"almost time to pour one out for Moviepass"

they had to get an emergency $5mil just to keep operating late yesterday; looks like the best deal in movie history may have finally run its course. The service was getting more and more annoying ("peak" pricing, that damn receipt picture thing), but dat value can't be beat. I'm sure some hit it a lot harder than me, but I saw 38 movies since November and saved something like $300 so I'm gonna miss it dearly when it finally bites the dust.

Heard good things about AMC's A-List but I need a Regal version, my local AMC does outdoor parking and in Houston that's a no-go 5 months of the year haha

If I made time to get to more movies, it would be worthwhile for me too.

But on a business side, I don't see how MoviePass would ever be able to get profitable. The idea is great for moviegoers but there just isn't a sustainable business model here.

That being said, MoviePass innovation has changed the way the theaters operate which may be its legacy.

If I can't make a screening, wanna see something again or don't get a screening period, I use this. I saved over $200 alone on this.

I wanted to see Blindspotting after I got out from MI: Fallout.

The app wouldn't even allow a reservation smh. Moviepass knew this day would come and did not do enough to mitigate the problem. It's a shame because I really like what they offer but there's still so much bs you have to accept with them.

In San Diego we have 3 E-ticketing thetres, all are working.

The other 30 theaters where you have to use the Moviepass credit card have no show times available.

I am assuming this is a dispute/bill owed to the credit card processing company - and it's likely because they don't have the credit available.

Meanwhile tomorrow/Tuesday is AMC Stubs night - where films cost $5 if you're a member of the free Stub tier.

It's back up for non E-ticket theaters but some movies are just not available.

Availablity at example 20 plex - Ant Man and the Wasp, Blindspotting, heredity, Hotel Transylvania 3, Jurassic World, Mama Mia 2,Sicario, Skyscraper, Tag, Teen Titans, The Equalizer 2, The First Purge, Uncle Drew, Unfriended Dark Web, Sorry To Bother You,The Incredibles 2.

The only one missing is Mission Impossible Fallout.

At a local theater with E-ticketing I do see MI Fallout avaialble.

*I would accept a 2 week delay on new movies at this price point.

I hate that I didn't get to catch Blindspotting opening weekend but I had just shelled out some cash for Mission: Impossible in IMAX.

I could live with a delay as well if Moviepass decided to go that route. I just wish they were more forthcoming with changes instead of always blindsiding their customer base with another batch of bullshit.

The service is still a steal all things considered.
