily, if you set up a mystery, you are cheating the audience if you don't deliver an answer/resolution.

I was worried about Watchmen having all sorts of loose ends but they are tying them up in record pace on the backend of the season.

This show really reminds me of the energy of watching the first couple of seasons of Lost.

I do agree Lindelof learned his lesson though.

But the difference was he said from the very beginning - maybe even before the show started - not to expect complete answers. He said he was never going to explain The Rapture, why it happened, where the people went, etc., and he never did. He made it clear that was not the point of the show.

So I suppose the lesson he learned was not to keep making empty promises of explaining the plot and its circumstance, and instead say, you still won't get what you want, but at least I will be honest about that.

In response to Reply # 0

Like, by now they've made it clear that all of his scenes are happening the past, during his seven year disappearance. I'll even go as far as to say that the gold statue of him that's in the Millenium Clock headquarters **is** him ("Why'd you make him so old?" (c) Laurie). That's likely what crashed on the land that Lady Trieu bought in the beginning of episode 4.

I've thought that Dr. Manhattan put him there as punishment. But was it Lady Trieu to get him out of the way while she makes the clock and takes over the world? That seems a little too obvious.

They also made it a point to have Will remind Angela that Dr. Manhattan can be multiple places at once, so is he on Europa/Mars? (him destroying the castle in the first episode)

And what's the purpose of the clock? Friend thinks it's something that can destroy Dr. Manhattan. Or Keene if he becomes Manhattan. The prevailing theory is that it's a time machine that Lady Trieu wants to use to stop the squid/Vietnam/Dr. Manhattan from being created. I would be really disappointed if that we the case.

I mean, you can "get" most of it by watching the movie, but there are plot points in the book/not in the film that are pretty essential to plot. The comic will also prep you for the structure of some of the episodes.

Truthfully, I know people who love it who haven't seen the flick or read the book, but the show would absolutely be throwing you in the deep end of the pool.

after such a stellar episode, but it felt a bit weird to me to see Laurie spill the beans to Don Johnson's wife so freely, given that she is such a cynical character on the show. Felt a bit weird to see her be so trusting in someone that's pretty much a complete stranger. Then again, I should have faith in the show runners deciding to make the character go down that road.

So I'm assuming Looking Glass is going to have to come and save her? I hope he show doesn't go the route to have him sacrifice his life for her benefit after all the shade she threw at him.

I thought Laurie spilled the beans to Don Johnson's Wife because she really isn't convinced that there is this big conspiracy afoot. I just saw her as doing the routine follow-up that is required as an FBI agent. Like, "sorry to bother you but I have to chase down this silly lead we have".

This episodes "You won't use your powers unless your in a life threatening situation as a reflex" line has jarringly bad.

And when it repeated in flashback I thought "man, how fucking stupid do they think I am????????"

I also think these are becoming heavier on "normal" plot points.

I'd say the first 6 episodes were FUCKINNNGGG AWESOMMMEEEE and these last two have been "Pretty Good."

>1. Who, where and what role will Lube Man play next week? I

Kinda has to be Petey. I don't think there are other characters left, and they're not introducing someone "new" in the final episode.

>was his crash landing in Tulsa on the land that Lady Trei

Yep, I agree. Said so above. I'll also reiterate that I think he **is** the Gold Statue. Either he got changed before he left or Lady Trieu did it.

>3. Who has been doing the fake squid scares while Adrian has
>been on Europa?

Guessing Lady Trieu. She has his technology and resources and the money.

>4. Did Adrian say he had to get back to his 8 million children
>or did he say 8 billion? 8 billion would make more sense.

Closed Captioning said 8 million, but I agree that it's probably 8 billion. He means everyone on Earth.

>5. What is/does the Millennium Clock do?

Common theory is it's a time machine so Trieu can go back in time and change everything. I'd hate that.

Another possible is that it's something that she'll use in conjunction with the mind control technology that Hooden Justice has and the studies in empathy that her "daugther"/mother are doing. Like, maybe she thinks she can saved the world by making everyone feel what everyone else is going through, and understand their pain. I don't love that either, but it's better than time travel.

as mentioned previously, my wife was side-eyeing this show at the start, because of Lost/Lendelof connection. (she was not a fan of that there)

but im surprised & happy to say that after watching Watchmen, all is forgiven. Hell, more than just 'forgiven', she's ready to invite that brother over to the family reunion dinner now lol!

Seriously mr Lindelof, well done sir! Congrats to you & your entire staff, really a great job here.
I too, for different reasons than my wife, was simply not expecting to like this show that much....but i was SOLD at the close of the 1st episode. It became my favorite show on the air now.

btw folks, if you havent already, check out the official HBO podcast of the show, and also this interview here....https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lmC08TGaMFI

Look, my gut reaction last night and into today is that the finale was the weakest episode of the series. It left me a little cold and I think some of that is just the nature of the medium and having to bring stories to a close.

They absolutely did NOT drop the ball or fumble the bag by any stretch of the imagination. In fact, I think the finale will improve upon re-watch. It's just that the episodes preceding it were so groundbreaking and so well done that to finish on a well-executed episode that is rather conventional in its story-telling was bound to be a bit of a letdown. There's still so much to unpack in the finale and the series as a whole does not suffer for it which was everyone's worry heading into this week. They pulled it off.

Sure there were some bits that were too neat, the ending was perhaps too hopeful given that it is, at the end of the day, Watchmen. But as a series capper it serves to bring this story to an end and makes me eager to revisit the series again soon.

Most importantly what they did was they made Watchmen. Think about that. They did what was once thought impossible and what the movie failed so spectacularly at doing. Why the film is such an absolute failure to me is that it is Watchmen on only the most surface level. It is a near perfect facsimile in every way except any way that actually matters.

The show is Watchmen through and through in all the ways that something bearing the name should be. It is bold. It is groundbreaking. It is confrontational. It invites exploration, discussion, inspection and introspection. Just like the comic it is both timely and timeless. The fact that it got made at all is a minor miracle. The fact that it is truly a worthy successor to Watchmen is a major one.

There was really no good way to spin that novel into a movie. Whatever way or take you have on the material just won't translate or be true to the source. Snider's version had it's issues, but I don't hold that totally against him because ANY director would have issues making a movie based on the novel.

With this series, telling a story in the future with a backstory from the past centered in the universe the novel posits is a much better proposition, as you're not beholden to characters or storylines from the novel. Yes, you have to keep the throughlines there, and the motivations for the characters that showed up (Laurie, Ozzy) have to ring true, but you're free from making a sequel, so you can tell the story you want to tell as long as it fits the narrative of the world the novel created.

I wouldn't be mad if they did a totally different story arc next season like 22 Stories of Springfield

I totally hold it against him for creating a film that fully misunderstands the material. Yes, of course film wasn't the best medium to tell the story. However, the fact that he made an utterly empty shell of the original is ultimately his fault. Lindelhof and team could have made the SAME mistake and created something that was 'Watchmen' in name only. The thing is, they didn't and not just because of the medium. Because they understood what makes Watchmen tick (yuck).

It's the same reason DC films don't work. He doesn't understand the source material beyond the surface level. He understands cool but not why people connect with the material.

I would be very happy if they left this as a one and done and I don't think Lindelhof will just jump back in for no reason. Everything I've heard from him has shown a great degree of care and respect, if not reverence he has for the material and the awareness and willingness to get out of the way.

They would be fools to do it just because of the success of this season and a beyond fools to do it with anyone else.

Two different things. Linselhof and Co. crafted a story in the world the graphic novel created. Snider and Co. tried to translate the world the graphic novel created. I think any director and writer would have come up with a shell of the story if they tried to show it as a mainstream movie. I'm not defending any of his stylistic or story choices (though I think remixing the squad attack was probably a good idea for the masses), but I"m not sure any other director's choices would have been much better, ultimately.

Here I agree. If this is an anthology, I'd be happy. Going forward could work, but almost isn't necessary (on a practical level the amount of nudity that story would need is daunting). If this ends up being a one shot I would be perfectly fine. Don't Matrix this one, leave on a high note and KIM

I just found out that Tom Mison aka Ichabod Crane from Sleepy Hollow was Ozymandias' butler. I never in a million years would have guessed that.

was the lack of nuance the villains received in the end, given that this is The Watchmen universe and all. I wonder if all the grief Lindelof received for Lost was the reason he ended the show with so many neat and tidy bows wrapped around everything. In addition, Looking Glass was pretty much an afterthought in the end, which is sad given how stellar the character started out.

I hope the blu-Ray sales for this season go through the roof and I also hope there are numerous commentary tracks so give added insight from all the folks involved with the show. I'll have to find time this weekend to listen to the three HBO podcast audio interviews dedicated for this season.

I really hope they do additional commentary with other folks from the cast/creative team too even though I haven't bought a blu-ray since I don't know when.

To be honest, I binged this over last night and this afternoon, and as a nine hour movie or whatever Trieu never seemed like she had much evil in her - if anything, just incredibly uncomfortable around people - other than Jeremy Irons' reasons for why she could never harness that power responsibly and all the vague tech giant stuff you'd just have to bring to it from outside.

She came off pretty altruistic overall to me, and even not having read the books or seen the movie that flip felt like it needed to build for an episode first. The resolution to the Looking Glass and Ozymandias storylines seemed abrupt too.

But whatever, this season of TV was incredible overall, nitpicking it feels disingenuous and like you said, there's a reason the season finale is usually kind of a let down from the episode prior to it.

Actually, I let this post linger over night while I listened through The Watch podcast's recaps of the show. They were BIG fans of the original book and they also felt like the show took a little bit of a dip in the last three episodes, but were able to pinpoint why a little easier: unlike a lot of shows like this, Watchmen started completely subverting expectations and eventually became a straight up Watchmen/comic book show, whereas most shows would start as closely linked to their source material as possible and branch off from there. Which does kind of make you wonder if a 10th episode slotted in there somewhere would've just sent the show further down that road, or been the missing link I'm looking for to solve some minor quibbles.

Huh? the introduction of her character alone was hella fucked up...what she did to that couple trying to have kids just to get their house was PURE EVIL. cruel...callous.

wow. she showed us all her evil off jump.

Like I said, she came off very socially awkward to me, but in the way you'd expect an extreme genius like her to. Like, if Tony Stark and Jeremy Irons (sorry, as a non-comic reader some of the names are hard to remember) are sort of an old-school idealization of that archetype, Trieu is more in line with how we see those types of people now. I guess maybe that means you should see her as the modern take on the villain of the original series, but my understanding is that Irons' character was trying to be a hero in his own way, whereas Trieu came off that way to me until she was suddenly just pure evil with the flip of a switch.

Back to the child scene, for me, that couple wanted a biological child, couldn't have one, and then she drops out of the sky like a god and hands them one, however coldly and calculatedly. It really didn't feel evil to me, just that she knew more about that property than they did, and that they ultimately would value that child as much as she valued the property.

HBO won't pursue second season of 'Watchmen' after creator bows out

Gary Levin
USA TODAY

PASADENA, Calif. – "Watchmen" won a loyal following and critical acclaim, as the superhero comics series was adapted into a politically relevant drama about race and the criminal justice system.

But don't look for a second season of the drama, which wrapped up its nine-episode run last month, largely because creator Damon Lindelof isn't interested in doing it.

HBO programming chief Casey Bloys told USA TODAY Wednesday that Lindelof, the co-creator of ABC's "Lost" who also created HBO's "The Leftovers," "brilliantly took this graphic novel and just kind of broke it open and created a whole new world," in which Regina King starred as a masked cop in Tulsa, in a 2019 when Robert Redford is president.

"It's really in Damon’s thinking about what he wants to do. If there's an idea that excited him about another season, another installment, maybe like a 'Fargo,' 'True Detective' (anthology) take on it, or if he wants to do something different altogether. We’re very proud of 'Watchmen,' but what I’m most interested in what Damon wants to do."

The answer: Nothing.

Lindelof told USA TODAY this week that he's told the story he wants to tell and has no interest in a second season, though he's "given my blessing" to HBO should it want to pursue a new installment with another writer-producer.

But Bloys concedes that's unlikely to happen: "It would be hard to imagine doing it without Damon involved in some way."

Sorry, fans, but the season-ending cliffhanger will likely never be resolved.

I'll never know who Lube Guy was, or how an elephant was involved, and I really don't want to think about suitcase dildos, but I think it told the story it wanted to tell, wrapped most of the main storyline up and left it so that, while the rest of the story could be told, it doesn't have to be. If we never find out if Angela becomes the next Dr. Manhattan or nearly drowns in the pool, I'm good. That said, the idea of a blue naked Regina King walking around the screen isn't the worst thing in the world...

Friends at work told me about this show long ago, but the way my work schedule was I could never find time to catch up on the series. Then Covid, protests, politics, etc left me with a lot of time on my hands so I binge watched the season Sunday.

Bravo. I am actually glad I saw it now that then because my entire world view is different. To see this show and see Tulsa and Black being brutalized, then Black cops shot by a White supremacist in a traffic stop, then people wearing masks for protection, then down to even the yellow writing mimicking "Black Lives Matter" on Washington Ave, Hooded Justice and episode 6, manipulative media, traumatized whites that protect themselves in tinfoil lined "red (maga) hats".

OMG it is sensory overload. I have been a fan of Lindloff for his story telling, and my girlfriend hated him for his "Lost" betrayal because of a poor ending. But I would always say that his technique was something to be appreciated, and that with a storyline and SUBSTANCE it could be amazing. I wish I could unsee episode 6 just to go back and rewatch it again for the first time. Omg the way things were sprinkled and breadcrumbed up to that episode, man oh man. I wish that had tied into the ending differently -

*SPOILERS*

At first I thought Trieu was building a machine to mimic the Cyclops technology that Will used, and they were teaming up to mind control White people to atone for their sins both in America and in Vietnam. But not mad at how things were turned out. Bravo again.
