I finally watched it last night. On a weeknight I am usually so tired that I doze off even at great movies. But man I was into this start to finish.
I haven't even seen the other Purge movies, and I have no interest in watching them any time soon. But this? I was all in start to finish. They had me right from the beginning with Skeletor.
And Dmitri? Dude went from drug lord to First Blood Rambo in no time. Dae was on point calling him the impossible black man. You have all these assassins in masks and bulletproof vests and dude takes them all down John McClain style in just his pants and undershirt lol.
I thought that these movies were more horror-ish but this is straight up action.

The OG is a really contained story of a family surviving Purge Night, so that's where the Horror element comes from. The violence and gore of killing became the only real horror elements, so by the time you get to the First Purge its just the idea that anyone can get it is the only horror elements at this point.
