Some stuff was funny: Abi's dance performance (best part), all the Zack Braff references, and the White Power suit. A lot of the rest didn't do much for me.

I was rolling when Abbi said, "it'll make more room in my mouth". The frozen yogurt scenes, Abbi & her vicodin trip, Ilana & her model poses (uncensored in the DVD?), followed by her old person pelvis, damn that episode was hilarious.

This show & many other comedies like it suffer from the same thing: Lack of the straight man & normalcy
Broady City is a cast full of Kramers with no Jerrys. Everyone is random & off-beat which would be cool if the writing was strong The humor seems to hinge on eccentric characters, sight gags & silly dialogue
Someone needs to tell these writers & performers to stop tryna bite Bill Murray & Will Ferrell

susie essman obviously kills it, but ilana's entire family is perfect, down to the final scene with her parents. loved their shouting diatribes at the cops and the guy walking on the street, their bring-your-own nail polish, and the sewer purses.
and i don't know who can say they saw that storyline with abbi coming. you knew it wouldn't last between them, but goddamn.

We get them fucking up a coat check closet, interrupting an orgy, a David Wain appearance and Ilana obliviously falling for herself BEFORE Kelly Ripa's prostitute/moonshine party.
This show has been hitting on every level.
