Even the structure and cheesiness of it feels right part with the original movies. I love it. Very well executed. I wish this was on Netflix and was getting more exposure. YouTube Red fucking up by only having 2 free eps. They want subs they need to give this content for free and prove themselves with at least 1 more original series. The promo they are doing online is great but this def deserves more fans at the moment

with just enough 80s sensibilities weaved in, and love for the source material... but none of it to the point where it feels gimmicky. It's not an easy thing to pull off, and so far it feels flawless i that sense. I'm 5 episodes in now. I Probably wont get to the rest before next week, but i'm loving it.

My gf and I are STRUGGLING this morning because we made the mistake of thinking we'd watch the first two episodes and call it a night. NOPE. Next thing you know I've got a Youtube Red free trial and we binged the whole damn thing.
Such a great show, every single performance was pitch perfect and the writing was amazing. This had no reason to be even 1/4 as good as it was as there are an infinite number of ways to fuck this up and they stuck ALL the landings.

who thinks RM has seriously declined as an actor?
one of the things that most impressed me abt the original as it aged is how standout of a performance young RM was able to give - I thought he was phenomenal in that role tbh
but as an older adult he seems way less sincere, less skilled even
I know the piece by design includes a generous helping of cheese, but even still - seems like his work was far better the first time around
i'm trying to remember what i thought of him in the deuce... and i cant really

Ralph has never been a great actor, and as you kind of alluded to here I think generally he's about as good as.. or will be in line with whatever he has to work with (see KKIII), so in that sense I thought he was kind of perfect here.

Damn this was amazing! Johnny can act man, didn't expect this at all. The music, characters, everything done so well. When Daniel sees that billboard, I had to pause to contain myself, funny as shit. The nerds become the bullies, shit was a blast. Can't wait for season 2. Yes Sensai!

my wife who hates Karate Kid, which is I think more so because I love it than actually watching the movie. Well anyways she loved this. But my son and I are huge fans of the original. He was Daniel for Halloween 2 years ago. While we were watching he was catching the musical nods to the original and could point out which scene they took place and my wife had no clue. He was like dad remember this song from when they were on the beach? Or this song when Daniel was on the boat learning balance? My wife didnt even get the song from Golf n Stuff. Im going to make her watch the original this week. I think she will appreciate Cobra Kai even more after a more recent viewing. But really good stuff. Zabka did amazing. The nods to the original were great I especially loved the retelling of the Johnny's run ins with Daniel. That was good stuff. Cant wait for season 2.
