Yo I caught this yesterday afternoon at the Alamo Drafthouse in Downtown Brooklyn. They managed to get on of the last 35MM prints for this.

I can see why this film has been banned. Shit is fucked up, but there's a method to the madness here. Nothing here is done without thought.

Some really strong themes of religious fanaticism and power. I think this would complement Silence well in a double feature. Albeit that'd be a punishing double feature.

I'm really excited to check out Ken Russell's other films cause this dude can frame and shot and move the camera like he's Spielberg.
