He went from making two of my favorite movies ever to not even getting me into the theater for the last one.

Let's see if he can make this one work.

It looks like a movie that was made ten years ago but is now getting released because the lead actors made it big.

The cast is amazing but that was one lousy trailer.

But that I know is me just being a fanboy. I think it's an enjoyable film, but it's main problem is that Orlando Bloom is terrible in it. And since he's the lead, it takes the film down with him. But it has two of my favorite Cameron Crowe moments in it. I love the cellphone meetup, and I love the mixtape roadtrip.

The tapdance.

Waaaaaaay too precious. Even by Crowe standards.

I'll try the movie again one day.

My brother and I said the same thing last night.

I didn't really understand what was happening for the first 15 to 20 minutes.

But I mean you knew what was gonna happen when everyone was first introduced.

This makes a nice date movie. Everyone else can wait to rent this shit or even wait for cable.

Summer Movie Season 2015 has been a real drag so far outside of Mad Max and Avengers.

It's not really a major plot point-- mostly just to explain how she knows so much about Hawaii, I gathered. Regardless, they drop it after about fifteen minutes.

copious amounts of MOP, Mobb Deep juxtapose rachet bangers while eating enchiladas verdes and drinking Modelo Negros

i don't fuck with any of them. Yes, not even Jerry Maquire. Vanilla Sky is "interesting", but that's it. His narratives and worlds are everything I detest about American story telling

ok, bye

The cinematic axis of evil: John Hughes, Cameron Crowe and Richard Linklater. They are to movies as 'Chicken Soup For the Soul' is to literature.

That's still not saying much. The leads have good chemistry though, and Crowe's still great with snappy dialogue and/or occasional terrific moments. The plot's a mess (you can feel that the movie is supposed to be 15-20 minutes longer, a lot of scenes/beats are short-cutted in a big way), but it's diverting and likable. Way better than I expected, certainly better than the critical broiling it's received.
