"If Creed tanks, Michael B Jordan gotta fire his agent"

You can't tell your client to turn down Straight Outta Compton, the summer's sleeper blockbuster, and then watch him go down in flames in an F4 reboot and still rep the hottest young black actor in America. Can you?

Sometimes when you crossover, you don't even go anywhere. Juwan Howard taught us that.

I know they were after him for the upcoming Tupac film and he turned that down.

Who was he gonna play in SOC? I wouldn't have bought him as Dre...only character I could see him playing is Ren and that part wouldn't warrant an actor of his caliber.

Deserving or not.

Creed will be fine. Probs won't make as much as SOC, but it definitely won't tank. That trailer gets a hugely positive reaction from the crowd.

But yeah, he should've been in Dre in SOC. I might have actually cared about Dre's story in that case.

When was the last superhero movie that flopped before this F4. That movie with the cast they had would've seemed like a sure thing. SOC was not. It's not like he made him do after earth 2.

That said, I'm more excited for creed than I have been for any movie in a while.

that's the kinda thinking that got him in consecutive bombs in the first fucking place. Instead of wack ass That Awkward Moment, he coulda had his black ass in Beyond the Lights or The Perfect Man, where he would've been the lead instead of The Nigga That's Always Bombing Wit Miles Teller.

fantastic four WISHES it did as well as After Earth...and so do you.

Really? You're telling me you were sure this was going to be a hit? Didn't lifetime fill a couple of evenings with terrbile biopics about musicians. They're far from guaranteed hits.

And yes, the fantastic four movies have always been terrible, but they've also always done numbers.

Even though the F4 movies have a weird business deal with Marvel Studios, the Marvel comic book movies are automatic gold at the box office.

I think when the movie was cast people may have had doubts about the potential box office, but there didn't seem to be many doubts about the quality of the movie.

Marvel movies are like Apple stock. No one passes on that.

F4 was the equivalent of the new Apple TV being released, but the product only containing the paper box and a tv schedule. It would tank.

I mean, it's okay to like it. Shit, I'd watch Das EFX biopic starring Mekhi Phifer and Marques Houston.

But Creed looks actually good. And it's pretty much tank proof in the box office.

And I'd much rather watch that than MBJ say shit like, "Momma, you don't know what I'm fighting for" with my music producing.... He can argue with his mom about actually fighting.

Fruitvale which vaulted him into movie star is more of a Denzel flick than Will.

Denzel didn't have a box office smash until Pelican Brief. And he was almost 40.

You wanna be the best and most respected Black male lead or a bankable hit maker? That's basically where he's at right now.

I think his lane is more Denz than Will, because his crossover appeal and overall personality isn't quite on Will's level.

That was the one where people recognized that homie could really go in. Held his own against Sutherland the entire film. It wasn't until Badboys and really Independence Day where Will changed his trajectory.

Which means it'd easily make its money back at total box office. It's not a SOC level hit, of course-- but it's also far more of a star vehicle than SOC was, so if it's a hit at all, it's great for MBJ.

He said two things only one of which was problematic. First was that he wants roles that would normally be casted for a white actor which I took it to be more along the lines of Chris Rock's "Don't put me in the black role ghetto"

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/top-five-filmmaker-chris-rock-753223

and the second was him badly fumbling him trying to explain fucking one of the Jenners/that ended up a 'I date all races' speech (which translates to I love my white girls in hollywood speak).

Which is fine (ask Taye Diggs) just don't advertise it.

When I read this reply it reminded me of a conversation earlier in the week where someone mentioned the same thing. So I was like, 'lemmie see what this asshole said' and I expecting him saying something against #blm or at least giving a new negro (c)Skateboard P speech. It just seemed slow gossip day pile on.

"...I gave a speech just a few months ago on the importance of the Black Lives Matter Movement at the BET Awards. It is frustrating to see a false claim stirred up on social media which has caused my supporters to question where I stand on this crucial issue. But I am confident that my history and continued engagement with my community will speak louder than unfounded rumors."

The gossip rags took this part of the GQ profile and ran with it...

"Jordan was recently photographed leaving a Met Gala afterparty in New York at the same time as Kendall Jenner... it stirred up a little online squall, with those who presented themselves as Jordan’s fans almost universally hostile to the idea.

"It’s the world we live in,” says Jordan. “They see white and black. I don’t. Kendall’s a friend of mine, you know. I don’t know her, like, that well, but I know her enough. People’s perspective on that is what it is. I don’t fucking know. I don’t live my life to make other people happy. It’s so weird, though, right? A lot of black fans were feeling like, ‘Oh, my God, he should have been with a black woman’ and that whole thing. I get it, but on the other hand it’s, like, relax. You know—it’s 2015. It’s okay! People can like one another, not necessarily from the same history or culture or whatever the fuck it is. It’s just the new world, you know what I mean?”

NOOOOOWWWWW

Dude did say some borderline problematic 'Im a player' shit in his interview and he deserves to be roasted. But there's a difference to say he's a dick when it comes to dating and linking him to a anti-black conservative movement.

Star Wars Rumor: Michael B. Jordan In Contention For Boba Fett Role In Standalone Film

Jay Jayson- 10/10/2015

Jeff Sneider from The Wrap, revealed during his Meet the Movie Press podcast that Straight Outta Compton director F. Gary Gray was considering two films for his next project. One was the eighth Fast & Furious film, which he recently confirmed that he will be directing, and the other was a LucasFilm project, which Jeff believes was for either Indiana Jones 5 or the Boba Fett standalone movie that Fantastic Four director Josh Trank was once attached to.

While dropping this juicy nugget, Jeff said that he thinks "Boba Fett will be African-American" and he has heard a rumor that Michael B. Jordan is being considered to play Star Wars' notorious bounty hunter.

Additionally, he believes that Walt Disney Studios is making every effort to hire a non-white male director to helm the project to satisfy their new diversity mandate.

They've been talking about doing it ever since Disney bought the franchise. Three origins movies have always been In the works: Han Solo, Yoda, and Boba Fett.
