At the very least, the director should win for Episode 4. Hopefully more, but the fanbases are so rabid for Breaking Bad and Game of Thrones that I don't think they'll let that happen.

There's no way that they pass up the chance to give McConaughey the Emmy the same year he wins an Oscar. Cranston's already got three, so Matt will get his.

I'd bet on Pizzolatto winning too. And the show has a solid chance of taking the Best Drama Emmy as well.

Woody's character showed more range throughout the show, more was demanded from Woody from an acting standpoint, and he was just as convincing/good as Matty. Rust Cohle was the more memorable character, but that's mainly due to the writing.

And while I think both were great, I think Matt was slightly better. Even more for the stuff in the "flashbacks" than for his monologues hile talking to Brother Mouzone.

The "Sneaky Pete" story = humble.

Leading with "Even I almost voted for Matt" = "Matt deserved it."

Doesn't mean Cranston wasn't great and didn't give an all-time great performance in "Ozymandias," but Matt was better. The Emmys love a good coronation.

I thought McConaughey was great, but Cranston was the real all-timer. Others can argue the other way. There's no right answer.

But if Cranston really thought McConaughey should have won, he would've said so plainly, or he would've invited him onto the stage with him (not an unprecedented move in awards show history). We can try to analyze why he said what he said all day long, but we'll never know, unless he says in some interview some day, "Matt should have won, I don't know what they were thinking."

I thought Cranston said that because (a) he thought Matt was great, and (b) it was acknowledgment that most people thought Matt would win. Maybe I'm right. Maybe you're right. Maybe both. Maybe neither. Who knows.

If it wasn't part of another year where the Emmys weren't very creative, I wouldn't feel like it was another let-down of an awards show.

I'm sorry an excellent season of "Breaking Bad" got swept-up in this narrative, but it was another year where the Emmy voters took very few risks, and when they, it was over kinda dumb shit.

I mean, really, another Emmy for Modern Family? Jim Parsons? Two more acting awards for American Horror Story? Rewarding Cumberbatch after the weakest season of Sherlock? It all felt like an anti-climax.

and clean...didn't try to get a rise out of people. Loved the "not to be outdone, NBC is also a network" joke and the Caruso turn to the camera.

Best presenters were probably Kimmel and Gervais. "That's not even a TV face, that's a Netflix face"....Lol.

Billy Crystal's little tribute was pretty decent, lol at Robin saying his favorite baseball team was the "San Franciscos"

That's the problem with not having someone who can neither act, do stand-up, nor be a song/dance man. A bunch of softball jokes given a flat delivery.

The Sid Caesar two-word punchline in the In Memoriam made me laugh more than Seth, I hate to say. I wasn't someone who hated him on WU either-- this just didn't seem his venue imo.

... Wish him the best, but dude's gonna have a harder time moving on from Jesse Pinkman than Jesse is gonna have moving on from being a meth slave.

I'm more pleased that "Ozymandias" specifically won something than "Breaking Bad" sweeping in general.

maybe 5 people who never won an Emmy won one, the rest were people with miltple nominations and wins

...i'm a little upset Dinklage didn't win, cause TO ME, he outacted everyone this year....Matt was great , but i didn't think he was any better than Woody on that show and honestly i felt like people were going overboard like there was no performance better...

....they basically shut MM OUT huh?? there were some great performances from everyone this season

....i don't like how they catogorized some of these shows but whatever...

oh, and there's not best animated show category?? in 2014??

..and much love to Joe Morton for winning one, that guy's been putting in quality work for decades...( was he the only person of color to even win an Emmy that "night"?)

Why would you think there was no Animated Emmy? Because it didn't air on Monday?

That award, along with others like Outstanding Guest Actor and Actress - the awards that Joe Morton and Uzo Aduba won - are given out during the Creative Arts Emmy awards, which happened before Monday.

They've been doing this since 2007.

...even during the televised show, they kind of make a slight nod to them by mentioning Joe and the lady from "Mom" who won, but i don't remember any other reference to it...i wish they added those categories into the televised show somehow without it taking 30 mins to give 3 awards....

..i'm glad Bob's Burgers won...i wonder if Avatar was even nominated....
