>this year. And by filler I mean episodes that aren't directly >tied to the overall arc of the beginnings of the Rebel >Alliance, Ezra's development as a Jedi and temptation to the >dark side, or major villains like Vader, Maul, Tarkin, Thrawn, >etc. >
I don't like when I see people review these seasons and call episodes "filler". This isn't a movie. Theres many roads and storylines because theres so much going on. If you think about it, this story involves EVERYONE from every movie, book, comic, etc since they have distinguished what is canon and what isn't. For this show specifically its about The Ghost crew but its just their story within the greater story of the Skywalkers. Filler to me is when they do storylines that never make sense in the grand scheme of things that they never come back to or they never make you think BACK ON and be like "ohhh remember when...". When people classify episodes like this as "filler" then you HAVE to classify the entire Star Wars Rebels show as "filler" to the saga, no? I think Filoni is very aware of making sure most episodes have to make sense in the long run. For instance these owl creatures. People can call their appearances "filler" characters but he has already hinted its gonna make sense to us one day.
>The discussion Ezra let which brought Rex and the Super >Tactical Droid together by pointing out that neither the >Republic or Separatists won the Clone Wars and the only winner >was the Empire was huge. If Ezra was able to put that >together, and he wasn't even born until the day the Clone Wars >ended, are there others who lived through it who have figured >that out? I agree with all of this, I would love to see this be discussed more
>It kinda makes me mad about the prequels all over again. >George Lucas had some GREAT ideas for the prequels in telling >about the fall of Anakin to Vader and the fall of the Republic >to the Empire, and he had some GREAT visuals in world building >and action. But his execution of both the story and those >visuals was so bad that the great story he told was kinda lost >in the mix.
Haha i have no problem with the prequels but you are right they coudlve been executed better.
