First off, Bernie, i love you & miss you man.
you are one of those people that, while you were here, sure i loved ya, but i don't think i realized HOW much i loved ya until i heard you were gone...(well really, loved your CRAFT because i didn't actually KNOW you personally)

You & Alan Rickman both come to mind...i reacted to your losses much more than i EXPECTED to. I mean, its sad when anyone moves on of course, but with you & Rickman, i was really genuinely sad, as if i'd lost some friends. it was kinda weird for me to be honest, because I'm NOT known as an emotional cat, but i was truly bummed. There was something in your stuff that hit home for me. Something about how you both approached your craft, what you put into it, the heart & soul, and how you all presented it...it was extra special, and it was on target for me. So yeah, while i absolutely appreciated ya'll when you were here doing your thing, i dont think i was FULLY aware of how deeply i loved it till you were gone.

....errr...

well now...that took a left turn...

...lawd, hah! this was SUPPOSED to be a post about 'when are the rest of the seasons of 'The Bernie Mac Show' gonna be available on dvd/blu-ray, lol!

so yeah, anyone know that? I know it airs on tv and all of that, but i'm one of those old schoolers who still likes to own some things on tangible media (blu ray preferred, but will settle for DVD if thats all I'm gonna get. i bought season 1 DVDs long ago and assumed the rest would come soon too, but they never did...

Maybe i'll track down Larry Wilmore to see if he has the scoop on what the holdup is (he was exec Producer of that show i believe)

have you listened to
her stuff?

if enough people demand it, unless there is some rights issue, it often comes out. sometimes they go the manufactured on demand (dvd-r) route, and for my money i'd rather stick with netflix streaming (in HD as applicable) than overpay for a burned disc with no extras and iffy player compatibility. it sucks, but when you can get a whole season of a show on blu-ray with extras for under $10, you don't want to pay $20-40 for a MOD joint in standard def without any remastering.

tvshowsondvd.com is probably still a good site for gauging fan demand.
