and i didn't even bother trying to keep it from happening.

truly a kind, gentle, genuine, caring human. we should all strive to embody some of those characteristics to the level that he did.

and yeah man, he was very courageous in some of the topics he chose to discuss and highlight on his show. it was great to really see it now as an adult and appreciate what he did for children and humanity.

Man, even as a little kid, Mr. Rogers creeped me out.

Yeah I watched the show. Maybe I watched it for all the puppet shit, I don't really know. But I do know that there was just something about that smile and that slow, almost too gentle voice of his that made me feel like I would NOT want to be in a room alone with that man. And I was thinking that at like five years old.

I'm glad he's getting his shine though; it seems like he was a genuinely kind soul. Even though it seems like the internet is damn near making him out to be the white MLK, with all the celebrities being outed as shitty people, it's nice to give the spotlight to a inarguably good person--even if said person gave me inexplicable child molester vibes.

but he was really just a big adult kid and had an amazing capability to connect with children. that can come across as creepy to some, so i get it. you should watch the doc, may help you work past the creep factor.

I think I was so intent on consuming content I wasn't supposed to that first of all, I thought he was talking to me like a baby, and I was like I no baby, I a man. Also, I think that horror movies and other stuff had already ingrained in me the person who is uncommonly nice is hiding something. Sad to say, but it took me a long time to value kindness as a virtue.

But now, as a parent, of course it's all I want my four-year-old to watch. Luckily, she doesn't seem to be like I was. We actually took her to see the doc and she liked it a lot.

like i said above, Mr Rodgers just seemed like THAT guy to me. Just genuinely trying to do a little something to help in some way, in his own way. Something good. its kinda a shame on US that that kinda thing is seen as being bold, daring....instead of something normal that we all should try to do in our own little ways, but what he was doing was in a way his own quiet subtle little revolution.
